aleko74's work around is fine if we are OK with not using the buttons on the headset. Ideally I would love to use the buttons on the USB headset for mute/unmute, talk/end, vol up/down buttons. Also, I have three different USB headsets two Logitect and one plantronics and the behavior is the same. The headsets work great till I press any button on the headset. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1181902] Re: Nouveau driver glitch on Ubuntu 13.04 will cause system to freeze under certain conditions
This happens on both Ubuntu 13.10 Unity, and Ubuntu GNOME. It use to happen on Kubuntu, but the ".config" settings have solved it. No more gliches on Kubuntu 13.10 at all. With Ubuntu 13.10 Unity, the Launcher and Panel are "rainbow" colored and completely cover up Launcher & Panels. The background is normal. The Launcher flashes for a breif second so I see the icons, but then the "rainbow" color covers it up. With Ubuntu 13.10 GNOME, it is random when it freezes. I can ALWAYS cause it to freeze if I start Empathy. Various programs can cause it to freeze but not always. Empathy will always freeze the computer, and cause the screen to have unrecognizable virtical lines. A power off is the only option, That "elephant" nonsense doesn't work here. I know its the "GeForce 6150SE nForce 430" graphics that's causing this, because if I use "nomodeset" nothing freezes. With Kubuntu, when it first started freezing, I could use "modeset=0" and it would work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181902 Title: Nouveau driver glitch on Ubuntu 13.04 will cause system to freeze under certain conditions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1181902/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Public bug reported: Similar to bug 11588934, I get acpi_video0 & intel_backlight, or (ideapad & intel_backlight) depending on the osi_* kernel cmd line settings. The one that is preferred / used (acpi_video0 / ideapad) do not work. Whereas intel_backlight is the one that does work. I have Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1212736] Re: Touch screen: Right click should be emulated by long press, like under Windows 8 and Android
The right click on the touch-operated Ubuntu Desktop is not completely unimplemented. Besides the possibility of using the right-click emulation of Onboard one can right-click by holding one finger on the place where one wants to right click, and while holding the finger down tapping with another finger on an arbitrary place of the touch screen and after that sliding the held down first finger through the context menu to the desired item and releasing there, which leads to the item being selected. It works on the standard (in my case Unity) desktop and even in XBMC. This gesture is rather awkward and far from intuitive to find without any instructions (see the time between this comment and my creation of the touch screen/convertible Blueprint to which this bug is linked), especially also where Android and Windows 8 use a long press as right click, and the Ubuntu Desktop is usually installed as an alternative operating system on machines which are originally supplied with Windows or Android and so conserving operation schemes from these systems makes switching over to Ubuntu much easier. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212736 Title: Touch screen: Right click should be emulated by long press, like under Windows 8 and Android To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mousetweaks/+bug/1212736/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
