[Bug 549585] Re: Wlan connection peridically lost (set_device_state error)
I installed the 9/28 daily build of Maverick Meerkat with 2.6.35-22-generic, and this problem appears resolved. My machine has been up for well over twenty-four hours at 54 mbit. Thanks to the developers for fixing this problem. Let's hope it doesn't rear its ugly head again. -- Wlan connection peridically lost (set_device_state error) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549585 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 549585] Re: Wlan connection peridically lost (set_device_state error)
Looking at my logs, it appears to be another incarnation of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/548992";>548992. I see many "deauthenticated from [router MAC] (Reason: 7)" errors in /var/log/syslog. A quick Google search for 'deauthenticated reason 7' shows people reporting this problem on various distributions as far back as 2008. Unfortunately obscure error messages like "reason 7" don't really give me much information to go on. I browsed a few of the items that came up on Google but didn't see much that told me what reason 7 might be. I guess I could go browse the kernel source to try and figure this out, but frankly that's more work than simply reverting back a minor kernel upgrade. -- Wlan connection peridically lost (set_device_state error) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549585 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This problem appeared resolved in Maverick kernel 2.6.35-20-generic but has reappeared in this week's 2.6.35-21-generic release. Reverting back to -20 provides a stable connection. I am closing this bug because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Maverick Meerkat a sit includes 2.6.34 (2.6.34-5.12).
