Did you just steal it off kubuntu or is this from somewhere else? Go forth and modify. How about some obligatory flag colours? Re: [ubuntu-uk] Ubuntu UK Logo (was: urgent)
http://www.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/TrademarkPolicy/ It is important to maintain the visual integrity of the Ubuntu logo. We therefore ask that anyone considering use of the logo keep the following guidelines in mind. Following these guidelines will increase the chances that we will quickly approve your use of the logo. When appearing in multiple colours, the logo should use only the official logo colors. You may use transparency and gradient/depth tools, but should still maintain the Ubuntu colors. A monotone version may be acceptable in certain situations, if the use requires it (e.g., desktop backgrounds). Any scaling must retain the original proportions of the logo. Other than the variations listed here, the logo may not be modified in any way. Additional text may not be added in such a way that it appears to be part of the logo itself. That stops us adding extra text. In addition ideally I'd avoid flags - not just because of the northern ireland issue but because even Town Halls in South London don't fly the Union Flag (we fly the EU flag and borough flag) However I'm not sure what this leaves us with.. Personally I wouldn't want to create that confusion either :) The 'K' needs modifying further, the one in Ubuntu-Title is not quite right Did you just steal it off kubuntu or is this from somewhere else? sudo apt-get install ubuntu-title is a font (Ubuntu-Title) in the design of the original logo. Yes, the 'k' in that font likely came from the Kubuntu logo, which may explain why it doesn't quite 'fit'. How about some obligatory flag colours? I don't think we should not use it just because of political correctness nutters and their views (not including Caroline as such a nutter here :D). We are a UK team, so why not use the internationally recognised UK flag? Oh, and as for public sector impact - I have *never* seen any issues with the flag with my work in the public sector.
