Re: FW: Similar wireless issue
Ok I have tried this now with my network connections which are locked and I do not get any networks visible (windows sees about 10 as does my M200 running Ubuntu desktop). If I run iwlist scan I get 'wlan0 No scan results'. Is there any way I can uninstall the card and reinstall it? Something is obviously broken in a big way and the machine is not much use to me unless I can connect to the network wirelessly. Any ideas? Thanks, Ryan. Rotation and calibration
I have screen rotation working using Xrandr and a launcher which is added to the panel. The problem is that when I rotate, the Touch screen is way off. Is there any way to save two different calibration files and swap them out via CLI so that I can add the command to the launcher when it rotates? Also if there is an easier way, I would love to use that instead. Re: Feedback
Ok not sure what happened to what I actually said in this email but what I was asking was, is there anyway that is easy and accessible to full screen apps? While the top and left bar are very handy while I am sorting out what I am going to do, they take up valuable real estate on the screen when I am settling in to do something like edit a document or read through web pages. It would be amazing if you could have a button to full screen the app and switch back and forth easily. Does this already exist? If not it would be a huge bonus for me since without it, I still need Ubuntu desktop installed along side mobile. This is just my opinion and others may disagree. I just blew away my version while trying to install desktop alongside it and am reinstalling it again now. I also noticed that my after market Dell 3G card is recognised in Mobile. I have a SIM card in it and will test it out to see if I can connect with it (I put it in myself). Install not working properly- Error 15 upon reboot
Hiya, I am able to run it just fine in the live version. At first I tried to install it into a 20GB partition I had created for this but that failed with an error 15 on reboot. I liked it so much I decided to format the whole hard drive and install it, unfortunately it still does not boot and gets an error 15 upon reboot. I have tried about 15 times using different settings in the partitions on install. I have also reformatted in Ubuntu 8.04 and then tried again but no luck. Anyone else having a problem with the install? Any ideas on what is going wrong? It is a Q1 Ultra which has no trouble running MID and 8.04. Any ideas? Hrm. If just rebooting doesn't fix it for you, you might try running through the install again, select Continue using the CD (yes, it's not a CD), and doing the apt-get update; apt-get install aptitude ... stuff at that point to see if you can get it working (chroot to /target in this case, I think). Aside from that you could try to make the chroot more robust with something like `mount -t proc proc /proc`. In the worst case, installing Ubuntu Desktop, installing the ubuntu-mobile package, and uninstalling the ubuntu-desktop package ought to work. Mind you, I've not tried any of these: for me it just worked with the forced installation of the kernel. On another note, once one has a booted working system, it's probably a good ideal to `apt-get install linux` to make sure to track kernel upgrades for security fixes, etc. -- Emmet HIKORY -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile
No wireless connections visible
Ok I have it installed and working great with the exception of the wireless connections. They worked fine in the live edition but now they won't work at all. Wired works great, I updated everything and rebooted but still wireless does not see any networks. Talk to you soon, Ryan. -- Ubuntu-mobile mailing list Ubuntu-mobile@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-mobile
