The system has an old i865 graphics card, which is older than what we support in Ubuntu. Thus this issue is not appropriate for a precise SRU fix. However, upstream (Intel) does provide limited support in the trunk code for these old cards. For these 8xx cards we just ship what they provide without distro modifications. Thus I would recommend that you raise the issue with upstream directly, by reporting it at bugs.freedesktop.org, and work on getting a fix into trunk. Fwiw, often with these type of bugs the problem has to do with the dimensions of the photo exceeding some GPU hardware limit. You could diagnose this further yourself by experimenting with different sized images and see if there is an X or Y dimension at which the system fails. Knowing that number can help developers narrow in on what buffer limit is being hit. ** Summary changed: - EYE for Gnome 3.4.1 installed with Ubuntu 12.04 freeze the computer when displaying jpeg pictures from my nikon camera this is not the case with my 10.04 install having EYE 2.30 'tested with same pics' + [i865] EYE for Gnome 3.4.1 installed with Ubuntu 12.04 freeze the computer when displaying jpeg pictures from my nikon camera this is not the case with my 10.04 install having EYE 2.30 'tested with same pics' ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Assignee: Bryce Harrington (bryce) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001249 Title: [i865] EYE for Gnome 3.4.1 installed with Ubuntu 12.04 freeze the computer when displaying jpeg pictures from my nikon camera this is not the case with my 10.04 install having EYE 2.30 'tested with same pics' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1001249/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 990575] Re: Entire desktop becomes unresponsive after suspend/resume
Hi, your description of the suspend/resume bug fits my experience exactly. This wasn't an issue until the last week, and I don't really know what has broken suspend/resume. As described here the bug is only encountered after some of the suspend/resumes, I'd say that it happens on less than 20% of resumes. During testing to find the cause of the bug I've also seen it straight after booting i.e. if I suspend the system before doing any other work. I have an asus ul30vt running ubuntu 12.04 lts (32-bit) and I use bumblebee to disable the nvidia card (G210m) on my system. The only ways to 'recover' after this happens is either to shutdown the system, or go to console (ctrl+alt+f1) and 'sudo killall Xorg' - but then of course my X session is lost. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990575 Title: Entire desktop becomes unresponsive after suspend/resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/990575/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1003924] [NEW] HD Streaming Does Not Work in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Public bug reported: Streaming of high definition audio/video does not work in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. It worked fine in Ubuntu 11.10 and 11.04. I am using the HDHomeRun Prime HDTV tuner, (with application HDHomeRun Config GUI), which was able to stream HDTV to my computer perfectly in Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10. A computer I have that still has 11.10 installed still works perfectly. After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, the HDTV streaming no longer functions. Audio breaks up and is unintelligible, and video stutters. This problem exists on three different computers running 12.04 LTS, so it is not isolated to a particular computer hardware issue. Switching to a standard definition (SD) stream, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS works fine. It appears that for some reason 12.04 LTS is not able to handle the higher bitrate of HD streaming. I have seen similar error reports using other applications and hardware. It would be helpful to track down and fix the bug because it is likely to affect more users as 12.04 LTS gains wider use. Thanks. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003924 Title: HD Streaming Does Not Work in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1003924/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
