[Bug 215217] Re: [Hardy] laptop function key + brightness keys combo activates twice if pressed once.
Do your laptop brightness keys work fine if you boot with the video module blacklisted and then kill gnome-power-manager? If so, what you're describing is probably a duplicate of bug #257827. I'm also experiencing several brightness level changes (like 5 out of 7) with g-p-m loaded in Intrepid, but only 2 if I kill it. -- [Hardy] laptop function key + brightness keys combo activates twice if pressed once. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 215217 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215217 I've noticed that when you blacklist the video module, g-p-m reads correctly the laptop_panel.brightness_in_hardware key (which should be true for these laptops). On the other hand, when the video module is not blacklisted, I get not found. Assuming false. So, that's why blacklisting the video module fixes this brightness problem in g-p-m for you. I *think* (please devs comment on this) the problem is g-p-m not reading the laptop_panel.brightness_in_hardware key correctly, and that should be the fix for this bug. It's highly probable that this is related to the iwl3945 driver. Unfortunately, I've experienced this bug even with the RF kill switch enabled (probably because it's still loading iwl3945). [Bug 258520] [NEW] eject hotkey doesn't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xkeyboard-config The eject hotkey (Fn+F10) in my Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop doesn't work as expected. When I press it in gnome-keybinding-properties, it behaves like it's constantly being pressed. That is, i can assign it (XF86Eject) to the Eject action by pressing Fn+F10, but then if I click in other action it automatically tries to assign the XF86Ejection shortcut. I've found that after pressing the Super (Windows) key, it stops acting like it's constantly being pressed.
