Hello word - Manuel Re

2015-01-20 Thread Manuel
Hi ubuntu-quality,

I just join this group with the idea to make the world a better place
through opensource and I'd like to do it through testing and improving the
quality of my favorite OS. Following a brief resume:

Fifteen years of experience in software testing, including vertical domain
in media, bank and insurance sectors and five years of web and mobile
application testing. Handle test creation, requirement analysis and
translating business process into test cases. In the last five years I also
embrace software development and system integration to better interact with
developers during the development/test/release process.

Consistently deliver quality result on time. Recognised for technical
problem-solving expertise. Won “Excellency Delivery Award” from the client
News Corp Australia for meeting the target date and achieving high quality
standards.

Seamlessly integrated to team as member or leader, making significant
contribution to the success of the projects that embrace support, financial
and commercial aspects. Use strong communication, interpersonal and team
leadership skills to invigorate team. Mediate, share best practice, liaise
with management, focus on key issues and smoothly run projects.

Re: New Tester Introduction

2015-01-20 Thread Nicholas Skaggs

On 01/18/2015 06:04 PM, Anthony Papillion wrote:

Greetings Everyone,

I'm Anthony a long-time x/Ubuntu user and even long-time general Linux
user (my first distro was Redhat Linux back in 2001). I've wanted to get
involved in the project for a while now but, though I'm a professional
software developer, didn't feel that dev was the right place for me.
Finally, I came across Marketing and Testing and these seem like good fits.

So here I am, a 40 year old Oklahoma guy, dipping his toe into Xubuntu
testing. I'm hoping to get involved with ISO testing and bug triaging.

Hope to contribute!
Anthony

Welcome! We can always use some more iso testing and bug triaging! I'll
point you to our wiki page if you've not seen it:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam. I would encourage you to hang out on IRC
during your testing and say hello! I'm 'balloons' on freenode.
#ubuntu-quality is the channel to join.

Looking forward to working with you,

Nicholas

Community Milestone Process

2015-01-20 Thread Walter Lapchynski
I have created a document¹ reflecting the roles the community members
are to play in the milestone process. If you have not heard of this, I
encourage you to consider helping for future milestone releases.
Thanks and happy testing ;)

For participating flavors, alpha 2 images are coming online. Keep an eye
