It seemingly does exist since May 2007:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-studio-devel/

IOW it does exist as long as the users list does exist:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-studio-users/

LAD would be the wrong place for distribution development.

Btw. the prefix for the users list is removed.

Hi Ralph
This paragraph of yours (pasted below) really resonates with me, and I
suggest you post it as a standalone to the whole Ubuntu community; the
whole Linux community, for that matter.
I actually treat myself as a noobie, because stuff keeps changing all the
time.
Everybody should remember they are all noobies at something unless they
have given up on curiosity and growth, and try to treat everybody like they
hope to be treated in those situations.
BTW -- always nice to have somebody who helped create something important
out themselves in a modest way so I can thank them. Accordingly, thank you
Ralph, thank you a lot!

"If you want to attract noobies to a system this is
not the right way to go about it. It is very difficult indeed for one
who is focussing on learning a new OS to have to wade through off-topic
messages and comments about their posting skills or the suitability of
the OS for them, especially if they are self-conscious. Please try to
put yourself in the OP's shoes before responding to a query from a
self-professed newcomer to Linux. I think it also helps to assume any
new poster is a noobie unless you know for sure they are not, and treat
them accordingly."

No, I never do. I wouldn't want to install from a backup as there might be
some problems which I would be unable to identify and whatever caused my
computer to stop working properly could happen again. I feel that it's
always better to effect a fresh installation. After all, that doesn't take
too long. I routinely (at least once a day, believe it or not) back up my
data (folders and files) to external drives so that it is easy to restore
my stored information. I haven't had to do a fresh installation in quite
some time though I'll probably do so on all of our computers once
v.14.04LTS is introduced.

ubuntu-studio-users is the better choice, since it's only one sign more,
but better to read and it sticks with the list's name.

I think the best is just to stick with the name of the mail list. That's
the least confusing IMO.

I would have preferred the list to have been named ubuntustudio-users,
but since it's not, I'll just add [ubuntu-studio-users] as the prefix.

I don't have admin rights yet, but working on that.

ubuntustudio-devel

At least four to six additional signs are needed, so it should be
similar to

"ubuntu-studio-usr"
"ubuntu-studio-user"

since we also have the devel list

No, on the list it's often called US only, in context of an email body
this is ok, but note, people might search the Internet to get help.

"ubs" is a useless abbreviation, it should be "ubuntu-studio" or
similar, including the full name, but please no CamelCase.

Other lists also provide a sane prefix, e.g. "xubuntu-users".

To sort mails into folders you easily could sort by "mailing list" or
"To".

If your MUA usually should be "Microsoft Windows Live Mail
15.4.3555.308" and assumed it doesn't provide filtering by "mailing
list" and/or "To", reconsider to use another MUA.

But I agree that it is helpful, if you don't move it to a separated
folder. I only use individual folders for mailing lists with high
traffic, or if they are very important for my needs, so Ubuntu Studio
Users mails are simply kept in the inbox. I would welcome a prefix too.

Ralf

No, on my machine I don't find a solution. Only 2 of 8 ADAT channels are
available by jackd for my HDSPe AIO. I'm an experienced Linux audio
user. To verify if I'm simply to stupid to use HDSPmixer correctly I
installed Windows, but on Windows I'm able to use HDSPmixer aka
TotalMix.

Any hints are still welcome!

Btw. I also get hundreds of xruns using this professional card, even
with high latency on Linux. No issues on Windows and no issues with my
Envy24 cards with low latency on Linux on the same machine.

FWIW don't you backup your Linux? I wouldn't make a new install, but
restore from a backup.

When somebody ask if he should get a RME HDSPe AIO I reported the issues
I experience and recommended not to buy the card. The man who has
written the driver insulted me and spread lies about me, but didn't help
me to fix the issues :).

Ok, again a mix of top and bottom posting and even the signature isn't
snipped, plus the name of the thread is "Linux joke!".

Communication becomes impossible, IOW troubleshooting, providing help is
impossible and even if it would be possible to help, other couldn't
benefit from this thread, since nobody who runs into an issue with HDMI,
will search the Internet for "Linux joke!".

This is a disgusting style. Could you all please stop this and take care

there are some others out there who are the egomaniacs. There are vast
numbers of flame wars were Linus wasn't involved and FWIW I wasn't

You wag the finger into the wrong direction.
It's good that at least "Linux" aka the kernel is that stable, since
user space, especially the desktop environments, often are a PITA.

IMO it can't harm to post a joke from time to time, however, I'm to
