[Bug 223103] Re: Multimedia playback broken with pulseaudio and alsa
Sound works without any tweaks using 9.04 and stays connected to pulse with my m2496 card. I still receive some pops/clicks in the sound when 2 programs compete. For example, using rhythmbox for music and pidgin receives a message and makes a sound it will click as it plays both. As far as this bug report, pulse seems to work with pulse audio now without any major problems. -- Multimedia playback broken with pulseaudio and alsa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/223103 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 379651] [NEW] snd-atiixp module glitching
Public bug reported: I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04 on a Toshiba L25 S121 laptop using the snd-atiixp module. After playing a sound it will play it fine for up to 15 seconds then start echoing and glitching repeatedly until killed. I've received these errors ati IXP rev2 unknown codec lspci states that its loaded but its capability is access denied I've followed guides for this problem for similar laptops with no luck i.e. snd-atiixp ac97_codec=0 in /etc/modprobe.d/alsabase.conf and adding myself to the pulse audio related groups and using padevchooser to make sure everything is set. I've been searching the forums for a solution for days with no luck. Any other information to a fix for this I would be glad to give. [Bug 379667] Re: emptying trash hardlocks system
using the terminal: #cd /home/user/.local/share/Trash/info/ #rm file names I was able to get rid of everything in my trash, but 1 file would still display in the nautilus trash:///. I used the 'empty trash' button which deleted the lone file and froze my computer right after. On restart trash is emptied and I am able to use the trash like normal. I'm not sure what was wrong with that one file, I had read/write permissions and everything. [Bug 354967] Re: pidgin crashes after extended use
I would like to reopen this bug, It's the same as before but less important. If I have pidgin running and my computer goes to a screen saver when I come back pidgin will be using way to much cpu (20ish %) which makes my computer run sluggish until I kill pidgin and start it again. I can still use pidgin just fine while its doing this and it wont crash which is better then before, but there must be a leak or something in the program. I haven't found a way to prove this is happening. using pidgin -d for example. It will always just say that I killed it but doesn't mention the cpu usage or anything relevant. This reproduces every time I'm running pidgin and my computer goes to screensaver. [Bug 292428] Re: [Ubuntu 8.10] Can't have sound with PulseAudio at M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496 soundcard
same here, Sound works when i enter gdm because it doesn't use pulse, if i kill pulse i can get sound using only alsa. I tried upgrading to 9.13 from the default 9.10 and it would work under failsafe gnome but errors at login under default gnome complaining about pulse-session. I have followed the guides to get pulseaudio working perfect and have had it working in the past on alpha-beta builds of 8.10 but no luck on the fresh install. My understanding is that because this card does not have a PCM control it confuses pulse. Editing the default.pa file doesn't seem to be noticed when changed to use m2496. changing the sink under padevchoser to m2496 or the device_id provided by the working 9.13 just crashes 9.10. asoundconf changes also dont help, alsa is perfect but there is something going on with pa9.10. side note, when i plug a uvc webcam in pulse will recognize it and try to use the mic as the default sound card but will not acknowledge m2496. suggestions? -- [Ubuntu 8.10] Can't have sound with PulseAudio at M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496 soundcard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292428 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can reproduce this as many times as possible, it happens anytime i use rhythmbox after the last pulseaudio update. I think it was a day or two ago. But i listed the version number of pulse I am using. If there is some specific information you would like me to gather just let me know.
