tabankg, it's pretty easy to upgrade from DVD: insert the dvd, fire up a shell, and type in...sudo apt-cdrom add ...and follow the instructions..then...sudo apt-get update if you prefer the gui...then...insert dvd, go to System Administration Software Sources Third party software Add CD-ROM..and do the needful hope it helps... Hi Kausik, From my experience, Ubuntu will ask you to update to next version in synaptic manager stating upgrade is available for download. If you click yes automatically update the previous version. On my part I prefer to re-intall new version using like LFY CD and update it to avoid confliction. I got an HP Pavillion to replace it, but the screen died on that too! I'm interested in the PS3 as a cheap way of getting my hands on a Cell processor (PowerPC + 8SPE's). Ubuntu runs on it, and I'm interested in finding out how good it is for bioinformatics. I nearly bought one at half the price when I was in Canada, but it would not work in the UK. This month's Ubuntu Format (aka Linux Format) has an interesting article about Yellow Dog publisher Terrasoft being bought out by Fixstars, who are marketing a Cell-based blade server. I want one of these for Xmas! Not a chance. Too expensive and I'm not interested in HDTV or Bluray. Nice toy but it does nothing I want. Instead I just bought a 2nd hand PS2, cheaply, precisely *because* it Just Works and needs no installation, setup, fiddling, drivers, configuration or anything else. You should have got an Xbox1... plays great games and you can really 'fiddle' with the things... Mine has run Debian, been a MythTV frontend, but now is mostly an XBMC media center... I'm sure with a step down transformer and HDMI to DVI cable (and a DVI monitor) it would work just fine, just not play games from this region, but hey if you want to run Linux on it then that won't matter so much. Not sure how great is is though with only about 256MB ram. I guess you could enable swap. Shame you can't stick extra memory in there. Telling me that the warranty would be void in Scotland hastened my decision not to buy ;-) Not sure how great is is though with only about 256MB ram. I guess you could enable swap. I am on dial-up so Ubuntu Studio is, for now, pretty much out the window... (?) But I am trying, by bits pieces to make useable, audio for Ubuntu Hardy, 8.04.1. A question for me now is, how do I obtain install the -rt Kernel? might this work (I have Jack, etc., Ardour Rosegarden)? Thanks a bunch for any tips, directions or whatnots. If you have access to a public computer somewhere, and know what specific packages you need, you can go to packages.ubuntu.com and download. Then just bring them back and install. Olá, Erasmo.Você precisa editar o seguinte arquivo: /boot/grub/menu.list Nesse arquivo tem uma linha default 0. Esse número é referente ao default da inicialização. Mude para o número referente ao windows. Cuidado para não alterar mais coisas. Sugiro que faça um backup do arquivo, caso de algum problema. E lembre-se que você deve editar o arquivo como root. Se sim, existem meio de garantir a qualidade do áudio, CODECs etc? Tipo assim, cê tá querendo escrever código para gerar .wma a partir de .mp3? Legal, mas saiba desde já que se tratam de formatos proprietários e, possivelmente sujeitos a pagamento de royaltes e coisa e tal. Outra coisa, garantia de qualidade é inerente ao arquivo fonte. Se ele for bom, um re-encode pode não ser tão grave, mas se você fizer isso algumas vezes em cascata os resultados são terríveis. Podes procurar na net que tem um monte de programa open que faz conversão de arquivos de som. Mas que eu saiba são bem poucos os que trabalham com .wma. A melhor alternativa é ir para um formato não compactado, tipo flac (é compactado mas sem perdas) ou wave ou pcm puro (raw) e então fazer um encode desde para o formato alvo. Podes fazer tudo em RAM (melhor performance, maior exigência de máquina), ou podes utilizar disco (pior performance, menor exigência de máquina). Agora, o bom espírito opensource nos sugere gastarmos esforços de programação em mudar de .wma e .mp3 em .ogg ou flac. André Cavalcante Porto Alegre, RS. Quanto mais específico, mais fácil ajudar ;) Primeiro eu tentei fazer simplesmente o óbvio: ir no setup, bootar pelo CD e tentar instalar o XP para em seguida o Ubuntu. Não deu certo, dava erro direto durante a cópia de arquivos, pesquisei e descubri que a HP além de não homologar seus Notebooks para outro SO ela não aconselha em nada a instalação de outro SO principalmente o XP. Já fiz isto em outro modelo do HP Pavilion, coloquei o XP penei para descobrir os drivers e foi, em seguida instalei o UBUNTU 8.10 e maravilha de cara reconheceu TUDO. Comprei esse modelo que especifiquei acima pensando que seria a mesma coisa mas... :( não deu certo. Pesquisando um pouco mais no google achei em um forum de Portugal que uma pessoa também teve este mesmo problema e ela foi aconselhada a habilitar o modo AHCI no setup da BIOS, lá fui eu tentar fazer a mesma coisa mas o setup não tem nenhum lugar onde possa existir essa opção para habilitar ou desabilitar. Fiquei pensando... Será que a tirania das empresas do software ruim e proprietário está nos algemando para as suas porcarias de produtos? Isso tem que ser combatido e logo, ou seja, já é o medo do mundo LINUX tomando as rédeas do livre pensar e do livre agir. Ksatrya, Eu também comprei um note HP (modelo DV 6870 US) meses atrás e ele veio com o Vista. Tirei o Vista e coloquei o Ubuntu (isso já era minha intenção qdo comprei ele). Consegui configurar tudo que tem no note para trabalhar com o Ubuntu, inclusive o leitor biométrico. Os programas que eu preciso usar no XP tenho numa VM de 50 GB do VirtualBox. Amigo, se o erro ocorre quando ainda está sendo feita a cópia dos arquivos, é muito provável que seja ou problema do cd de instalação ou da unidade ótica, mas limitação de sistema para não copiar o cd, não é. Você precisará ainda integrar o driver da controladora sata no disco de inicialização do XP para instalar com o modo AHCI habilitado na Bios, senão ele não reconhecerá o Disco Rígido com a opção do . Quanto ao reconhecimentos dos drivers no Ubuntu, creio que o sistema irá reconhecer de boa, no máximo algum dispositivo menos comum que pode ser mais difícil de se instalar, como a Webcam, por exemplo. Já com relação ao modo AHCI, procure por algo como SATA mode, ou algo assim, as suas opções devem ser AHCI ou IDE. O motivo da HP homologar apenas o Vista é apenas econômico, não existe nenhuma limitação técnica para tal, meu conselho é para fazer o seguinte, com o Vista mesmo instalado, utilize o PCwizard ou o Everest para listar todo o seu Hardware, procure pelos drivers para o XP na fabricante de cada componente, e depois de instalado o Windows, instale o Ubuntu. IP-туннель - IP-туннель
На работе стоит комп для раздачи спутникового интернета: SkyStar2, обратный канал по ADSL (стат. IP) Для снижения количества проблем с обрывами VPN и всяких там globax, slonax и т.д., применил тип подключения IP-IP-туннель, благо спутниковый провайдер позволяет. Дома соорудил точно такую же систему: SkyStar2 + ADSL(стат.IP) + IP-IP-туннель. Все работает замечательно. Но: никак не могу наладить коннект между двумя этими машинами! 8-( Для чистоты эксперимента даже iptables выключил и там и сям - тишина. Даже ICMP (пинги) не идут: ни с рабочей на домашнюю, ни наоборот. Однако у ребят по сылке получилось и без рутовых правов export сделать :) Еще такой вариант, записать в .bashrc export LANG=ru_RU.ISO8859-5. Bonjour, J'ai installé Skype 2.0.0.72-1 qui a fonctionné(j'ai pu m'entretenir avec un correspondant) après configuration de la WebCam(Logitech E3500)dans Options. Aujourd'hui, je veux lancer le logiciel et rien ne se passe. Je l'ai désinstaller et réinstaller à plusieurs reprises mais rien n'y fait. Que faire? Je suis développeur web et j'ai eu l'occasion de faire des sites avec toutes sorte d'outils allant de Nvu à symfony en passant par WordPress et Jumla. Pour moi les outils du type Nvu, dreamweaver ou komposer ne permettent pas de réaliser des sites de qualités car, comme ils ne séparent pas suffisement le contenue de la présentation, toutes mises à jour doit se faire en prenant extrêmement garde aux règles d'accessibilité et d'ergonomie que la personne responsable de ligne éditoriale ne connait pas et n'a pas le temps de prendre en compte. Très vite les sites se retrouve cassé (non fonctionnel sur un ou plusieurs navigateurs) ou mort (son contenu n'évolu pas). Par ailleurs, les framework du type symfony, ezPublish ou Drupal s'adresse à des développeurs uniquement pour réaliser des fonctionnalités particulière dans un contexte particulier. Bien sûr, il n'est pas exclut qu'un développeur utilise ces outils pour réaliser un simple site, mais ce sera pour lui un choix dicté par son expérience et non par la logique : on préfère toujours utilisé les outils que l'on maîtrise plutôt que les outils que l'on utilise trop rarement pour bien les connaître quite à utiliser un marteau piqueur pour tuer un mouche car quand on maîtrise l'outil en question, ce n'est pas un problèmes ! Entre les deux, la famille des CMS : WordPress, Dotclear, Jumla, Spip... et bien d'autre ! Je les trouve assez décevant : il ne sont pas à la hauteur du public pour lequel il s'adresse car ils tentent de faire trop de choses et se perdent alors en complexités. C'est en tout cas ce que je pense de Jumla. Certain s'en tire mieux que d'autre, c'est pour cela que je conseil WordPress ou Dotclear dont toutes les fonctionnalités autre que l'écriture de contenu est rejeté dans les nombreux plugin, laissant l'outil simple à prendre en main, tout en lui garantissant des évolutions futures pouvant être complexe. Ma préférence actuelle de WordPress sur Dotclear est sujette à évolution et provient de test réaliser en juin dernier ( http://fam-martel.eu/nat/2008/06/wordpress-vs-dotclear/). Cette retrospective serait incomplète si je n'évoquait pas les outils en ligne tel bloger, Google site... Certe ceci on l'avantage sur le groupe précédent de se rapprocher de leur public, notament en supprimant toute la problématique de l'ébergement. Cependant attention ! Ils sont parfois très limité : bloger ne permettra jamais de faire autre chose, qu'un blog. Ceci dit en liant ces outils vous pourrez obtenir des résultats interessant : imaginez quelques pages de présentation réalisé sur Google site, un blog d'actualité sur Bloger, une gallerie photo sur PicasaWeb regardez par exemple ce site d'association : http://sudrandos.over-blog.com/ zéro compétence technique, ça ne paye pas de mine mais toute les informations voulu y sont et c'est l'essentiel ! Le danger et que l'évolutivité n'est pas garantie et l'image est déplorable. Conclusion : Je laisse au développeur le soin de choisir les outils qu'il veulent, mais je conseil à toute personne non technique voulant réaliser un site de petite entreprise ou d'association de le faire avec WordPress pour commencer. Par la suite, il y aura possibilité d'évoluer graphiquement et de créer une image par des graphistes professionnels sans rien remettre en cause. De même, le site pourra évoluer sur les fonctionnalités classiques grâce au nombreux plugins disponible. Enfin, si l'entreprise à des besoins particuliers elle devra trouver les compétences nécessaires en interne ou en externe. Ne le prends pas mal, mais je trouve le peu d'originalité de ces deux framework (si on peut parler de framework pour Blogger) peu compatible avec une réalisation d'un développeur web dont on attendrait un peu plus d'originalité, de personnalité. Utiliser Wordpress ou Blogger, c'est un peu, pour moi, céder à la facilité. This bug affects me too. The problem appeared after I added the KDE 4.2 repositories to my list. This worked first, but after reboot the problem was there. What is funny: I have removed a larger part of my sources.list entried (commented them out), but the problem does not dispear. Any idea how to work around this? I think setting to zero is not a good idea. I have configured a netbook with an atheros network card yesterday. After setting timeout to 5, I was not able to get an IP address so I had to increase the value to 10. As far as I have seen from the output, the network card was not ready in 5 seconds, so the first dhcp request was not successful and is waiting for some seconds like this: DHCPDISCOVER on wlan1 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 6 No DHCPOFFERS received. If timeout is 5, no more discovers are made, instead the dhcplient cancels.
