[Bug 1248763] Re: incorporate patches for sliding window support
The addition of sliding window support makes gvfs sftp transfers behave more like openssh sftp file transfers, resulting a significant throughput increase for connections with moderate to high latency (see below). The hang is being handled within one of the original bug reports, specifically: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532951. I'm testing updated patches to see if they resolve the hang. From the referenced bug reports: == PULL == Some benchmark figures: Old behavior: Copying from local server = 6.1MB/s Copying from local server with 250ms of RTT latency = 0.251MB/s Copying many small files with 250ms of RTT latency = 0.64 files per second New behavior: Copying from local server = 13MB/s Copying from local server with 250ms of RTT latency = 6.6MB/s Copying many small files with 250ms of RTT latency = 1.24 files per second OpenSSH sftp client: Copying from local server = 14.2MB/s Copying from local server with 250ms of RTT latency = 6.4MB/s Copying many small files with 250ms of RTT latency = 1.34 files per second == PUSH == Some benchmark figures: Old behavior: Copying from local server = 6.1MB/s Copying from local server with 250ms of RTT latency = 0.249MB/s Copying many small files with 250ms of RTT latency = 0.93 files per second New behavior: Copying from local server = 12.2MB/s Copying from local server with 250ms of RTT latency = 6.2MB/s Copying many small files with 250ms of RTT latency = 1.24 files per second OpenSSH sftp client: Copying from local server = 12.8MB/s Copying from local server with 250ms of RTT latency = 6.7MB/s Copying many small files with 250ms of RTT latency = 1.33 files per second ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #532951 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532951 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1248763 Title: incorporate patches for sliding window support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1248763/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1199877] Re: unity-panel-service memory leak and 100% CPU usage
I've never had 100% CPU usage, only some kind memory leak that unity- panel-service slowly uses more and more memory. After the new packages the situation is better, but still, memory usage of unity-panel-service is increasing over the time needs to be killed at some point to allow to be re-loaded with acceptable memory usage again. [Bug 1220426] Re: [nvidia-prime]Freeze while using touchpad
Sorry, I don't have any ideas. I don't think we've seen anything like this either; we'd probably need a machine that uses the same touchpad or touchpad driver. If the Nouveau driver also supports the RandR 1.4 provider source capability, it might be an interesting experiment to configure PRIME with Nouveau - modesetting to see if it's a generic interaction between the touchpad driver and RandR 1.4. Alternatively, it might be useful to attempt configuring an X screen on the Intel GPU using the modesetting driver and no offloading, to see if it's a general interaction between the touchpad driver and the modesetting X driver. That should be a lot easier to set up. Or... another possibility would be to try configuring the offloading with the Intel driver as the provider output instead of the modesetting driver. I can't remember the specific problems we ended up having with the Intel driver that led us to recommend the modesetting driver in the README instead, but if the Intel driver works as an output for you, and the problem is due to an interaction between the modesetting and touchpad drivers, then this may be a way to avoid the problem. These are all just wild guesses though; I don't have any good ideas as to why this might be happening. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1220426 Title: [nvidia-prime]Freeze while using touchpad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-319/+bug/1220426/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1205384] Re: Lock can be circumvented by switching to console
I instructed to download the script to /usr/local/bin/ since you don't have to overwrite the original lxlock script in /usr/bin/ in that case, but it will be used instead of the original, if the /usr/local/bin is before /usr/bin in PATH environment variable (and not full path is used in the command to launch lxlock). You can type echo $PATH in terminal to see, if that is the case in your OEM installation. If you don't have /usr/local/bin/lxlock, but overwrite lxlock in /usr/bin, a possible update of lxsession may overwrite the workaround script. For some reason there is lxlock in /usr/bin/X11/, too, but it seems to be identical to the version in /usr/bin/. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1205384 Title: Lock can be circumvented by switching to console To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lxde/+bug/1205384/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 970758] Re: Right Click on the Menu will make it frozen and will never disappear unless you click back on the Menu's icon
I also confirm it. The menu usually disappears when one clicks away from it, but this doesn't happen if we right-clicked something on the menu, triggering the (ADD TO DESKTOP - PROPERTIES) form. When we trigger the said form, the focus of the system in turned to it, forgetting the Menu.. so when we finish with the form the menu forgets to excute the usual command of (if user clicks away from the Menu, close it). [Bug 1249002] [NEW] Grub lose the translation in Kubuntu when a new version of the kernel is installed/uninstalled
Public bug reported: First of all, I noticed that Grub is shown in English in my PC with Kubuntu but in a netbook with Xubuntu is translated (to Spanish in my case), then I found out that this issue occurs when the package kubuntu- settings-desktop (that includes a script that change the word 'Ubuntu' for 'Kubuntu' in the Grub) is installed, if I uninstall it the Grub is shown in Spanish. So, I reported the Bug #1245216 and it seemed that the issue was solved since when I update manually the Grub (sudo update- grub) it doesn't lose the translation, but every time I install/uninstall a new version of the kernel I lose the translation again. So, it doesn't seem that this issue is caused by that script. Furthermore, because there is an uncommented iface eth0 inet6 line, NetworkManager doesn't show me the interface in its dropdown. [Bug 1249008] [NEW] iwlwifi kernel driver does not obey power saving settings
Public bug reported: Poor ping times (high latency) can be observed after unplugging from a power source. To recreate this issue start by disabling power saving and hw encryption while your laptop is plugged in. Power saving can be turned off at module load time, or with iwconfig [dev] power off rmmod iwldvm iwlwifi modprobe iwlwifi power_save=0 swcrypto=1 power_level=1 Will remove the driver and re-insert with power saving off and sw encryption on. start a ping to your router Watch latency; should be 3ms or so. Unplug laptop from power and watch latency rise to 60+ ms To get reliable networking again, either plug laptop back in or re-issue commands to disable power saving. Changing the power state of the machine changes the power state of the nic regardless of setting. What I've found is that setting power saving to on/off puts the card in power saving state instead of disabling or enabling based on power source. If you unplug your machine you must re-issue the commands to disable power saving.
