[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 846041] Re: [gm45] False GPU lockup EIR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00100000
No, I don't have a lockup and mouse still usable. The only thing I notice, is that some windows are not movable/minimizable until I select them again via left unity menubar. But I am not sure if that misbehaviour is a result of the error or if it is a different bug/problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/846041 Title: [gm45] False GPU lockup EIR: 0x0010 PGTBL_ER: 0x0010 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/846041/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 781353] Re: libgl1-mesa-dri: display inverted (upside-down) in startkde after natty upgrade
Thanks Chris but that piece of configuration does not exists. I tried to switch gl_conf (pointing either to mesa or nvidia-current) but it did not work either. The only thing that worked is letting /usr/lib/nvidia-current/libGL.so.1 symbolic link to point to /usr/lib/mesa/libGL.so.1 However I think that this is a job for ironhide. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 856308] [NEW] Themes are applied only to the windows borders
Public bug reported: After one reboot, themes stopped being applied to the whole screen. Only the window's top bar and bottom border are themed. Gnome bars (I'm using classic) are not. Sometimes the ubuntu icon on the left of applications is also changed to the missing icon image. Things tried from other bug reports I've found: - gnome-settings-daemon is running - added delay to gnome-settings-daemon startup (no difference) - removed .compiz settings before restarting - appmenu-gtk is reinstalled - no issues visible in /var/crash - changing theme to something else doesn't help (also only window's bar is updated) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-11.50-generic 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-11-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus.0: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 270.41.06 Mon Apr 18 14:53:56 PDT 2011 GCC version: gcc version 4.5.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-8ubuntu4) Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz Date: Thu Sep 22 12:11:58 2011 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: nvidia-current, 270.41.06, 2.6.38-11-generic, x86_64: installed nvidia-current, 270.41.06, 2.6.38-10-generic, x86_64: installed nvidia-current, 270.41.06, 2.6.38-8-generic, x86_64: installed GraphicsCard: nVidia Corporation GT200GL [NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800] [10de:05ff] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: nVidia Corporation Device [10de:0661] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Release amd64 (20110427.1) JockeyStatus: xorg:nvidia_current - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (Proprietary, Disabled, Not in use) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Z400 Workstation ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_GB:en LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-2.6.38-11-generic root=UUID=ee6d3dbf-1d70-4061-8b3a-225ea04c40c2 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 Renderer: Unknown SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 10/29/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: 786G3 v03.15 dmi.board.asset.tag: CZC1093P3M dmi.board.name: 0B4Ch dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.board.version: D dmi.chassis.asset.tag: CZC1093P3M dmi.chassis.type: 6 dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvr786G3v03.15:bd10/29/2010:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPZ400Workstation:pvr:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn0B4Ch:rvrD:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct6:cvr: dmi.product.name: HP Z400 Workstation dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110606-0ubuntu1~natty2 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs 20090808ubuntu13 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.23-1ubuntu6 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 7.10.2-0ubuntu2 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 7.10.2-0ubuntu2 version.nvidia-graphics-drivers: nvidia-graphics-drivers N/A version.xserver-xorg: xserver-xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3.1 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.0-0ubuntu4.1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7.1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20110107+b795ca6e-0ubuntu7 ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 natty ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/856308 Title: Themes are applied only to the windows borders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/856308/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 856366] [NEW] Apparent regression in current version: Synaptics trackpad on HP -- right click, click and drag not working
Public bug reported: HP DM1 3101EA Ubuntu Oneiric beta 1, all updates as of 21 Sept. By default (and with changes in the system settings/mouse and touchpad option): Trackpad multi-touch (two finger scroll, for example) works Trackpad tap to click works Right click - does not work at all Click and drag only works within the space of the 'left button' area of the trackpad - doesn't work overall. Problem is resolved by installing the deb (dpkg - i ) at http://www.mdl4.com/2011/07/fix-your-hp-mini-mouse-in-ubuntu-11-04/ and restarting the X server (ctrl-alt-backspace) Subsequent updates will install the 'broken' xserver-xorg-input- synaptics (not sure if it's that package or a config file that's broken) release unless pinned. I'm not technical enough to actually figure the difference, but it transforms the PC from virtually unusable to perfectly normal. If the regression 'fault' in the detection/config of the synaptics trackpad could be incorporated into the next update to the the package, that would be great. I'm more than happy to try any fix and / or to provide whatever additional information might assist. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/856366 Title: Apparent regression in current version: Synaptics trackpad on HP -- right click, click and drag not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/856366/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 799202] Re: wacom stylus jumps with latest xserver-xorg-core
The reason Krita fails is that it uses the high resolution location and not cursor location. High resolution location evaluation is broken whenever the X server does not send both X and Y coordinates. Thus the valuator code is still wrong somehow. I have pushed a hack fix to the PPA that just drops all incoming events that don't have both an X and a Y coordinate specified. Please test it out once it finishes building. It may cause other interesting bugs, but at least we should be able to prove conclusively where the real bug is. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/799202 Title: wacom stylus jumps with latest xserver-xorg-core To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/799202/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Version 0.3 of the psmouse-alps-dkms package is now available at: http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/alps-touchpad/psmouse-alps-0.3 /psmouse-alps-dkms_0.3_all.deb Changes since v2: * Improved cleanup after trackstick initialization errors * Driver should still load if trackstick initialization fails * Multitouch support for v3 protocol touchpads * Filter out occasional zero pressure reports from hardware. These were causing random release events to be sent to userspace, which could appear as apparent clicks when dragging on the touchpad. Hemanti: The first two changes are targeted at your issues. Even though you don't have a trackstick, it appears that occasionally on your hardware something is gong wrong with the trackstick check. As long as that's all that's going wrong the new version shouldn't cause the complete failures you were seeing before, but there could be a deeper underlying problem. Please let me know how it works, and keep an eye out for trackstick E7 report failed messages in dmesg. Note that multitouch support is for *v3 only.* v4 has some difficulties that need to be overcome, and I plan to focus on getting everything else solid before working on that. I think the driver is currently very close to finished, so everyone please give this newest version a try and let me know how it works. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Thank you so much! I just compiled 0.3 version and tried it (without reboot, unloading 0.2 works fine). Both track-stick and TouchPad are working perfectly. The 0.3 patch is working for me, multitouch enabled. But there are some problems I see: 1. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Okay, it seems I was too happy too early. :-( I'm noticing that disabling the touchpad while typing works now (though I'm not sure if that already worked before). Still, the touchpad won't work after reboot and only removing the battery works then. I'm attaching my dmesg output again. There's still that E7 error in there. I really hope yo can fix this, because otherwise I quite like your driver. Btw, multitouch still doesn't work, but I don't really care since I don't wanna use that. ** Attachment added: dmesg-v3-not-working.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/550625/+attachment/2441771/+files/dmesg-v3-not-working.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550625 Title: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/550625/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 676166] Re: Screen corruption when resuming from suspend/hibernate
Turned out it was in fact a bug in Unity. This is what was discovered: An FBO texture is being corrupted: this texture belongs to the drag-and-drop full-screen input window [1], a fullscreen window which is supposed to be transparent, but whose texture is never redrawn after it's created, including after mode switches, suspend/resume cycles, etc. Since FBO textures, including the alpha data that normally makes the DND window transparent, are not preserved after suspend, the garbage texture data for this window produces the observed corruption upon resume. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
César, Hemanti: I've uploaded a 0.4 package for both of you to test. In only adds two things -- some debug output and a reset prior to initialization. http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/alps-touchpad/psmouse-alps-0.4 /psmouse-alps-dkms_0.4_all.deb César, what I need from you is for you to open a terminal, make it full screen, and ensure it has focus. Generate the stray middle click problem and stop touching the touchpad as soon as it happens. Then, without touching the touchpad, run the command dmesg dmesg-stray-click.txt. Then attach the dmesg-stray-click.txt file here. Hemanti, I added a reset before initializing the touchpad to see if it gets your hardware out of whatever goofy state it's in following a reboot. I really don't know why this happens (I don't see it on any of the machines I'm testing with), but the reset might help. Please test and let me know. Everyone else: unless you are experiencing one of the problems César or Hemanti are seeing and want to help debug, just stick with the 0.3 version. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550625 Title: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/550625/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
