[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246203] Re: Mouse point does not appear

2013-10-31 Thread Gorgonilla
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected ubuntu

** Description changed:

It's a weird thing: I have an Apple magic mouse connected via bluetooth to my
Dell XPS 13 laptop. When gnome shell starts, the mouse pointer is is not shown
on the screen... however if a move the mouse, the pointer it is still not shown
but it actually moves... if fact if I keep moving the mouse towards NW (that is
where the top left corner of the screen is) the gnome shell overview mode is
activated.
In order to make my mouse pointer visible, I have to touch the touchpad.
From that moment on, the mouse pointer will be visible.
It's a minor thing but it can be annoying especially if you disable the
touchpad.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246659] [NEW] Problem with brightness control on multi-monitor system

2013-10-31 Thread Carlos Pena
Public bug reported:

This problem only happens when I'm working with two monitors.
If I press the keyboard button Brightness down, the screen resolution of one
of my monitors changes. If I press it again, the laptop's screen turns off.
I can restore my original configuration by going to 'System settings' -
'Displays'
This problem doesn't happen when pressing Brightness up button.

If I change the resolution by going to 'System setting' - 'Brightness
lock', I don't get any problems.

It seems to happen only when:
* Pressing the keyboard button
* Decreasing brightness
* Having multiple monitors

I have attached a video showing the problem.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1244324] Re: glamor-egl crashes when running autopilot tests

2013-10-31 Thread Oibaf
There are already some patches on glamor git after 0.5.1 that may fix this,
e.g.:

In my PPA I have glamor-egl updated to current git:

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1007765] Re: brightness adjusting crashes system

2013-10-31 Thread Qaiser Ijaz
Adding acpi_backlight=legacy fixed it for me under Ubuntu 13.10. (Dell
N5010, IntelHD)

 'gksu gedit /etc/default/grub'

 add acpi_backlight=legacy to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet
splash line so it'll look like this:

   GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash acpi_backlight=legacy

save and run sudo update-grub

Restart.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246736] [NEW] touchpad won't move mouse after waking from sleep (still scrolls and clicks)

2013-10-31 Thread Ana Nelson
Public bug reported:

After waking the computer from sleep (initiated by closing the lid), I
can't move the mouse using the touchpad. The touchpad will still click
and scroll, the mouse cursor is visible but it doesn't move. The
TrackPoint mouse still works, and plugging in an external mouse works.

If I turn the Touchpad off and on in the Mouse Touchpad settings, then
it resumes working.

Stack trace in /var/log/Xorg.0.log (presumably attached) looks relevant:

start window-mocker:

Kill window mocker, the xserver will crash.

2013-10-31 Thread Ashish
Sorry actually I reported earlier in that linked but. But that remain
inactive for so long. So thought of creating this in the more relevant
place.

As for your PPA yes it worked. Thanks a lot for solving the issue.
However some glitches in tag icon rendering remains. If it's useful to
you I am including these screen shot here.

See the tray icon in picture. Icons besides network icon are bluetooth
and battery, but they are not visible here. Earlier when I was using
VESA drivers they are visible very fine.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1007765] Re: brightness adjusting crashes system

2013-10-31 Thread Deepak
I fresh installed Ubuntu 13.10, so it was using free drivers by default. And it
crashed when I tried to change brightness rapidly. So I think the bug is not
present in fglrx-installer. Now I am using AMD drivers, but my brightness
control doesn't work properly, it either increases or decreases after pressing
the key many times, the progress bar in indicator is displayed correctly but
brightness changes randomly.
After echo 0 /proc/sys/kernel/nmi_watchdog, crash doesn't occur.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246821] [NEW] fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build

2013-10-31 Thread raviks
Public bug reported:

I installed ATI fglrx proprietary drivers with Ubuntu 13.10. I was not
able to login through X. I read from some sources that it does not work
with the latest X11. I purged the drivers using sudo apt-get purge
fglrx* but after that whenever I reboot and login I see a set of error
messages showing up. When I checked /var/log/Xorg.0.log, saw a line
(EE) Failed to load module fglrx (module does not exist, 0), so it
looks like there is still some reference to this driver somewhere. I
don't know if this automatic error was generated due to this.

Subject: [Bug 1245702] Re: Video Overflow Error and other errors finite only
(for example no +1 and absolute phi_sigma repository

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug.  I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 946311]

2013-10-31 Thread Bug-track-c
Hi, tested yesterdays drm-intel-nightly with hope this patch will fix
it:

commit 52e1e223456e3aa747e9932f95948381f04b3b26
Author: Jani Nikula jani.nik...@intel.com
Date: Mon Oct 21 10:52:07 2013 +0300

drm/i915/dp: workaround BIOS eDP bpp clamping issue

suddenly it is not.
Right now i found one more way to bring eDP up. After start i can open
gnome-control-center, display setting and press save. No changes needed. It
will reenable eDP. Output of xrnadr --verbose, before and after this action,
differs only here:
   CRTCs: 1 0 2
---
   CRTCs: 0 1 2

will it help?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade

That bug is the right one. There is no workaround. The developer at
AMD I spoke to several months back also expressed skepticism in having a
fix for that. The only way I could get the second monitor to work is by
using mirror mode which is absolutely useless. I'm now on open source
radeon drivers which work but the power management stinks, but what can
I do? I have not experienced the waking up issue with the second
screen, but for what its worth, I don't think it has anything to do with
the cable.
