Changing daemon $prog $DLM_CONTROLD_OPTS to start_daemon $prog $DLM_CONTROLD_OPTS doesn't seem constructive. The dependency on the `daemon` binary seems to be missing and I don't see it added in the `debdiff` for `wily` (and didn't check the others). I don't think that providing the example configuration files would obviate the need to use the documentation. No one ever said anything pointing in that direction! If you use the documentation, then you don't need the sample files. Agreed, but no argument against my proposal. Also, there's no requirement that those file names be used. Don't understand that point neither. Just add commented pointers in `main.cf` Co. I've got the same bug. Additional information: If I use the vlan tag in the capture filter I only see frames with stacked vlans. If I use vlan 1 I will only see frames with vöan 1 as the inner tag. More: The vlan information in the frame I capture is at location ether[14,2]. If I filter on that location the frames are filtered at [18,2] although I did not have any vlan in the capture filter string. Public bug reported: There's currently no (easy) way to figure out the form of content of `/etc/qemu/bridge.conf`. Some howtos (e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/QEMU#Bridged_networking_using_qemu- bridge-helper) mention `bridge.conf.sample` which is not available according to `apt-file` and the official wiki at wiki.qemu.org doesn't mention the file at all, it seems necessary, though, because specification of `-net nic -net bridge,br=bridge0` fails with `failed to get mtu of bridge `bridge0': No such device` (can't be investigated further because setup is completely unclear). Any chance of getting this fix backported to 12.04? Hello! When I got the machine, I installed Ubuntu 6.06.1 LTS. From time to time, I installed additional packages, including Dovecot. Also from time to time, I'd do `apt-get update` followed by `apt-get upgrade`. [Bug 445028] [NEW] Intermittent segfault in var_hrswrun
Public bug reported: I am running Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS, upgraded from 6.06 LTS. At intermittent times, snmpd dies with a segfault. Once I restart it, snmpd behaves normally, but will eventually die again. The interval between starting snmpd and having it die by segfault can be as small as an hour and as large as 3 weeks. I have a backtrace from the most recent segfault, which I am attaching. The version of snmpd and libsnmp15 used to generate the backtrace is 5.4.1~dfsg-4ubuntu4.3, which is currently in hardy-proposed. I originally thought that this was part of bug #200614, as I was seeing the same problem. That is why I am using the hardy-proposed version of snmpd, is because I thought it would fix the segfaults. Hi Chuck, I have done backtraces before, but this one was a little more unusual for me. The last time I needed a backtrace, I was able to capture the daemon's full command line, then run it through GDB. In this case, I'm thinking the offending program is located at /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot- auth, it is run by the dovecot daemon as needed, and then exits with a result (or, in this case, a crash) shortly after starting. In this case, I stopped dovecot, sudo-ed into root, ran `ulimit -c unlimited`, ran dovecot manually, and had my IMAP client try a login. That caused dovecot-auth to die again (as expected), and dropped a core file in /var/run/dovecot. I installed both dovecot-common-dbgsym and libpam0g-dbgsym packages, ran `gdb /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-auth core`, and then ran the 5 GDB commands requested in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace. I've installed the updated snmp, snmpd, libsnmp15, libsnmp-base, libsnmp-dev, and libsnmp-perl packages onto one of my Hardy servers. After an hour, things have been running OK, with no assertions or other weird log entries, although I do see one new log entry: Sep 24 15:27:09 npbnagb snmptrapd[16645]: Warning: no access control information configured. This receiver will *NOT* accept any incoming notifications. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ldap-utils When trying to run ldapsearch against my local LDAP server, I receive the following error (simplified): TLS: peer cert untrusted or revoked (0x82) ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1) However, if I try the same operation from a 6.06 box I've got, it works fine. Here's the command: ldapsearch -H ldaps://mydomain.name -d 99 Here's the only option I've got set in /etc/ldap/ldap.conf: TLS_CACERT /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt Please note that connecting via openssl to the same LDAP server seems to work just fine (even from the Hardy box): openssl s_client -connect mydomain.name:636 -showcerts -CAfile /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt From what I've read, I'm guessing this has something to do with the switch to gnutls in Hardy. If it makes any difference, my SSL certificate is one of the cheap ones from GoDaddy (pain in the ass to get working, by the way). I've attached the standard and debug output from the ldapsearch command. If I specify the following option in my /etc/ldap/ldap.conf file, I can connect just fine: TLS_REQCERTallow My Hardy 8.04.1 box has ldap-utils v2.4.9-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 installed, along with libgnutls v2.0.4-1ubuntu2.1.
