Re: Localize uNav 0.65 (Full localization option) (Costales) (Danilo ?egan)

2017-01-23 Thread Marcin Xc
For my language I deleted "by". I made a space. If You take any other GPS
device from Garmin, TomTom etc. there will be no "by". Kiss- keep it simply
stupid- Połisch Anna, German Thomas, English Susanna. Especially on small
devices like E4.5 there is no need to make things more complicated.

This is, in general, a very bad string composition approach.

For translations, it's best to do something like the following:

"{language}. By {author}."

(or "%s. By %s." with a comment/context explaining what the first and
second %s are)

The reason is that some languages might have a different word order,
might not even have "by" and so forth.

Cheers,
Danilo

Hi! There are fast POIs, just 1 click for searching them. Then this is an
editor for them. it is the title header.
Best regards.
Hannie, I think it is a FAST EDITOR of POI. I understand it as an easy to
open (FAST) editor somewhere on the screen that You either want to see or
not instead of opening Settings menu. Editor means probably, that You are
able to edit the list of Your Points Of Interest.

The use of word "nearest" when we mean "POI" is pretty confusing.

Sorry to bother you again about the string "Fast Nearest Editor:". I
still do not get it. What is the meaning of "Editor" in this string?
What is the relation with Points of Interest? Can you enter nearest POIs
in your smartphone using an editor like Gedit in a fast way? I prefer
not to translate this string until I understand the meaning of it.

2017-01-18 Thread Costales
Hi Luo,

1. The current road becomes into a new road

A driving message, you're in a highway and that will convert to
another one highway.

2. A voice
3. A notification

Yes, when you drive, it can be a voice, a notification sound and nothing.
From the previous question (1), with "A voice" the speaker will speak:
"The current road becomes into a new road". with "A notification" only
a short sound will be played.

Thanks for your work!

Hello Costales,
Thanks for the explanation. It was Marcin Xc who asked the questions, so
I am cc-ing him/her too. There are still a few things not clear to me. I
will write comment between the lines.

Hi

@Translators, I updated a string: https://translations.launchpad.net/unav

@Hannie,

81. "Icons for empty states" ?

This in a section title in the About page, those are special images
for special states, for example, you search something and nothing is
found, no favorites yet... etc.
Will be something like:
Icons for empty states:
   Author name1
   Author name2
   etc.
Ah, so with state you mean status (the position of affairs at a
particular time). If there is no search result, the state is empty? e.g.
I look for the name of a certain author, but this name does not exist.
And there is a special icon for this?

97. " By"?

Author of a custom voice.
For example: English. By Nathan.

101. "You can create a voice for uNav following these steps"

Create<< or add a new one? I just wanna make sure ;-)

'Add a new one' should be better I think. I updated the string. Thanks!

154. "Fast Nearest Editor"?

Users can set a custom POIs from OpenStreetMap, a "Fast POIs", then
this string will be the title in the header of that page.
I have no idea what POIs are. I will not tell you what I get as a result
when I search for POI in Google :) If it is an editor, like Gedit, then
what does fast and nearest mean?

181."Confirm new routes"?

In Settings, it's a switch. When user set a route, he will see the
complete route and wait for confirmation or don't see it and don't
wait.

Thanks for your work!

1. The current road becomes into a new road

2. A voice

It means a voice by someone, or just means a voice message?

3. A notification

Thank you.

2017-01-17 Thread Marcin Xc
1. In settings we can see "Verbose panel indications". First of all I don't see
this string to translate on Launchpad. Second of all I can't see any difference
in a program behaviour when changing this setting. What is it expected to do?
2. "Avoid tools". At first I translated it blind. Then I started the app and
deleted my translation. I can only suppose that these are some tools like for
example "avoid paid roads" or "ferries". Is it right? If yes, how do we set the
things to avoid cause I can't find anything.

Hi!

uNav is a GPS Navigator for Ubuntu Phone: http://unav.me

Please, could you complete your language for the next release (this weekend)?
https://translations.launchpad.net/unav

You can localize the voices too following these steps:
https://github.com/costales/unav/

Thanks in advance! A hug.
Costales.

Re: Localize uNav 0.65 (Full localization option) (Costales)

2017-01-17 Thread Costales
Hi

@Translators, I updated a string: https://translations.launchpad.net/unav

@Hannie,

81. "Icons for empty states" ?

This in a section title in the About page, those are special images
for special states, for example, you search something and nothing is
found, no favorites yet... etc.
Will be something like:
Icons for empty states:
  Author name1
  Author name2
  etc.

181."Confirm new routes"?

In Settings, it's a switch. When user set a route, he will see the
complete route and wait for confirmation or don't see it and don't
wait.

Thanks for your work!
Costales.
