Re: [ubuntu-marketing] Ubuntu 'rough' poster

2006-11-05 Thread Chris Warburton
Hi all! I couldn't help noticing the request for artists, so I thought I'd respond. I am starting up a Free Software student society here in Sheffield, UK, but since I am pretty lacking in programmerness (apologies to my Computer Science lecturer) I thought I'd get people's attention with some posters. At the moment I am sketching out some images for various purposes, and if you want to request something Ubuntu-related then go ahead and email me and I'll do it for free. Someone suggested sticking them up on DeviantArt, so I have finally started using my account there: http://warbo.deviantart.com (these were knocked up over a couple of days between lectures, so they are by no means my best work. If you want something in a different style then I am also pretty good with pencils, watercolour, GIMP and Inkscape, although they can take much longer to produce)I have far too much admin to go through to get this society going, but I should start becoming more active over
the next week, since I have no Physics or Maths lectures. Anyway, I am offering my skilled hands to those of you who have some great ideas, but have no way of getting them realised. I'll do my best to get through commisions, but if I get loads then it may take a while :)Cheers,Chris "getting Ubuntu for free gave me a guilty concience, so I feel I need to do more to help out" Warburton Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com --

Right, after wasting two days with bzr, I've done what I should have done first: stuck the images up on a server I actually have access to...After doing a great deal of asking for help complaining in our IRC channel, that is.
The Ubuntu posters are currently up at http://ubuntu-ca.org/Ubuntu_roughcut_poster/ If someone who can actually make bzr function wants to put these up, please do!

An edgier style for our Edgy release? Maybe!

Now, I must resist the urge to do Mark has a posse posters in the same
style... must resist... Hmm... Tux has a posse, anyone?

 Brian,
 possibly addicted to Inkscape...

Confirming the 404 error on both the images.

 Brian,

The issue is that my brother didn't push to bzr, he simply scp'ed them up.

Gah, true. I forgot that that whole website is controlled by bzr, to be honest, and just created the directory dumped everything via the link I set up ages ago in Nautilus.

I've no idea how bzr works, so I'll forward these to someone to push them up, or poke at it myself later this evening.

Now, how come the URLs worked from my machine last night? Not from Nautilus, but from Opera?
