[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 700270] [NEW] Black screen with only mouse cursor when resuming from suspend and using compositing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel When resuming from suspend to RAM, compositing in KWin stops working; I get a black screen with only the cursor showing. The desktop seems to work still, but I can't see anything. If I turn compositing off (Alt+Shift+F12 or running on battery) things work fine. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 700466] Re: ubuntu 10.10 chrashes when using 'FN' to change brightness level
I guess the problem is caused bei xserver-xorg-video-intel. By removing this package and only using the xserver-xorg-video-i740 the FN-Key works without chrashing. But without xserver-xorg-video-intel, the resolution of webpages is in bad quality and also I couldn`t acitvate any visuell effects. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/700466 Title: ubuntu 10.10 chrashes when using 'FN' to change brightness level ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 700515] [NEW] ubuntu-bug xorg_Strange White Lines
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha on my Acer Aspire 5516 laptop with ATI Radeon Graphics, 4GB of RAM and the AMD Athlon 64-bit processor. I submitted a bug report before and related to some issues tied in with bug# 687445, yet I was encouraged to file a new bug report using ubuntu-bug xorg. With this new bug report I am attaching an updated screenshot of my desktop which will show what my desktop looks like at present. As time allows, I will try to see what happens with the Classic Desktop and Compiz Fusion to determine whether it's a driver bug rather than unity. I am hoping that this might be a driver problem instead of a Unity problem. I like what Ubuntu is attempting to do with the new Unity interface, and it would be nice to see it working on my laptop as intended by the Developers. Thanks in advance. It would be helpful if you could try seeing if you can reproduce the behavior with the classic desktop + compiz, to make it more clear that it's a driver bug rather than unity. Here is the receiver : Bus 002 Device 004: ID 045e:071d Microsoft Corp. Microsoft 6000 Series. Fine once I've unplugged and plugged it back in. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 312756] Re: MASTER: support graphics card hot switch
@VizFdez I've experimented the same Error with i915 and radeon module loaded together, and solved it by blacklisting radeon module. add a file en /etc/modprobe.d with a .conf name (ex: custom-blacklist-radeon.conf) and write into: blacklist radeon or execute: echo blacklist radeon | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/custom-blacklist-radeon.conf One other issue i've seen with both modules is that the power consumption is higher, even when turning off the discrete Ati card by means of vgaswitcheroo, compared to having only i915 loaded and turn the card off by acpi_call module. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312756 Title: MASTER: support graphics card hot switch ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
