I would like to buy some Ubuntu merchandise. I shall be grateful if you could suggest ways to buy them in India only. regards, Bamdev Mishra I think the previous replies went only to the list :-) It would be nice if Ubuntu merchandise were available locally but I wonder how much effort that will be for a potentially small market. I'd recently (about a month ago) ordered via the official online shop https://shop.canonical.com/ using my PayPal account and the items got delivered to my place in Pune. Initially I ordered some stickers and pens as a test to see if it reached okay which it did. Then I ordered the 1gb USB flash pen drive along with key ring and that reached too. A few months ago I had tried to order stickers using credit card but after accepting payment they quickly refunded/cancelled the order with a message about possible credit card fraud detected thus cancelled but maybe it will work now. Sorry this is OT - but I've heard of this happen with a lot of people from India (and in fact from all over south-east asia) when attempting online transactions from their credit cards. It seems like cards from asia are flagged because of a high incidence of fraud in the region - surely there's got to be better ways of protecting against fraud than black-listing an entire region ... ? Just seems a bit racist somehow ... Anyways - sorry for the OT:) -Sanjay PS: I've got Hardy amd64 live installer on the pen drive so I can plug into PCs and install Ubuntu if needed :-) -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

It is done through https://shop.canonical.com/ and is sent through the same process that all online merchandise systems work. IMO nobody else than Canonical are allowed to sell Official Ubuntu Merchandise anywhere, as the merchandise is not from the community but the company supporting the project. I agree that my knowledge is limited, so if you can prove otherwise I would be eager to know the details :) -- --- With Regards, Parthan technofreak gpg 2FF01026 blog http://blog.technofreak.in -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Not sure though, but, it will be really good for the FOSS community in India to be able to buy merchandise.
