[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1416601] Re: touchpad does not respond to tap-to-clicks in I2C mode in Ubuntu 15.04 on 2015 XPS 13 (9343)
Going back to kernel 3.16.0-30-generic fixes the problems for now. Given from the RedHat bug report the problem seems to be present in 3.17 kernel as well. It seems some change between 3.16 and 3.17 caused this as a regression. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1416601 Title: touchpad does not respond to tap-to-clicks in I2C mode in Ubuntu 15.04 on 2015 XPS 13 (9343) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bug/1416601/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1400626] Re: Please backport xtrans, libdrm, x11proto-{fonts, core} packages for 14.04.2
@17: I think that's understandable that not giving enough necessary packages may make apt do wrong decisions. The upgrade is very complex package dependency wise so apt needs to be given as much information as possible so that it's able to do the correct upgrade. I experienced the same with 12.04 LTS point releases, for example I needed to add that "libglapi-mesa-lts-xxx" at some point or otherwise I also experienced apt doing misupgrades I think during 12.04.2 -> 12.04.3 HWE stack or so. As upgrading HWE stack from command line is an advanced operation, I think the current situation seems good (and documentable, ie just use the command I gave for example) aside from the "Provides:" problem making some packages uninstallable after the upgrade. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libdrm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400626 Title: Please backport xtrans, libdrm, x11proto-{fonts,core} packages for 14.04.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdrm/+bug/1400626/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1418262] [NEW] apport hook to detect wayland sessions
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Now that we have an experimental GNOME wayland session in vivid, it would be somewhat useful for apport to detect if a bug report is from a wayland session. It probably makes sense for this to be global since other projects will eventually offer wayland sessions as well. Not sure on the best place for this to live though in apport or in wayland packaging or elsewhere? detecting WAYLAND_DISPLAY env is probably enough to detect a running session, and there may be a few other useful env variables such as (GDK/CLUTTER)_BACKEND etc ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: apport 2.15.1-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.18.0-12.13-generic 3.18.4 Uname: Linux 3.18.0-12-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportLog: ApportVersion: 2.15.1-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Thu Feb 5 10:51:38 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-09-23 (864 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu GNOME Remix 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Alpha amd64(20120922) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: apport UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntu-gnome Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: weston (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Triaged ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug vivid -- apport hook to detect wayland sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1418262 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to weston in Ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1418262] Re: apport hook to detect wayland sessions
Of course the hook needs to do some runtime detection (like checking the equivalent of $DISPLAY) before it sets the tag. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to weston in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1418262 Title: apport hook to detect wayland sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1418262/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1418262] Re: apport hook to detect wayland sessions
I propose that weston (or another typical wayland package) ships something like /usr/share/apport/general-hooks/weston.py (or wayland- session.py perhaps) which does the appropriate detection, and does report.setdefault('Tags', '') report['Tags'] += ' wayland-session' Does that work for you? ** Package changed: apport (Ubuntu) => weston (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: weston (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to weston in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1418262 Title: apport hook to detect wayland sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1418262/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1418262] Re: apport hook to detect wayland sessions
So I was told that weston isn't actually installed; the wayland libs are in sync with Debian, so we can also put it into apport. But I want to point out that I cannot maintain that hook -- if the logic changes, I depend on external contributors to update it for me. ** Package changed: weston (Ubuntu) => apport (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to weston in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1418262 Title: apport hook to detect wayland sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1418262/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
