Hi
I have been using ubuntu for about two years now. But recently after
upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04 I have suffered from the biggest problem faced.
It doesn't boot up.
It shows the ubuntu logo and then after around three minutes it shows that
UUID path not found. Then the laptop goes off.
I have a lot of data in my ubuntu drive and can't afford to re-install as my
laptop has only two partitions one windows and one ubuntu.
Kindly help.

Hey guys ..

I am a 4th year, BE student from Mumbai. We have a local student society
called CESS for our college's Computer Department. We are planning to
have a seminar on Linux - Ubuntu this semester, i.e. before the 2nd week
of November this year. Does anyone in this community conduct such
seminars ?

We can bear costs, if any, for the seminar and a mediocre to great turn
up can be guaranteed (it will be compulsory for the BE students) !

Anticipating an early reply from the community. For reference, my email
ID is sid_mal...@hotmail.com

Respected Sir,

I am a Engineering student studying at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering
College, Aurangabad, Maharashtra & a active user/supporter of Ubuntu, LAMP.

We are organizing a National Level Technical Symposium here in our
college in MARCH 2010. This is our college's annual technical event &
growing with large response every year with >5000 visitors/participants
last year.

I am keen to plan event/exhibition/workshop/lecture talk on Ubuntu in
this symposium. This is a big opportunity to promote Ubuntu, that too in
a area like Marathwada. I am sure there has to be something we can
co-operate & organize in the upcoming event.

Kindly consider the request & let me inform about it.

Hi,

MPC8641D is AFAIK a dual core processor based on the PowerPC
architecture. Ubuntu officially has stopped support for PowerPC since
2007 and hence does not ship related kernels. However you can still
obtain the vanilla Linux Kernel from www.kernel.org and tweak it to
support your board or use Debian's PowerPC port
http://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/.

I am CC'ing the Ubuntu India mailing list also as there are lot more
experienced people out there who might be willing to help you. Also if
you havent done already please do subscribe to the Ubuntu India mailing
list https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Hope that helps.

thanks.
