mender-client package outdated in kinetic
Hi Ubuntu MOTU Developers, I am one of the uploaders of mender-client package in Debian [1] I just realized that the package is still in version for 3.0.0 Ubuntu Kinetic [2]. However, by the time of the Debian Import Freeze (August 25 according to [3]), it should have been at least 3.3.0 in Debian unstable. Is there anything wrong with this package that requires my attention? I know it is too late for Kinetic, I just want to understand what is going on before the next release :) I couldn't find any open bug in bugs.launchpad.net or any other indication of QA issues in packages.ubuntu.com Any guidance is appreciated. And whilst at it, 3.4.0+ds1-2 is stuck in -proposed because of an autopkgtest regression; cf: https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/proposed-migration/update_excuses.html#mender-client. I've re-triggered the autopkgtest on all the architectures so hopefully it should pass but should it still fail, it'll be really helpful if you can take a look and see what's wrong. Re: mender-client package outdated in kinetic
Hi Steve, Thank you for your explanation (I wrongly assumed it was in unstable by then and not in experimental!) and thank you for the history link. Bottom line is that nothing is "wrong" with this package and it will just be picked up next Ubuntu release. Thanks again and have a nice day ahead! Lluís M. OK, I've re-triggered the tests for armhf (which is now passing) and amd64 (which is stuck in the queue - which is clogged atm). Once they're indeed green, I'll trigger tests of the mender-client with appropriate re-triggers (if the golang* package itself migrates, then it'll be a simple re-trigger). - u -- Ubuntu-motu mailing list Ubuntu-motu@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-motu

Re: mender-client package outdated in kinetic
Hi Utkarsh, There is a problem with the chain of dependencies: autopkgtest for mender-client 3.4.0+dst1-2 [1] fails with: Broken autopkgtest-satdep:amd64 Depends on golang-github-mendersoftware-mender-artifact-dev:amd64 < none | 3.6.0+ds1-2 @un uH > (>= 3.9.0) Then, autopkgtest for golang-github-mendersoftware-mender-artifact 3.9.0+ds1-1 [2] fails with: Broken autopkgtest-satdep:amd64 Depends on golang-github-mendersoftware-openssl-dev:amd64 < none | 1.1.0-3ubuntu2 @un uH > (>= 1.1.0-4~) However, autopkgtest for golang-github-mendersoftware-openssl 1.1.0-4 [3] is passing. So this one should be fine. [1] https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/m/mender-client/lunar/amd64 [2] https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/m/golang-github-mendersoftware-mender-artifact/lunar/amd64 [3] https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/g/golang-github-mendersoftware-openssl/lunar/amd64 What is the process here? I think you can re-trigger tests for golang-github-mendersoftware-mender-artifact and then mender-client. Cheers, Lluís M.
