[Bug 1030501] Re: impossible to boot from live usb

2012-07-29 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
Anyway your bug description seems not to be related to Ubuntu, but only to
Linux Mint.

Other this thing you don't write the way you made the live usb.

For this motivations I'll mark as invalid the bug for Ubuntu

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Intrepid reached EOL a long time

Moreover from intrepid there was various release of scribus.

2012-09-03 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Before filing bug reports against an upgrade try to asking for support.
You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your
local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at
http://askubuntu.com or http://ubuntuforums.org.

For now I'm going to invalidate and close this bug.
Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at

bug as a bug in network-manager.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-

[Bug 1044868] Re: Unsecure passwords reported as acceptable as well as strong ones

2012-09-03 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
** Description changed:

- This happened in a livecd installation from the ubuntu 12.04 desktop
- i386 iso file.
+ When you set the password during the installation or also when you
+ change it via the gnome-control-center you can insert a weak password
+ (like 123456 or qwerty or abcdef or password itself) without any
+ alerts, or so on.

- During a installation on a VM I decided that the username should be
- usuario (user in spanish) and the password should be contraseña
- (password in spanish). The language of the installer was set to spanish.
-
- The bug is that the password contraseña was marked as acceptable
- (aceptable in spanish), witch is not.
-
- I suggest a password strength verification that includes the most used
- passwords (like 1234 or qwerty) or, at least, a dictionary that includes
- the word password in every language.
-
- I understand that the system must perceive the ñ character as a
- special symbol, but having declared a spanish keyboard it should not be
- treated as such. Nor with any other keymap and symbol that is non-
- english but present on them.
+ The suggestion is a password strength verification that includes the most
used passwords (like 1234 or qwerty) and a dictionary that includes the
word password in every language.
+ A special attention to language like Spanish where password is
contraseña, and where is the character ñ which can be recognize as a
special symbol.

I thing checking the password in order to prevent the use of a
dictionary word is excessive (it's true the password is important, but
-in a desktop location- sometimes the security isn't a issue), but
looking for a limited set of words, like password in all language,
qwerty, and so on...

We can't do anything for the copy.com client. That software isn't in the
Ubuntu archive, and we can't do anything particular to make that
software works fine.

It's a job for the copy.com developers, not for the Ubuntu ones.

2013-11-05 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
I don't think uploading this to Debian is correct: Debian doesn't need it.
Its a only-Ubuntu issue related to how unity manage the panel...
Maybe we should reccomend it only in Ubuntu.

Anyway, I think that we should depends on it, since without that library
there is a feature (the indicator) that doesn't work.

OK. Can you upload (and sync) this on Debian today, so we can make an sru?
There are a lot of people complaining about this and I would like to see

It'll work in other desktop environment, meaning it's not strictly

any case, recommends is installed by default, so I think it should be

It's fine by me, even if I prefer to see it as a depends rather than a

[Bug 1242413] Re: nautilus-dropbox needs a dependency on libappindicator1

2013-11-07 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
** Description changed:

- Hi!
+ [Impact]

- When installing nautilus-dropbox, everything works well except that
- there is no notification icon in the notification area. This is fixed
- very easily by manually installing the libappindicator1 package right
- after installing nautilus-dropbox and logging out and back in.
+ * On a fresh Ubuntu 13.10 Sucay Salamander installation, if a user
+ install the Dropbox client from the Ubuntu archive (multiverse section)

+ program works fine.

- This seems to imply that the nautilus-dropbox package should have a
- dependency set for libappindicator1 so that it gets installed at the
- same time if not already present on the system.
+ * The fix is very easy, as adding `libappindicator1` in the the
+ Recommends field.

- Should be fairly trivial to fix.

+ * Simply, on a fresh installation of Ubuntu 13.10 install the Dropbox client
(from the Ubuntu Software Center or via the command line using `sudo apt-get

[Bug 1230371] [NEW] Please sync afterstep 2.2.12-2 from Debian unstable (main)

2013-09-25 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Public bug reported:

Please sync afterstep 2.2.12-2 from Debian unstable (main) to saucy
release (universe).

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
 * Depend/build-depend on libtiff-dev rather than libtiff4-dev → now the Debian
package depends on libtiff-dev, so the Ubuntu change was integrated in Debian.

Changelog entries since current saucy version 2.2.11-7ubuntu1:

afterstep (2.2.12-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * New patches:
+ 39-Fix-parallel-builds to fix FTBFS on builders;
+ 40-Fix-few-gcc-warnings with warnings fixes.

  * Apply patch from Ubuntu to depend/build-depend on libtiff-dev rather than
libtiff4-dev.
  * Remove libgif-dev dependencies, as builtin ungif library is used instead.

 -- Robert Luberda rob...@debian.org Thu, 19 Sep 2013 01:07:11 +0200

afterstep (2.2.12-1) unstable; urgency=low

[Bug 1246886] [NEW] Please merge lighttpd (1.4.33-1) from Debian testing

2013-10-31 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Public bug reported:

Debian changelog since last merge:

lighttpd (1.4.33-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Drop the connection-dos.patch - merged upstream.
  * Fix mod_extforward missing configuration file: ship requested
configuration file (Closes: #697304)
  * Remove access.conf, an obsolete conffiles as we should have done since
2010 (Closes: #703215)
  * Push debhelper's compat mode to 9, the use of maintscript helper requires
8.1 so we had to push the debhelper b-d anyway.
  * Fix config.guess/config.sub out of date for arm64 by adding the patch
provided by Colin Watson. Thanks (Closes: #726394).
  * Fix [PATCH] use dh-systemd for proper systemd-related maintscripts to
add systemd support. Thanks to Michael Stapelberg (Closes: #713859)

world-writable which may cause security implications if an attacker
manages to control /tmp/php.socket before the web server (re-)starts.
  * Switch VCS to git

[Bug 1026572] Re: 'update-manager' package

2012-07-19 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you
are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the
support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are
uncertain if they are bugs. You can also find help with your problem in
the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/
or asking at http://askubuntu.com or http://ubuntuforums.org. For help
on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 reached EOL

I've tried recreating this bug with 9.04 and was unable to, given the
information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest version and
re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, increase the verbosity of the
steps to recreate it so we can try again.

[Bug 396194] Re: build-dep f-spot doesn't install libmono-cairo1.0-cil

2014-01-26 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
This was somehow fixed, since I can build f-spot fine in trusty, only with
apt-get build-dep f-spot
apt-get source f-spot
cd f-spot
dpkg-buildpackage

Marking as fixed.
