[Bug 1250605] Re: 10ec:5286 [Clevo W310CZ] Realtek Card Reader not working.

2016-01-23 Thread sugo
I have a Realtek 5289 sd card reader. With the rts driver I can read only SDHC
cards. But when I read this comment
http://askubuntu.com/questions/258533/realtek-card-reader-not-working/261504#261504
I try only to type the command
modprobe tifm_sd
just one time and then even if I reboot I can read also normal SD card. Also
the output of lspci changed. Previously was like this:
04:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device 5289
(rev 01)
and now is
03:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL4811 PCI
Express Card Reader (rev 01).
I can't now revert the change to confirm what I say, because I am not pretty
sure if is the result of the command, but may help to other users.

[Bug 1001579] [NEW] Incorrect file transfer progress bar

2016-01-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When I am transferring data from my PC to USB storage device, the
transfer rate shown during the process is completely incorrect. So, also
the progress bar.

Please check the attached screen shot:

It is showing the transfer rate to be : 31.5MB/sec while my USB drive
only supports maximum of 7MB/sec. Similarly the progress bar is shown as
100% completed but internally still it is transferring the data and took
almost another 1 minute to finish. Till the end of this process I am
clueless whether the transfer is still going on or there is some hang.

Even though it's not a blocking issue but surely an usability issue.

[Bug 1536397] Re: [nForce2] pata_amd pata_acpi can't load

2016-01-23 Thread Sergey
I tried to load Xubuntu 15.10 installation LiveCD from USB Stick. It was
loaded normally. (4.2.0-16-generic)

I tested next kenrels from mainline (i386):
3.19.0-031900-generic = ok
3.19.8-031908-generic = ok
4.2.8-040208-generic = pata_amd, pata_acpi error
4.3.0-040300-generic = pata_amd, pata_acpi error
4.3.4-040304-generic = pata_amd, pata_acpi error

I can check anything else.

P.S. Links what kernel was used:

[Bug 1535318] Re: deprecation of python-support

2016-01-23 Thread John S. Gruber
@Graham Sorry about my mistake--I had looked at the wrong release.

I've fixed upstream Lernid, tested, and released it as 1.0.2. I built it
for xenial only. I see you have MOTU privileges. Would you mind taking
care of Lernid(Ubuntu) with a copy or rebuild? No Ubuntu changes are
necessary.

Here's the buildlog: https://launchpad.net/~lernid-devs/+archive/ubuntu
/lernid-releases/+build/504/+files/buildlog_ubuntu-xenial-
amd64.lernid_1.0.2_BUILDING.txt.gz

Here's the new debian/control:

Source: lernid
Section: net
Priority: extra
Build-Depends:
 debhelper (>= 7.0.50~),
 python (>= 2.6),
Build-Depends-Indep: python-distutils-extra (>= 2.10)
Maintainer: John S Gruber
Standards-Version: 3.9.3.1
X-Python-Version: >=2.6

Package: lernid
Architecture: all
Depends: ${misc:Depends},
 ${python:Depends},
 telepathy-idle,
 python-xdg,
 python-telepathy,
 python-webkit,
 python-dbus,
 python-notify,
 python-gobject,
 python-vobject,
 python-gtk2,
 python-poppler,
Recommends:
 python-vte,
 python-appindicator
Description: client to easily connect to Ubuntu classroom events
Lernid provides an interface for joining in Ubuntu learning events such
as Ubuntu Open Week and Ubuntu Developer Week.

The package is built in:
https://launchpad.net/~lernid-devs/+archive/ubuntu/lernid-releases/+packages

The source is in: https://code.launchpad.net/~lernid-devs/lernid/trunk

I elected to fix it as I'm unaware that a decision has been taken to
discontinue use of #ubuntu-classroom; it simply seems to have fallen
into disuse.

Please let me know if I've missed anything or you need anything else
from me.

[Bug 608712] Re: In Ubuntu font, autohinted distance to diaeresis varies between letters

2016-01-23 Thread Nikolaus Waxweiler
I noticed this with a different font using the native OpenType/CFF
(.otf) hinter. Is has to do with making the overshoot on top-round
letters (e.g. a, e, o) visible, shifting diacritics upwards by the same
amount as the round top. Note how flat-top letters like i, u, and y
align to each other.

[Bug 1238194] Re: keyboard doesn't work to enter password with encrypted partitions ubuntu 13.10 saucy

2016-01-23 Thread Danielhok
Hello,
I was using previously Linux Mint and then I had the idea that I'll change my
system to Ubuntu Mate.
After the installing and rebooting I faced immediately the same problem as the
guys here.

I can only login if I choose the kernel in the recovery mode. I'm using at the
moment the newest kernel 4.4.0-040400.
I can't imagine why I have this problem.

I've tried to add "ohci_pci" to the initramfs-tools/modules but with no
effort.

I'm using a Razer Deathstalker Chroma as keyboard and I wonder if there is
missing support to my keyboard?
It is connected to a USB-Hub together with my Mouse and the Hub goes to a USB
3.0 Port on my Motherboard.

Maybe I have to connect my keyboard directly to my PC?

Can someone pls help me?
This problem is still actual and I guess a lot of people are still suffering.

I guess this problem could be solved easily but someone shall take a look at it
and help us users to solve it.
We want to be better then Windows and therefore we have to do something

Do not just say Linux is better, safer and whatsoever, help the people
which are suffering on a stupid simple problem.

Guys I appreciate ur help!
Daniel

[Bug 1405084] Re: Scrolling takes 5 seconds holding down arrow key at 100% zoom

2016-01-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
robegue, I'm not convinced we have an actionable issue here that needs
to be addressed via scheduling resource now. This is how to have a few
seconds in scrolling the attached picture is expected here.

Also, it matches the speed with which Office does the scrolling.

Hence, for now, this is a Won't Fix Wishlist request, focused only on
the attached document, pertaining to the underlying algorithms regarding
image presentation to be faster, more efficient, etc. which will be
addressed over time upstream.

If more information is presented that provides a materially new insight,
then this is a different matter, and the Status may be reconsidered.

Despite this, the discussion may still continue regarding this issue.

Thank you for submitting this report, and working together with me on
this.

[Bug 1315955] Re: nfsd hangs

2016-01-23 Thread Matt
We've just run into this after about 600 days of continual NFS use. It
does appear to be load related. I can say anecdotally though that when
swapping over from Ubuntu 14.04 to 14.04.3 we found it appearing more
often, which lead me to this bug report. I've just disabled NFSv4 as was
suggested.

[Bug 1537399] [NEW] [Feature Request] Xmir icon generation

2016-01-23 Thread Kay
Public bug reported:

Old non-mir apps have ugly icons which don't fit to the other mir native
apps.

A solution could be that unity 8 generates the icon background itself
(maybe with a slight gradient touch or other style) so that it fits at
least with the same icon size and shape.

[Bug 993407] Re: install-info can fail to install due to syntax errors in /etc/environment

I had added the following lines to my /etc/environment
LC_COLLATE=C
VISUAL=/usr/local/bin/vim
EDITOR=/usr/local/bin/vim
first_weekday 2

I removed the lines and the error went away. I was recently working on
some changes and forgot to remove these changes after testing. I have
these lines in my user configuration files now.

Maybe there is a way in Ubuntu to mount an USB stick with something in-

[Bug 1537410] [NEW] When GIMP is in single-window mode, it should allow you to maximize the window - feature request

2016-01-23 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Public bug reported:

When in single-window mode, if one is to move the window slightly to one
side, then it is hard to get it properly maximized again by changing the
window's size manually and moving it around, so I think that it would be
really useful for at least when it is in single-window mode for there to
be a "maximize" button as currently only the "minimize" and "close"
buttons are provided.

I am running GIMP 2.8 on Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 with GNOME 3.18.

2016-01-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Gaston M. Tonietti, the reason you didn't get a response would be
because the root causing wasn't deep enough to conclude much.

To advise, the root causing procedures are now much more in-depth.
Hence, could you please provide the missing information following

[Bug 1524638] Re: idlc doesn't compile anything

2016-01-23 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Samuel Mehrbrodt, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better.

You receiving a syntax error isn't considered a software bug of
LibreOffice in Ubuntu.

Hence, for further support towards this, you may find the following resources
useful:
https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists
https://lists.ubuntu.com/

Please feel free to report any future bugs you may find.

[Bug 1341256] Re: Press caps lock on bluetooth keyboard then the keyboard go death

2016-01-23 Thread Juan Pablo Villa Russell
It's been more than a year but is there any news on this? Same problem
with:

Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Keyboard

The only line that I got from dmesg after turning the keyboard off and on again
is:
unknown main item tag 0x0

Also, the bluetooth keyboard stops responding when pressing caps lock in the
Bluetooth Keyboard or on a usb keyboard
