[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1078068] Re: Video blinking blue during incoming call
Ok, so I figured it was best to test the version in Yakkety. I rebuilt in Xenial locally and tested it, it fixed the problem for me! So that's exciting. I've put this in the same PPA as 2:2.99.917+git20160522-1ubuntu1~16.04ppa1. I'm not sure it's appropriate to SRU the whole version, but given we're running a git snapshot (it seems) in 16.04 too, maybe it'd be fine. I'm going to update some of the bug metadata to make it clear where the bug is. ** Also affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: skype (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1078068 Title: Video blinking blue during incoming call To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/skype/+bug/1078068/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1597079] Re: AMDGPU Black Screen when Booting
Just to update I have tried the nomodeset parameter previously (sorry hadn't put that in the description) The OS does load and you get visuals but its using the software rendering and will only allow 800x600 resolution and refuses to change to anything other than that. Just to note I have tried the AMDGPU-PRO beta driver v16.30 (just on the off-chance) since posting, and it does allow you to boot with full 1920x1080 resolution to the logon screen. Attempting to log on either causes a complete crash or display corruption though. I will look at the BIOS update in the meantime :) Any thing else I can do please let me know as this Ubuntu install isn't doing anything else at the moment so I can play ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1597079 Title: AMDGPU Black Screen when Booting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu/+bug/1597079/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1598993] Re: xrandr scaling corrupts external monitor output
For any who are affected by this, here is a work-around. I was able to add a screen resolution that was detected for my internal monitor, but not for the external one, using xrandr --addmode. It gets the width of the screen right, but truncates the bottom. However panning makes the bottom accessible, so this is not a serious limitation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598993 Title: xrandr scaling corrupts external monitor output To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1598993/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1577170] Re: screen cannot be turned back on after being switched off after some time of inactivity
Michel, this patch seems to work quite well, but still showing some strange behaviour. To sum up, with the new patch : - with one or two screens used, when the screens goes off after some time of inactivity, they can be woken up by moving the mouse. - when two screens are used, from time to time, the screen connected via the VGA port of the graphics card does not goes off. (Its light dims, the screen goes black and then shows the login page again, the dvi-connected screen staying off until I move the mouse). With only one screen used (the dvi one), this behaviour does not appear until now. - Using the ubuntu screen selector, from time to time, when I change from two screens to one screen, the screen goes black only showing the mouse arrow. I have to go to tty1 then press ctrl alt f7 to see the normal screen again. Once, doing this, even the keyboard and the mouse stopped responding. - During the make process of the driver (with the patch), I still get the same warning : radeon_drm_queue.c: In function ‘radeon_drm_queue_alloc’: radeon_drm_queue.c:95:9: warning: return makes integer from pointer without a cast [-Wint-conversion] return NULL; -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1577170 Title: screen cannot be turned back on after being switched off after some time of inactivity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1577170/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

vik, as per http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and- netbooks/ThinkPad-Yoga-Series-laptops/ThinkPad- Yoga/20C0/S1CWAU?linkTrack=GPS%253ABody_Search%2BProducts==false an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is available (1.29). When you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate how does this improve the situation? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. Also, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. The following command(s) report the BIOS and release date: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date which are, after the upgrade: A07 11/11/2015 The new BIOS appears to have resolved the problem, or at least I've had no recurrences since making the BIOS upgrade Thank you. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576844 Title: Touchpad/Trackpad freezes then eventually unfreezes (repeatedly) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1576844/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1599101] [NEW] Rendering corrupted after suspend
Public bug reported: A recent update has made it almost impossible to use almost anything on the desktop without a complete restart of X. This has only started happening in about the last week. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1583303] Re: Laptop not going to suspend when lid closed
Hi Christopher I just tried updating the BIOS using Windows 10 (it's a dualboot system). But it seems the BIOS F.67A is not yet supported by Windows 10: - There's no BIOS update available for download, if you chose Windows 10 - Tried with the BIOS update by chosing Windows 8.1 as OS. BIOS update was successful, rebooted and after some screen blinking suddenly the BIOS recovery started and probably flashed the previous BIOS F.66 back. When I looked at the BIOS setup it does list W7, W8 and W8.1 but not W10 compatibility. However, my BIOS shows now F.67 - not sure if that's true. Will wait for HP to hopefully release something for Windows 10 and then retry and keep you updated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1583303 Title: Laptop not going to suspend when lid closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1583303/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
