[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1242304] Re: Nouveau driver on MBPret 15
Wolf Rogner, this report will focus only on wakeup from suspend. You are welcome to file any further bugs in a seperate report, one per report. Despite this, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily kernel folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12-rc6 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Description changed: - Using the nouveau drivers - - - Menu items restart and shutdown don't work - - No wakeup from suspend to RAM (nothing new) - - slugish performance + Using the nouveau drivers no wakeup from suspend to RAM. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243261] [NEW] apparent GPU hang on haswell laptop when playing movie on libreoffice
Public bug reported: How to reproduce: 1. open libreoffice - file - new - presentation 2. paste any movie; insert - movie this bug is quite reproducible and this movie file can be anything that libreoffice/gstreamer can play. 3. verify you correctly pasted the movie by selecting the movie in the slide and clicking the play botton bottom left. check if the movie *plays* ok. 4. then start slideshow from the slideshow menu or F5. Symptom: * a screen hang. this continues at least ten seconds or more. after that you can somehow quit the slideshow mode. * ESC and other keys do not stop the slideshow, except ctrl+alt+F1 * switching to VT and getting back to X helps sometimes. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243311] [NEW] GPU lockup when using 2 video cards
Public bug reported: My system has a Radeon HD 7750 and Radeon HD 6450, together driving 4 displays: Left: VGA on 7750 via DisplayPort adaptor, 1280x1024 Middle: DVI on 7750, 1920x1080 Right: HDMI on 7750, 1680x1050 Top (above Middle): VGA on 6450, 1280x1024 With only Left, Middle and Right enabled, everything works fine. When I try to enable the top display by running: $ xrandr --output VGA-1-0 --above DVI-0 --mode 1280x1024 then the top screen only displays noise, and the entire system will lock up for about 10 seconds at a time, then run again for 10 seconds (and the top screen goes blank), then lock up again, repeating until the top screen is disabled again. syslog and kern.log report one of the GPUs is locking up. With the proprietary driver fglrx, I can run all 4 displays, but it requires the use of Xinerama, so I have no RandR or compositing, which stinks. With the open source driver RandR and compositing work fine. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243415] [NEW] Narrow blurred horizontal stripe is flickering in the middle of a video with quick moving objects
Public bug reported: A narrow blurred horizontal stripe is flickering about the mean height of a video in scenes with quick moving objects. The stripe is from the left to the right edge of the video. The stripe is sometimes located a little above or below the mean height of a video. My graphic card is the Sapphire ATI HD 7750. I tried xvid or x264 encoded videos with kaffeine/vlc/mplayer/smplayer and in all cases the stripes occure. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243500] [NEW] Poor LibreOffice performance if open upon resuming from suspend (with nvidia graphics driver)
Public bug reported: Same as bug #185600 or duplicates Bug #397880 Bug #438080 or Bug #606558, except this bug report was produced using terminal. System: Ubuntu 13.10 LibreOffice 4.1.2.3 Nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 (nvidia-current as per 2013-10-23) How to reproduce: Open a document in LibreOffice (ideally several pages). Suspend, then resume. Scroll mouse down in LibreOffice (or try page up/down). Bug: sluggish behavior, high CPU usage, takes half a second to a second on a good machine to execute command (vs. almost immediately normally). The problem is resolved if libreoffice is completely closed and re- opened after the resume. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1186786] Re: nvidia-173 kernel module fails to build on kernels = 3.10.x [error: implicit declaration of function ‘create_proc_entry’]
@Dan Muresan: this bug pertains to kernels = 3.10 and linux-generic- lts-raring is a 3.8 kernel, so I have a feeling you're not talking about this bug when you say all these wonderful changes. Anyway, this wonderful change is already available for precise (currently in proposed repo): nvidia-graphics-drivers-173-updates (173.14.37-0ubuntu0.0.1) precise-proposed; urgency=low * New upstream release: - Added support for xserver ABI 14 (xorg-server 1.14). * debian/control.in: - Remove the dependency on the linux headers as with other drivers. - Recommend nvidia-settings-304-updates. - Add ${misc:Depends}. * debian/substvars: - Add an alternative dependency on xserver-xorg-core-lts-raring. (LP: #1198942). * Add support for Linux 3.10. -- Alberto Milone alberto.mil...@canonical.com Fri, 12 Jul 2013 11:12:01 +0200 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186786 Title: nvidia-173 kernel module fails to build on kernels = 3.10.x [error: implicit declaration of function ‘create_proc_entry’] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-173/+bug/1186786/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
