[Bug 1665989] [NEW] Microphone icon showing without sound input device connected
Public bug reported: What happens: I do not have a microphone connected but the microphone volume bar is always shown when clicking on the speaker icon in the system indicator area on the top bar. The mixer does not show any sound input devices. What I expect: If I do not have a sound input device connected to my computer there should be no volume bar to control its volume. [Bug 1475925] [NEW] kauth-policy-gen missing localization
Public bug reported: In Kubuntu kauth-policy-gen is used to generate polkit config files (.policy) for particular packages. Although polkit does currently not allow localization, UI visible strings are contained in these config files. The package libqapt which is used by Muon Discover for example has a fully localized .actions file that is the input for kauth-policy- gen. However, those translations are currently not used since kauth- policy-gen only extracts the English version of each action defined. Effects of this bug: Translations for some UI strings in Kubuntu affecting security-relevant user interactions (e.g. asking for password to install updates) are not translated. Possible workaround/solution: Adapt kauth-policy-gen to create .policy files with action names according to the current system locale setting. This solution is very simple and does not require polkit to be localized since kauth-policy-gen will simply write strings in the .policy file that match the users' language. ** Affects: kauth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Hendrik Knackstedt (hennekn) Status: New ** Tags: i18n kubuntu wily ** Changed in: kauth (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Hendrik Knackstedt (hennekn) ** Tags added: kubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1475925 Title: kauth-policy-gen missing localization To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kauth/+bug/1475925/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: On a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 on my new HP Pavilion 15-020ng with Broadcom BCM43142 hybrid wifi/bluetooth chipset the official driver from Broadcom does not work correctly. Sometimes the wrong layout is already set right after boot and you have to change it before you are able to login or sometimes it happens when switching to another window. I have two Acer laptops, both have been upgraded from 13.10 to 14.04 and both have this problem. [Bug 416499] Re: Installer doesn't recognize Windows 7 NTFS partition properly
I am seeing this problem when trying to install Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS on a Lenovo ThinkCenter. I have been installing two similar PCs before that did not have this problem. This installer just says the whole disk is empty but there is already Windows 7 on it and Ubuntu does show the partitions in Nautlius after canceling the installer. The only difference between the 2 working PCs and the one that is not working is: For the first 2 Windows 7 was installed on the whole disk so I had to resize existing partitions. That worked and I could install Ubuntu on the so-created free space. For the other PC I recently installed Windows 7 so I chose partition size a bit smaller to leave some free space on the disk for Ubuntu that does not contain a partition. Maybe this free space does cause the problem? ** Also affects: ubiquity Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags added: precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416499 Title: Installer doesn't recognize Windows 7 NTFS partition properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubiquity/+bug/416499/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Only thing I found is this (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Specs/LanguagePackUpdatesSchedule) but it seems to be more general. If not, I think we should create documentation for this to have a clear step-by-step plan to follow when releasing updates. We should also determine the work required for LanguagePackUpdates and maybe consider releasing less (or none?) updates for non-LTS releases in favor of investing more time in correcting bugs and updating translations for LTS releases. Or we could provide LanguagePackUpdates for non-LTS releases in the Translators PPA without testing every update right away. As for the langpack updates, my understanding was that it was bi-weekly. Has it evolved ? Can anyone chime in on this topic ? I think, David wrote somewhere that they are exported bi-weekly but have to be tested and approved manually to be released to the general public. [Bug 911269] Re: evolution-exchange is ignoring already translated menu-items (Permissions..., Berechtigungen...)
I think you have to run the setup-utility and configure an exchange server. Otherwise Evolution won't even notice the extension. That's the reason why I cannot test it, because I don't have access to a valid exchange server. Nevertheless, this bug is fixed upstream and if the package got removed from Ubuntu anyway there is not much sense in trying to get this fixed for Precise since the chances are very low that a fix will ever be released (would need a SRU and translation bugs usually don't apply to this). If this is still a problem for anybody using Precise I suggest to install the package manually.
