[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 782855] Re: missing pixels (horizontal lines) in font rendering
Somewhere - and I can't find the reference now - I read that an effective workaround is to create /etc/X11/xorg.conf with the following content. Section Device Identifier Intel Driver intel Option DebugWait True EndSection I've found that this works on my EeePC 900. I had to reboot, not just log out, before it took effect. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 933956] Re: (precise) Keyboard stops working sometimes when shift is pressed
Hello, Fabio. I found the cause of the problem. It's Compiz's Wobbly Windows plugin. It sets a shortcut as Shift and that was causing the problem. Disabling the plugin or just the shortcut solves the problem. However, I believe something is wrong with it, since this is the first time this happens (I use this plugin for as long as I can remember) and the update that caused this included and update to ccsm. 2012/2/17 Fabio Marconi fabiomarc...@ubuntu.com Thanks in advance. -- Pablo Almeida http://www.google.com/profiles/pabloalmeidaff9 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/933956 Title: (precise) Keyboard stops working sometimes when shift is pressed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/933956/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 934770] Re: Inadvertant mouse movement click is causing cursor to stick on left click

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 934770] Re: Inadvertant mouse movement click is causing cursor to stick on left click
Sorry to spam this - starting to think a mouse click has nothing to do with this By default TapAndDragGesture is set to 1 which here allows 2 3 taps to register (2 tap to open, 3 tap to highlight So what's happening is a quick 2 tap cursor move is 'grabbing' , this lasts till I stop activity wait 5 sec's. If I set TapAndDragGesture to 0 then I'm only getting a single tap registered I believe this issue can't occur So if TapAndDragGesture=1 is intended to allow 2/3 tap then possibly this can be considered user error not a bug? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934770 Title: Inadvertant mouse movement click is causing cursor to stick on left click To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/934770/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Well this problem is quite old : it became obvious with Ubuntu 10.10 (I couldn't even start a live-CD or USB) until now. But I also had an issue with Ubuntu 10.04 : the use of compiz (by enabling the 3D effects) used to create random freezes. The workaround to these freezes was to install compiz fusion icon, to check indirect rendering in its options, and to add it to startup applications. I can't say if it was related to our current problem. Most probably ? I can't say if it was related to our current problem. Most probably ? Nope, I can safely say that is a different issue. The current issue prevents X from starting up an accelerated driver at all, and so compiz would simply not work (or perhaps only through incredibly slow swrast). So I believe you would have noticed the issue even then. I would be glad to try any new kernel (or other changes) when I have time, but I'm not an advanced user so please explain the method(s) step by step... [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 805700]
I have had a problem with video for the last few versions of Ubuntu, and for the last couple of versions (at least) have been running in a failsafe mode. A good test for me has been Google Earth. I have not been able to run Google Earth properly for some time now. With pci=noacpi in Oneiric, I actually have the best set up I have had so far - I can now run Google Earth with proper performace AND Gnome 3. I submitted this report, because I wanted to get the problem addressed properly, though, rather than just hoping that it will work in the next Ubuntu version. I also thought that it would be good to get it fixed for the long term release of Ubuntu - Precise. I will install Ubuntu 10.04.3 on a spare partition to confirm (or otherwise) that there is a problem with that version also. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/805700 Title: NattyOneiric - intel 82945G/GZ graphics card - Intel driver fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/805700/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 556782] Re: [rs690m] Graphics corruption with ati x1200
The bug is not a driver issue but a hardware issue. The OEMs of x1200 series locked down the bios to the integrated graphic card. To fix this issue you need to flash a custom bios to your netbook/laptop and and change the bios settings. I did this two weeks ago. my lt3103u with the x1270 chip is running great. No need to turn off KMS and it works with the gallium driver with are the standard on the newer releases of ubuntu. I posted instructions to ubuntu forum. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 927441] Re: Far left character in panel (and launcher popups) distorted
I had a chat with Jay yesterday and he is able to reproduce the issue as well. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 934707] Re: emachine e725 boots to black screen
Canonical Kernel Team Archive for June, 2011 Brad Figg Kernel Team Meeting Minutes Status: General Oneiric We’ve almost resolved all the issues from the v3.0 fallout. We’re just wrestling with module-init-tools to get depmod sorted out. We’ve rebased to v3.0-rc2 and pushed to master-next. With v3.0-rc2, there’s an issue on boot (black screen of death) when the i915 driver is loaded. This can be worked around using i915.modeset=0 at the moment. There’s also reported boot issues on some system’s with atom processors on at least v3.0-rc1. So, I’m a bit hesitant to upload at the moment knowing we’ll break some common hardware use cases. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934707 Title: emachine e725 boots to black screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/934707/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
