On the one hand, the case of the items was fixed (as it was reported also in a separate bug); the indentation is because, as implied by said indentation and by the behavior of the app, music store purchases are delivered using file syncing, so unless you are syncing files you can't have music purchases synced. ** Changed in: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- Services tab options alignment https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549167 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Since this is rather severe problem, and from what I've seen the eDP patches were tested in many iterations and not possibly the last one, I'd suggest keeping this on radar as a patch to be backported to natty's 2.6.38, considering Dell is one of Canonical's key partners for Ubuntu. [Bug 411723] [NEW] apport should let me save a report for later if the upload fails, or at least let me reuse a crash
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apport I am extremely frustrated right now; NetworkManager, modem-manager, linux itself, and apport are giving me a real bad time. I haven't been this frustrated with a Linux install since... since I was using Slackware, a *long* time ago. When I try to connect via my 3g modem, NetworkManager gets modem-manager to start pppd, but then dies, leaving pppd running but not actually useful. When it dies, apport helpfully pops up to let me know, so I tell it to submit a bug: after all, ppp0 is up, so I'm connect, right? Wrong! The modem driver is in a wacko state, unplugging the modem crashes linux, so there is nothing I can do to get the connection back and send the report, and there is nothing in the apport window that lets me save the report for later. Grrr! After I reboot, reading apport's documentation I realize that crash reports are saved in /var/crashes, and yes, there it is. Great, right? [Bug 427526] [NEW] FFe: Sync ipython 0.10-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Public bug reported: Please sync ipython 0.10-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped: The two patches that were part of the Ubuntu delta, debian/patches/07_python-wxgtk2.6_compatibility.patch debian/patches/07_deprecate_sets_module.patch are now included upstream. The only remaining part of the Ubuntu delta is * build requires quilt 0.46-5 or later for unpatch (LP: #383017) which is easy to redo. Explanation of FeatureFreeze exception: 0.10 includes a lot of bugfixes, some new features, and is intented as “a stable and robust release”. The only possible problem is that ipy_leo.py is no longer included. The leo editor is not part of Ubuntu, so I don't think this is a problem (ipy_leo.py was split out of ipython itself, although still available at lp:~ipython-dev/ipython/ipython-extensions, and is possibly being incorporated into the leo project itself: see http://groups.google.com/group/leo-editor/msg/493d6beda66bfb9f). The debian changes also include a fix for the rename of the zope.interface package, and a note about quilt usage (in README.source). [Bug 432243] [NEW] when unplugging/replugging a huawei ZTE MF622 3g modem: BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at c01e3e2c
Public bug reported: This is very similar to #353224, except that it's a BUG and not just a WARNING, and that I had to reboot, and fsck failed because the mount timestamps were all in the future. I'm hoping I haven't lost data ... so far so good. The things it has in common, apart from the modem itself, is that the bug only seems to happen when I used NetworkManager to connect; I've been using pon/poff with no problems at all. One thing modemmanager does which I don't do when using pon/poff is probe the device via ttyUSB1. Maybe that is related? I have no idea. [Bug 610055] [NEW] computer stuttering, freezing, hanging, and otherwise being uncooperative
Public bug reported: I'm not sure if this should be one bug report or many, and I don't have much info to put in here. My computer is stuttering (doing small one-second freeze, similar to a OOM but it's not that), freezing (mouse and keyboard lock up, but wifi still blinks) and hanging completely (although this might be the same as the latter, because it happens when I open the lid - not a suspend/resume cycle, just closing the lid while on AC, opening it, blank screen and no activity). There is very little in the logs. The stuttering happens at random times, but especially when plugging in AC, at which point I get a SATA error in the logs, something like: Jul 21 10:54:31 hulla kernel: [ 5913.787813] ata6: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x404 action 0xe frozen Jul 21 10:54:31 hulla kernel: [ 5913.787823] ata6: irq_stat 0x0040, connection status changed Jul 21 10:54:31 hulla kernel: [ 5913.787831] ata6: SError: { CommWake DevExch } Jul 21 10:54:31 hulla kernel: [ 5913.787845] ata6: hard resetting link Jul 21 10:54:41 hulla kernel: [ 5923.792597] ata6: softreset failed (device not ready) Jul 21 10:54:41 hulla kernel: [ 5923.792609] ata6: hard resetting link setting /sys/class/scsi_host/host1/link_power_management_policy to min_power stops the stuttering once it's started, and turning off IRRT seems to have gotten rid of them (but the system is slower as a result). [Bug 610063] [NEW] no sound device on boot
Public bug reported: In fooling around trying to find the source of another issue I manually unloaded my snd* modules (using modprobe -r), and now they don't come up automatically and I have to load them manually every boot. [Bug 602937] [NEW] when in focus-follows-mouse the mouse generates fake events when over text
Public bug reported: I use focus-follows-mouse (System - Preferences - Windows - Select windows when the mouse moves over them), and in Maverick it's broken: when the mouse hovers over a widget that has text some kind of fake events start happening (so the mouse cursor starts blinking like crazy, very distracting in and of itself). If I alt-tab away from the window that has the mouse cursor over it, these fake events bring the focus back. When not in focus-follows-mouse, the fake events don't happen (no mouse cursor flickering). Like Exec=/bin/sh -c '[ -d $HOME/Ubuntu One ] ubuntuone-launch' OK, done. The latter, that is. I'm not sure how much better it is; there already are some python scripts in the startup, so python itself will be cached in memory, and if the directory doesn't exist the only modules used (os and sys) will have been loaded before also. And this is 30 seconds after everything else has started, with the difference between the sh version and the python version clocking in at 1ms versus 10ms on my machine. So... not sure how much better it is, and I could argue that it's worse, but I've implemented it because I think it's a reasonable middle ground, and the freeze clock is ticking. [Bug 534707] Re: [Freeze Exception] ubuntuone-client: Syncdaemon needs to auto-start/connect in Lucid
Hi Steve! Yes, it's a bug, a regression from ubuntuone-client in 9.10. However, the way we need to fix it is *probably* (we aren't working on this issue yet) with a small script that is started at session startup, not a fix to existing binaries. That felt like a FFe-needing feature more than a simple bugfix to us, which is why we're asking for one. If you'd rather wait until we had the code done, so we actually knew whether this is needed, no problem! -- [Freeze Exception] ubuntuone-client: Syncdaemon needs to auto-start/connect in Lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/534707 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
