[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246203] Re: Mouse point does not appear
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ubuntu ** Description changed: It's a weird thing: I have an Apple magic mouse connected via bluetooth to my Dell XPS 13 laptop. When gnome shell starts, the mouse pointer is is not shown on the screen... however if a move the mouse, the pointer it is still not shown but it actually moves... if fact if I keep moving the mouse towards NW (that is where the top left corner of the screen is) the gnome shell overview mode is activated. In order to make my mouse pointer visible, I have to touch the touchpad. From that moment on, the mouse pointer will be visible. It's a minor thing but it can be annoying especially if you disable the touchpad. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246659] [NEW] Problem with brightness control on multi-monitor system
Public bug reported: This problem only happens when I'm working with two monitors. If I press the keyboard button Brightness down, the screen resolution of one of my monitors changes. If I press it again, the laptop's screen turns off. I can restore my original configuration by going to 'System settings' - 'Displays' This problem doesn't happen when pressing Brightness up button. If I change the resolution by going to 'System setting' - 'Brightness lock', I don't get any problems. It seems to happen only when: * Pressing the keyboard button * Decreasing brightness * Having multiple monitors I have attached a video showing the problem. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1246821] [NEW] fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build
Public bug reported: I installed ATI fglrx proprietary drivers with Ubuntu 13.10. I was not able to login through X. I read from some sources that it does not work with the latest X11. I purged the drivers using sudo apt-get purge fglrx* but after that whenever I reboot and login I see a set of error messages showing up. When I checked /var/log/Xorg.0.log, saw a line (EE) Failed to load module fglrx (module does not exist, 0), so it looks like there is still some reference to this driver somewhere. I don't know if this automatic error was generated due to this. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade
@kpijarski and @vuanomarco That bug is the right one. There is no workaround. The developer at AMD I spoke to several months back also expressed skepticism in having a fix for that. The only way I could get the second monitor to work is by using mirror mode which is absolutely useless. I'm now on open source radeon drivers which work but the power management stinks, but what can I do? I have not experienced the waking up issue with the second screen, but for what its worth, I don't think it has anything to do with the cable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068404 Title: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1068404/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
