[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1096308] Re: Soundcloud listening in Midori results in desktop crash
Ok, I can't reproduce it anymore. I had it happen twice in a row within 20 minutes of each other, then once the next day. I haven't run into the problem since, having run soundcloud on midori 7 times. I did update twice between 2013-01-06 and 2013-01-21, but cannot say if any particular update was influential. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1102654] Re: [raring] full screen video crashes after Intel SNA enabled by default
Any video does this. Also, full-screen skype calls freeze the computer as well. The same for youtube videos played in HTML5. I don't know how to get the i915_error_stat if the system is frozen... As for the mplayer configuration, now I'm using only defaults in Smplayer or GNOME Mplayer and it still freezes ("xv" video output"). So to replicate it, all I have to do is start playing a video with a mplayer-based video player in full-screen, that's all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102654 Title: [raring] full screen video crashes after Intel SNA enabled by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1102654/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Please attach your mplayer config and/or command line arguments you're using for running it. Also, can you tell us or share the video? It can help developers to reproduce the problem. The i915_error_state file must be collected *while* the system is frozen, so I'm not sure the i915_error_state you provided is going to match up to the actual error state.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103171] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: Since I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10. I experience problem with booting. Usually I have to restart couple of times (1-5 times) to see the login screen and hear the drums sound. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103058] Re: fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build
Yeah, it seems i got my hopes up too soon when i read the phoronix article: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTI4MDE After nearly half a year, the new driver for 'legacy' users i.e. my gpu was made 3 years ago (ancient i know!), has been released and it seems to be purely for fixes related to playing games on steam. Not unwanted in itself, but that it's still capped on the X version it's compatible with (and the kernel? will it work on 3.5-3.8?) is really disappointing - and seriously hampers upgrading the OS to the next version. Tomasz, we are indebted to you for making such a useful PPA, but i wish it wasn't necessary and that we wouldn't be waiting another 6 months or more for the next version, so i can finally use fglrx with a more uptodate kernel. The opensource radeon driver is great visually, but significantly worse at power management :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103058 Title: fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1103058/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103058] Re: fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build
As far as I checked 13.1 legacy do not provide script for Quantal, so you will need to do "--buildpkg Ubuntu/precise" instead of "--buildpkg Ubuntu/quantal". Also X-Server 1.13 is still not supported. You will need to downgrade to 1.12.4. I am not sure how it support kernel 3.5 - will need to check it. When I will be sure, that everything is working fine on my testing machines I will update this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~makson96/+archive/fglrx So don't wory about manual install :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1103058 Title: fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1103058/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1103162] [NEW] after successful login got black screen, tty works
Public bug reported: package designation may be wrong, i only know the symptoms, and now luckily the workaround, this is my best guess I have a dual monitor setup, with 2 crt monitors, an ATI X1950AGP video card, Xubuntu 12.04 the problem was that after after a successful login instead of getting the desktop screen i got black screen, no video signal on any of the video monitors i could press CTRL-ALT-F1 log in to tty, and look for logs, -> [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id this was in the syslog, so i was looking for video card and drm errors, meanwhile installed fglrx, then uninstalled it, play with package downgrades etc rarely from the planty of tries and restarts the machine gave me the desktop, i didn't understood why, but saved the logs from this, so i could compare with the logs that don't work here is the good one, from Xorg.0.log [ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Modeline "720x400"x70.1 28.32 720 738 846 900 400 412 414 449 -hsync +vsync (31.5 kHz) [ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Modeline "640x350"x70.1 25.18 640 656 752 800 350 357 359 449 +hsync -vsync (31.5 kHz) [ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Output DVI-0 connected [ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Output S-video disconnected [ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Output DVI-1 connected ->[ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Using exact sizes for initial modes ->[ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Output DVI-0 using initial mode 1280x1024 ->[ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Output DVI-1 using initial mode 1280x1024 [ 12.700] (II) RADEON(0): Using default gamma of (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) unless otherwise stated. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
Forever it's worth, this problem affects me as well in the "nothing moves" version, i.e. no mouse,. no keyboard, nothing. I experienced this in Classic Gnome (gnome-session-fallback) as well as in kfce. I am running an hp with intel i7 cpu, Intel ivy bridge graphic (It has a hybrid graphics board, have not had the crash when using the nvidia during game playing using bumblebee). My kernel is 3.2.0-31-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Fri Sep 7 16:16:45 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux I considered Ubuntu/Linux to be a rock solid OS, far superior to anything else out there. Now I must say, my Windows box runs more reliable than 12.04, a very sad development. I think it's an outrage that this bug is marked as "Won't fix" in an LTS release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1080233] Re: Apport thinks 12.04.01 isnt LTS
** Description changed: Apport thinks 12.04.01 isnt LTS + Then why is needed such info that it isnt in development? I didnt asked if its under development it told me that by itself. Support means it still will be developed better with bug fixes and that called support. Why then is needed to say it isnt in development? No one cares about that. Small percentage only trys it while before release so its irrelevant for users such information.
