[Bug 290498] Re: linux-rt restricted to one CPU
so I would compile for Athlon64 to get optimisations at a guess? compiling was way to easy compared to my past efforts. most should find it a cinch given detailed instructions. I got some weird errors installing the deb because I installed the kernel first then the headers and then tried reinstalling the kernel but make-kpkg doesn't seem to make packages capable of re-installation instead one must remove and install again. without the headers I couldn't get dkms to compile nvidia 180 drivers (duh). as for ubuntustudio team not not doing this stuff. maybe the kernel doesn't require so much patching now and they just haven't picked up on that yet ...? then again, I don't know how patched the kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/ is, but the one I tried from kernel.org using the same procedure paniced at boot with a sync problem (Turion cores go out of sync). -- linux-rt restricted to one CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290498 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 279984] Re: compiz interferes with jackd realtime audio playback
this is using hardy updated from gutsy and feisty. I recently changed the graphics card from a gforce 7900gs to radeon 1600 pro pci-express and before that I upgraded to a MA790X-DS4 motherboard, phenom 9550 CPU from DFI lanparty NF4-ultra Socket 939 CPU. in both cases, before and after the change in graphics card, this bug happened. but before I changed motherboard I had a different problem where jackd kept dyeing. no proposed updates are not enabled since they made my system unstable (surprise surprise). my laptop (hpcompaqv6001au) has Ibex ... haven't tested that yet. the previous problem to this one I solved on my laptop by updating to Ibex. and yes from nvidia to fglrx with no change in the bug. I have the standard restricted drivers installed (no envy or compiled). -- compiz interferes with jackd realtime audio playback https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279984 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 231085] Re: jackd crashes using freebob and firewire devices
The key here is cannot complete execution of the processing graph this has been happening to me since I upgraded to Hardy everything is fine when using alsa but freebob is very unstable and seems to be dependant on CPU processing amount, if you look at the forums this has been happening to quite a few people with FP10's lately, and M-Audio 1010lt's. sometime the connection stays but mostly dies after some time or quite immediately. ** Also affects: ubuntustudio Importance: Undecided Status: New -- jackd crashes using freebob and firewire devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231085 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 264201] [NEW] jackd crashed using freebob cannot complete execution of processing graph ... zombified
Public bug reported: using the jackd in hardy via my hp compaq v6000au laptop with mini firewire port I get all this processing graph crap and then jack crashes but firewire connection remains active and requires reset or a power OFF/ON. I have a presonus firepod (FP10) which with previous versions of jackd and freebob worked, maybe not perfectly, but this is a serious step backwards. there are also reports on the ubuntu forums of this happening to people with M-Audio cards also. could this be a cable problem? or a problem with getting realtime priority? I have taken all the necessary steps to ensure realtime priority. 13:12:08.416 Patchbay deactivated. 13:12:08.695 Statistics reset. 13:12:08.724 ALSA connection graph change. 13:12:08.922 ALSA connection change. 13:12:24.005 Startup script... 13:12:24.007 killall pulseaudio killall esd pulseaudio: no process killed 13:12:24.432 Startup script terminated with exit status=256. 13:12:24.433 JACK is starting... 13:12:24.435 /usr/bin/jackd -v -R -P75 -p128 -t200 -dfreebob -r96000 -p1024 -n5 -D getting driver descriptor from /usr/lib64/jack/jack_alsa.so getting driver descriptor from /usr/lib64/jack/jack_oss.so getting driver descriptor from /usr/lib64/jack/jack_freebob.so 13:12:24.449 JACK was started with PID=7829. getting driver descriptor from /usr/lib64/jack/jack_dummy.so jackd 0.109.2 Copyright 2001-2005 Paul Davis and others. jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details JACK compiled with System V SHM support. server `default' registered registered builtin port type 32 bit float mono audio registered builtin port type 8 bit raw midi clock source = system clock via clock_gettime loading driver .. 13:12:24.573 Server configuration saved to /home/vivy/.jackdrc. 13:12:24.575 Statistics reset. 13:12:24.622 Client activated. 13:12:24.632 JACK connection graph change. new client: freebob_pcm, id = 1 type 1 @ 0x62b630 fd = -1 Enhanced3DNow! detected SSE2 detected Freebob using Firewire port 0, node -1 new buffer size 1024 new client: qjackctl, id = 2 type 2 @ 0x7f9eae71d000 fd = 6 Enhanced3DNow! detected SSE2 detected LibFreeBoB MSG: FreeBoB Streaming Device Init LibFreeBoB MSG: Using FreeBoB lib version libfreebob 1.0.7 LibFreeBoB MSG: Device information: LibFreeBoB MSG: Device options: LibFreeBoB MSG: Port : 0 LibFreeBoB MSG: Device Node Id : -1 LibFreeBoB MSG: Samplerate : 96000 LibFreeBoB MSG: Period Size : 1024 LibFreeBoB MSG: Nb Buffers : 5 LibFreeBoB MSG: Directions : 0 ++ jack_rechain_graph(): client qjackctl: start_fd=5, execution_order=0. client qjackctl: wait_fd=12, execution_order=1 (last client). -- jack_rechain_graph() showDevice: not implemented 13:12:26.175 JACK connection graph change. [Bug 122577] Re: system freeze on resume
yes have installed hardy and mine is up to date. I get the odd freeze but from things like putting the lid down and raising the lid to quickly. quirks are no longer necessary and I don't require noapic .etc. It was freezing maybe every 3rd time (i.e boot, suspend, resume, suspend, resume, suspend, resume, freeze) yet again no clues in the logs so? behavior seems to change with each kernel update so maybe this will cure itself. -- system freeze on resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
