[ubuntu-studio-devel] Documentation for 16.04
I'd really like to get some documentation together for the next LTS. * Some sort of basic user guide with lots of links to other resources. * Simple troubleshooting, which I'm hoping we can implement also into -controls, if there is enough time for that. Documentation should exist on both or website and on our ISO, IMO. We might even have a first login autostart for an introductionary doc. I'm planning something like that for -controls (to apply settings for it). Re: [ubuntu-studio-devel] Documentation for 16.04
I have a idea, perhaps is possible ussing the package from deepin linux user manual, to make a tutorial: wget -c http://packages.linuxdeepin.com/deepin/pool/main/d/deepin-user-manual/deepin-user-manual_1.0+git20131206100813~1a99425fff_all.deb The steps are two: 1.- Replace (backup) default sources.list for the coming attached here 2.- Install the key wget http://packages.linuxdeepin.com/deepin/project/deepin-keyring.gpg gpg --import deepin-keyring.gpg sudo gpg --export --armor 209088E7 | sudo apt-key add - See this video that I made https://youtu.be/wnp5ScK74kY *Bibliography* ppa - Can i install Deepin Desktop Environment 2 in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS? - Ask Ubuntu http://askubuntu.com/questions/515302/can-i-install-deepin-desktop-environment-2-in-ubuntu-14-04-lts Package Repository - deepin Wiki http://wiki.deepin.org/index.php?title=Package_Repository *Note:* I installed Linux repositories Deepin only to see "Deepin Store" to know what is new there, then I left my repositories as they were before -- Food Engineer Washington Indacochea Delgado sources.list Description: Binary data -- ubuntu-studio-devel mailing list ubuntu-studio-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel

There's plenty of experience among people on this list, though I'm sure not everyone fancies themselves authors - which is not really what you need to be anyway. It may be a few days work, and those are a few days that I myself would like to put on something else, if possible. This is just one of many, many things that we have talked about forever, but nothing much has come out of it. There's also the youtube tutorial video thing, which we have made some pre-work for, but same thing there - someone needs to start making videos :). -- ubuntu-studio-devel mailing list ubuntu-studio-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel

My spelling is far optimal, but my formulation is decent. Tested in Ubuntu 15.04 on a Tegra X1 system.Does this (Difference in GLES support on aarch64 and armhf) have a reason? How can I solve this issue, regarding the fact that I use GLES based source code and on Tegra X1 only GLES libraries exist?Licheng Ma -- ubuntu-devel mailing list ubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
Feature request for gnome-disk-utility
I think the gnome-disk-utility gui should clearly show the Name of a partition, if it has been set (using gdisk, or other utility). CHANGE #1: Currently, the gui does not display the Name of a GPT partition in the details section (where Size, Device, Partition Type, and Contents are shown). I suggest adding the name as the first field in the list, above Size. CHANGE #2: The visual at the top, showing the relative sizes of the partitions, does include the partition name, but it is not visible for smaller partitions, because it is on the same line as the Partition # label. I suggest displaying the name (if set) on it's own line, above Partition #. Alternative, the name might be displayed as a heading, at the very top of each partition "silo", with a vertical gap, before "Filesystem", "Swap", etc. are shown. ATTACHMENT: Please see the attached screen shot. Only the name of the sixth partition (called "Data") is visible, because that partition is large/wide enough for all of the text to fit. REASONING: 1) Usually, a partition Name, if it has been set, is something very relevant to the user, allowing him/her quickly identify a partition and its purpose at a glance, without having to mentally parse through the other technical information displayed. 2) There is enough vertical space in the gui to support both suggestions above. -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
