This looks to me more like something that's seriously wrong with your system rather than a problem with the package: Setting up libkadm5clnt6 (1.7dfsg~beta3-1ubuntu0.6) ... dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute installed post-installation script: Exec format error The postinst script for that particular package should be just a regular shell script. [Bug 625662] [NEW] autofs prevents suspend/hibernate
Public bug reported: I can't get my laptop to suspend or hibernate while autofs is active (I've tried with only nfs connections or only sshfs connections). It doesn't matter if the connections are alive or not - only that they are potential. Connecting with nfs or sshfs manually doesn't cause the problem. As soon as I stop autofs, the suspend and hibernate functions work again, and cease to work when I restart autofs. The issue is not just the recurring ratelimit.c messages in the logs. The jittery sound, or skipping/stuttering, renders the system unusable for multimedia voice comm. It is not clear whether the log messages are related to the sound problem, but they do seem to occur together. It would help to know what is known so far about these issues. People seem to have been able to fix the sound problems by upgrading to Alsa 1.0.23, but I'm not one of them. I forgot to mention that it doesn't matter if the always on top setting is used on any window. The particular use case that I experience routinely is that when in a terminal window, gnome-terminal or xterm, then web browser windows (firefox, konqueror, google-chrome) always appear in the background. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor 1. The trayed mini-view shows about 60%-75% overal processor load when mouse passes over the icon. Whereas the full view shows that both cores are less than 20% loaded. 2. The back (dark blue) stripe in the Processor-window of the trayed mini-view is almost always 50% or over and is higher than the front (light-blue) stripe. I interpret the stripes as load graphs of my 2 CPU Cores. If so, then it is again differs from the full view significantly, because both CPUs are equally loaded according to the full view. both issues are quite often to observe. Observations: 1. Hiding /usr/local/bin/install-info (which was the old GNU texinfo, v 4.8) enabled aptitude to finish cleanly. 2. Package management software operating in vendor (in this Ubuntu) territory, i.e., using the vendor's package database, should insulate itself from PATH components not under vendor control, e.g., /home/abigail/bin, /usr/local/sbin, and /usr/local/bin. Maybe, in fact, the distribution copy of root's .profile should explicitly set the PATH for root so that it does not depend on a default that may (or may not) be hard-wired into root's shell. (This, however, would not cover the case of package operations by a desktop installation's non-root administrative user.) 3. I first learned about info hypertext in 1989. By the early 1990's I was using GNU Texinfo's install-info on Suns. IMO this name should belong to GNU. Variants or fronts for package management should have different names, e.g., dpkg-install-info. 4. [Bug 299020] Re: USB ports do not work after upgrade to 8.10
Long history of this bug on my part ... More info: After upgrading to 8.10 (?) my USB mouse did not move smoothly anymore -- unusable. In 9.04 (?) it worked sometimes, so I had to reboot several times to have normal mouse movements. In 10.04 the mouse works but not the more data intensive USB DVB-T stick: no smooth picture -- unwatchable. The same stick works great on my AMD desktop Ubuntu 10.04, and also on the here bug-reported Benq 7000 with WinXP. [Ubuntu-BD] USB boot problem
আমার ছোট ভাইয়ের acer aspire one d250 নেটবুকে usb পেন্ড্রাইভ থেকে বুট হচ্ছে না। আমি নিজেই এর আগে usb থেকে বুট করে আলাদা পার্টিশন করে উবুন্তু ৯.১০ ইন্সটল করে দিয়েছিলাম । কিন্তু উবুন্টু রিসোর্স বেশি ইউজ করার কারনে ব্যাকআপ পাওয়া যাচ্ছিল না। তাই উবুন্টু ১০.০৪ নেটবুক রিমিক্স দিতে চাচ্ছিলাম। কিন্তু নেটবুকটা এখন আর usb থেকে বুট হচ্ছে না। usb থেকে বুট করতে গেলে একটা কাল ডস স্ক্রীন আসে যাতে কারসরটা ব্লিঙ্ক করে। কিন্তু আর কিছুই হয়না। আমি উবুন্টু থেকে পরে উইন্ডোজ এবং ব্যাক আপ পার্টিশন দুটোই ডিলিট করে ext4 এ ফরম্যাট করেছি। কিন্তু এখন আর বুট করতে না পারায় উইন্ডোজ বা উবুন্টু কোনটাই ইন্সটল করতে পারছি না। এখন কি করা উচিত? সাহায্য করুন প্লিজ। -- S.Pulok -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu-bd.org Bangla Linux Forum | http://forum.linux.org.bd https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd

আপনি আপনার gnome পানেল এর sound icon এ ক্লিক করে sound প্রেফেরেন্সেস ওপেন করুন. ভলুমে সব unmute করা আছে কিনা চেক করুন., এরপর output tab এ যান. TProblem med trådlöst nätverkskort
Hej. Håller på att testa ett trådlöst nätverkskort i Ubuntu 10.04 som jag har lite problem med att få igång... Kör jag lspci -v får jag följande info om kortet 01:06.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR922X Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) Subsystem: D-Link System Inc Device 3a78 Flags: 66MHz, medium devsel, IRQ 16 Memory at fdee (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K] Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2 Kernel modules: ath9k och när jag kör lsmod | grep ath får jag följande ath9k 328989 0 mac80211 238448 1 ath9k ath 9723 1 ath9k cfg80211 148546 3 ath9k,mac80211,ath led_class 3764 1 ath9k Ubuntu verkar hitta kortet men det kommer inte upp när jag kör ifconfig eller i Networkmanager. Nu kör jag 64-bitars Ubuntu om det kanske kan påverka resultatet ngt... Ska testa att hämta hem live-cd'n med Ubuntu 10.04 senare idag för att testa...
