[Bug 1946235] Re: pcscd won't install due to bad dependency version
Ok. This was probably a bug in the update-manager that only manifested symptoms in my case in pcscd. I noticed the only place 'hirsute' was mentioned was in /etc/apt/ is one file, /etc/apt/sources.list.d/system.sources there. Once I changed all instances of 'hirsute' to 'impish' in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/system.sources it was possible to get pcscd installed as normal. So I guess this is either solved or should be relabeled as applying to 'update-manager' -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1946235 Title: pcscd won't install due to bad dependency version To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcsc-lite/+bug/1946235/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1946235] Re: pcscd won't install due to bad dependency version
Yes, I've done the following. apt update apt upgrade However, qemu is not mentioned in any part of the output from those steps. Though it is installed: $ apt-cache policy qemu-system-x86 | head -n 3 qemu-system-x86: Installed: 1:6.0+dfsg-2expubuntu1 Candidate: 1:6.0+dfsg-2expubuntu1 The problems with pcscd arose after using the update-manager to move from 21.04 to 21.10-beta. pcscd is a dependency for another package which is the main reason for using Ubuntu instead of another distro. Specifically it is a smart card reader needed to interact with an increasing number of government sites and services. After removing qemu-block-extra, I get the following when trying to install pcscd : # apt install pcscd Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... [Bug 1862768] [NEW] Network manager ignores LTE USB Modem
Public bug reported: I notice that the network manager in Cinnamon for the testing version of Ubuntu does not show activity for an LTE USB modem (model MF831) even when it is in use. [Bug 1491360] [NEW] New Engimail encrypts with the wrong key
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: With the most recent upgrade of Enigmail on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, my previous settings are lost and it is not using the key it used to use. Instead of using the active OpenPGP key it is using one of my archived, disabled keys. When I send a message to myself, it tells me it is using the right key, "Note: The message is encrypted for the following User ID's / Keys: 0xDEF20AB6" yet it still encrypts with the wrong key. What I expect would happen would be that Enigmail would use the same key it used to use (which is the one it says it is using) instead of the wrong key. Furthermore the wrong key is long since expired. This prevents sending or receiving encrypted mail. [Bug 1067301] Re: gnome-keyring does not support ssh-add -c
In 14.04.3 LTS it seems to be fixed so it is possible to load a key into the agent using 'ssh-add -c' but then the confirmation dialog pops up and does not accept the key's passphrase. Resulting in : Agent admitted failure to sign using the key. Permission denied (publickey,keyboard-interactive). However, just pressing 'OK' on the gnome-ssh-askpass dialog goes ahead with the login. So the input field should be removed from gnome-ssh- askpass or else a different tool used, since entering anything in it causes the login to fail. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067301 Title: gnome-keyring does not support ssh-add -c To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-keyring/+bug/1067301/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1471415] [NEW] clock date ignores xfce language settings
Public bug reported: The clock defaults to %d %b but the locale is wrong. The clock appears to use the system locale rather than what the user has chosen for their language. What happens is that with %d %b the clock shows the month in the wrong language. What would be the expected behavior is that the clock shows the month in the language selected by the user in XFCE itself. For example if /etc/default/locale has this: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_TIME=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_MONETARY=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_PAPER=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_NAME=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_ADDRESS=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_TELEPHONE=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_MEASUREMENT=fi_FI.UTF-8 LC_IDENTIFICATION=fi_FI.UTF-8 then the clock displays the month in Finnish regardless of which language the user has set in XFCE, such as Swedish or English. The user's XFCE settings should override the locale for all XFCE programs and applets. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Release:14.04 $ apt-cache policy xfce4-panel xfce4-panel: Installerad: 4.11.0-0ubuntu1 Kandidat:4.11.0-0ubuntu1 Versionstabell: *** 4.11.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 Package: xfce4-panel 4.11.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-41.57~14.04.1-generic 3.16.7-ckt11 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-41-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.11 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Sat Jul 4 16:26:08 2015 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/xfce4-panel InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-06-28 (5 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Trusty Tahr - Release amd64 (20150218.1) SourcePackage: xfce4-panel UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: xfce4-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1471415 Title: clock date ignores xfce language settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/1471415/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1460663] [NEW] Cannot find YubiKey Edge - No YubiKey Inserted
Public bug reported: I've got a new YubiKey Edge in the default shipped configuration that the YubiKey Personalization Tool is not finding. Even though the key is inserted, the Personalization Tool GUI shows the error No YubiKey Inserted This happens even when the YubiKey is plugged in and the LED is lit, the tool 'lsusb' shows that the key is found $ lsusb |grep -i yubi Bus 003 Device 027: ID 1050:0403 Yubico.com and if I press the button, I get a string of 44 characters (letters) plus a return. e.g. ccetgkbrtectnlhnjnkdudjleuinjlifrhurncjn It also is recognized in the validation web service at https://demo.yubico.com/start/otp/standard But the YubiKey Personalization Tool on 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS GNU/Linux is not finding it. [Bug 1397652] Re: /dev/random and /dev/urandom world writeable
Thanks. It is probably my lack of understanding. The manual page for random(4) uses 644 for both and show writing to urandom to set the random seed. But if writing to the devices by non-root users does not reduce the entropy then the original aspect of the bug is invalid, though maybe the man page could use a few words of clarification. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1397652 Title: /dev/random and /dev/urandom world writeable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1397652/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1394097] [NEW] IN_MODIFY does not trigger on file modification in some accounts
Public bug reported: IN_MODIFY does not trigger on file modification in some accounts. The results are inconsistent. Either it triggers for one user or it does not. One time, changing the order of users inside /etc/incron.allow *seemed* to change which user could use IN_MODIFY, but changing the order back to the original did not switch the behaviour back. [Bug 1394086] [NEW] IN_MODIFY does not trigger once on file modification
Public bug reported: In incrontab the event symbol IN_MODIFY does not trigger an action just once on file modification. So with the following root incrontab file: # incrontab -l /tmp/Y/y IN_MODIFY /usr/bin/zenity --title=A-OK --info --text=MODIFY file --display=:0.0 If the file is modified with touch then nothing happens. Changing the access and modification times of the file should trigger under IN_MODIFY If the file is modified with a redirect ( eg. date /tmp/Y/y ) then zenity is called twice instead of once. The file was modified only once, so incron should trigger only once. Yes, there are problems on the Alternate, but different ones. The alternate won't complete installation either, but for different reasons so no data on the GUI can be gathered. The logs are from during the installation process but after the freeze.
