[Bug 1228210] Re: libvirt-bin upstart job considers service started before it is ready
So, I think there are three things we can do: 1) Make uvtool's postinst wait for libvirtd's unix socket to exist and be connectable. I think I should do this anyway as a workaround, as it's not particularly intrusive, will get us by for now and will help with the no-change backport to Precise I'd like to be possible without having to worry about a libvirt SRU. But it doesn't seem like a clean solution to me. I have a debdiff ready for this that uses socat, and another that uses a Python script to avoid a universe dependency in case we want to MIR uvtool in the future. 2) Modify libvirt's packaging to use expect stop. I have an experimental debdiff that appears to work fine with this option and solves the original issue with no modification to uvtool's postinst needed. But it seems a bit ugly to me, since libvirt's behaviour in not existing the original called process before it is ready seems perfectly reasonable to me. 3) Make upstart wait on the original called process after it detects the fork with expect daemon. Presumably this applies to expect fork as well. Is there any use case for which this isn't reasonable or would create a regression? Are there any other problems with this approach? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228210 Title: libvirt-bin upstart job considers service started before it is ready To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/uvtool/+bug/1228210/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1233734] [NEW] [snb] exiting fullscreen html5 video on chromium leaves rest of screen unrefreshed
Public bug reported: While testing 2.99.903 I hit this bug, which isn't actually a regression since 2.21.14 at least, since I can only reproduce it on my sandybridge laptop, not on ivybridge or haswell. When I exit the fullscreen mode though, only the browser window contents are refreshed, everything else shows remnants of the video. Clicking on the desktop returns things to normal. since it only happens on sandybridge (didn't test on gen4 yet, don't have gen5) I guess it's a driver bug. [Bug 1233737] [NEW] letters, characters look like smashed pixels in window text (quite often)
Public bug reported: I have just upgraded from 1304 to 1310 by upgrade tool. Some letters are not showing in text or just smashed dots, pixels shown. After some time it either sorts itself or I have to scroll the text out of sight and back to solve the issue. It looks like the rendering of the text is not good. It happens quite often, in any window, both in window title and text area, independent of any program. I have seen it when I browse with firefox but also ubuntu windows like software centre. [Bug 1210253] Re: With Havana 2 installed, Launching horizon UI results in the error NameError: name 'Dashboard' is not defined
The cloud archive does not yet have the fix. It's not terribly hard to patch the packages locally, though. Summary: apt-get install build-essential apt-get source horizon apt-get build-dep horizon cd horizon-* # apply the changes to debian/rules and debian/changelog at # http://launchpadlibrarian.net/148082203/horizon_1%3A2013.2~b2-0ubuntu2_1%3A2013.2~b2-0ubuntu3.diff.gz # (although probably you will want a different version number, so # the next ubuntu cloud archive version superceeds yours) dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc cd .. install the resulting .debs with dpkg -i, or put them in a ppa, or some other repo, etc. I've confirmed that these changes fix at least the problem described here. I'm then having a different problem: when I log in, I get redirected back to the login page, with no error in the browser or apache's error.log that I can find. However, that is probably more likely something I did wrong upgrading from grizzly to havanah, or a separate issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1210253 Title: With Havana 2 installed, Launching horizon UI results in the error NameError: name 'Dashboard' is not defined To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1210253/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 978032] Re: partitioning step doesn't have discard as a selectable mount option
This bug was fixed in the package partman-basicfilesystems - 84ubuntu1 --- partman-basicfilesystems (84ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low * Resynchronise with Debian. Remaining changes: - If partman/automount is preseeded to true, automatically mount partitions with usefully-mountable filesystems on subdirectories of /media. - Add minimal support for NTFS partitions using ntfs-3g. - Mount FAT filesystems at boot (fstab pass 1). - Mount FAT (other than EFI System Partitions) and NTFS with umask=007,gid=46 (static group plugdev). - When formatting over the top of an existing swap partition, preserve its UUID to avoid leaving systems that use UUIDs in /etc/fstab without swap. - mount.d/basic: Close mount's fd 3 so that it doesn't inherit a debconf file descriptor, to prevent log-output hanging when ntfs-3g is in use. - Special case loopmounted filesystems as it's safer to format the underlying file, not the device. - Allow armel/omap to use FAT for /boot, since the problems with it can be worked around while it's difficult to use anything else given uboot limitations. - Stop using libparted to format swap partitions. - Disable existing swap partitions before formatting them. - Use mkdosfs to create FAT filesystems, since libparted cannot handle doing that on non-512-sector disks. - Always use mkfs.ext2 to create ext2 filesystems, since libparted's ext2 code is deprecated and can't handle large sector sizes. partman-basicfilesystems (84) unstable; urgency=low * Add nodiratime option for ext2, and noatime, nodiratime, relatime, and discard options for fat16 and fat32 (see #722598; LP: #978032).
