[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 886229] Re: Segmentation fault causes random log off
This affects me too, same segmentation fault. If it helps, I've noticed it happens much more often when running on battery power, and it seems to happen more often when actively doing things, like loading several webpages or advancing songs in banshee. I've still had it happen to me when on AC power and when not doing those things, it's just much more common. Also there are some threads floating around online with others with this issue, and it seems to only affect 64 bit users. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886229 Title: Segmentation fault causes random log off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/886229/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 416073] Re: [i965] low intel graphics performance - again
To be honest I feel there is a moderate but well-measurable increase of the graphical performance in the new Ubuntu Oneiric. Now I have Extreme Tux Racer performance in the range 20-25 FPS (~25% comparing to the previous 15-20 FPS that I mentioned above), all on the same laptop with the same intel video card. Similar increase can be noted in the most other 3d applications that I have. In particular, KWin performance is better than it was even in Karmic. This I can note clearly, because in the previous Ubuntu KWin was so slow that I turned it off permanently. Now I do not turn it off even for fullscreen graphical apps, and the performance is good (notice I do not set the option of auto-suspending KWin for fullscreen apps, i.e. KWin continues to work as usually in such a case). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416073 Title: [i965] low intel graphics performance - again To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/416073/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 891107] [NEW] fglrx driver does not install correctly/work with 6470M HD Radeon
Public bug reported: I tried to enable the propriety driver for my 6470 HD Radeon card. I used the Additional Drivers in the system settings page, running ubuntu 11.10. Two options come up: ATI/AMD proprietry FGLRX graphics driver and ATI/AMD proprietry FGLRX graphics driver (post release updates). I install the first one, reboot, and check the Additional Drivers again. The first driver is indicated that it is active, however when I run fglrxinfo at the command line I get: X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation) Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString) Serial number of failed request: 12 Current serial number in output stream: 12 So I don't think it is installed. I then try to install the second driver with the post release update. This one never seems to install. And it never comes up as being activated, despite numerous attempts. So trying I try to do the install from the command line. Running an apt-get reinstall fglrx fglrx-amdcccle fglrx-dev. This appears to install but I get the same result when I run fglrxinfo. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 838577] Re: GNOME Shell display problems with FGLRX
The (this morning) update of fglrx-updates co (Now at version 2:8.881-0ubuntu6.1) seems to have fixed the worst of it. Nevertheless, there is still some (minor, but not nice) problem. See the attached shot --- easier than explain. (5 minutes...) well, I stand back, it seems that it's impossible to get a shot of the screen. More of that. The problem I was noticing above is that for example, in a gnome terminal, if you go the terminal-profile menu, and select the profiles... submenu, when you hover on the submenu it get mangled. The same happens to the new scrollbar sometime. For the other thing: it seems that it's impossible to get a screenshot. When I try it, I get only an old wallpaper (I am rotating them) and no windows. Should be fglrx- related, because on my laptop, intel graphic card, same O.S., it works ok. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838577 Title: GNOME Shell display problems with FGLRX To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fglrx/+bug/838577/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I can't promise we'll get to it (we get way more bugs filed than we can usually get to), but your testing and feedback can help out if and when we do. ** Changed in: xcompmgr (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/735162 Title: menu application appears behind window application Status in Compiz: New Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “xcompmgr” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: compiz Hello, after a certain time of using my computer, compiz becomes mad and make my menu appear in the background, behind the application, so I can't see it... Yes, the problem persists and we don't have anyone assigned to this bug. Why won't Canonical address this problem? FGLRX is not that uncommon. I do not have the blank screen after booting any more. So there is a progress. Still gnome shell is unusable because of poor performance and flickering. Rest is ok. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 844193] Re: Screen won't turn back on after being turned off due to inactivity (System Settings - Screen)
I still notice the issue here, on a fully-updated HP Mini 110. Letting the screen turn off by itself seems to be what triggers it; it will turn back on from standby just fine. It also seems to go out if you plug in an external display and try to switch screens. Additionally, I think that it may just be the backlight: if you hold a light up to the screen, you can see a faint image of your desktop. My current solution is to put the netbook in standby and bring it back again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844193 Title: Screen won't turn back on after being turned off due to inactivity (System Settings - Screen) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/844193/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 838577] Re: GNOME Shell display problems with FGLRX
Another data point: the lock-screen simply makes the screen a mess (complete lack of sync, it seems, like the not-so-good-old-times when you got ModeLine frequency wrong in x11.conf files). Uf. Need to go back to Unity to be able to work, I hope it will be fixed soon.
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 365300] Re: Randomly I get double clicks when I do a single click.
Mouse: a4tech X-710F, double clicks started few days after fresh install of kubuntu 11.10 I couldn't find the solution, so I checked the mouse on 2 previous kubuntu releases where it used to work just fine - the bug was there too. Finally I assumed this can be a hardware problem so I've desoldered my LMB and triple click button, switched them and soldered back. This solved problem for me - triple click seems to be working fine, I don't get hexa clicks since (I guess) it takes mouse to send the signal a little longer than this (evil) double click used button generates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-evdev in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/365300 Title: Randomly I get double clicks when I do a single click.
