[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1686189] Re: External monitor connecting problem on Intel graphics card

2017-06-30 Thread Shay Perlstein
@Giacomo Orlandi, I experience what you describe since day one with
Ubuntu 16.04 (DELL + USB DOCK). My work around is to disable the
flickering screen and revert the settings.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1686189] Re: External monitor connecting problem on Intel graphics card

2017-06-30 Thread Giacomo Orlandi
Sorry for the delay, I tried:
linux-image-4.4.0-83-generic doesn't work
linux-image-4.8.0-040800-generic doesn't work
linux-image-4.10.0-041000-generic works
linux-image-4.11.0-041100-generic works

By the way, I didn't mention is that even the kernel versions that work are far
from perfect. When I first login one of the 2 external screens goes black or
starts flickering, but there is a workaround. I have to switch to text mode
(Ctrl+Alt+F1) and back. With the kernel versions that don't work I couldn't
find any workaround, the external screens go black and they don't switch on
anymore.
Also, when I undock it while it's running it often crashes, and if it doesn't
it crashes when I dock it back. Switching to text mode before docking/undocking
seems to make more stable. That's most likely a different bug though.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1687191] Re: psmouse broken for thinkpad touchpad on carbon x1 5th gen

2017-06-30 Thread Anders Hall
@Fredrik Ok, different problem then. I have tested some more now. It is
still working good in most cases and it seems like disable while typing
has improved as well (might be some update). However, I'm experiencing
micro freezes/locks for the mouse (1-3 seconds) which is very annoying.
I.e., everything is not perfect.

I use this kernel, with standard kernel modules, libunput etc:
Linux boll 4.10.0-24-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 14 08:14:34 UTC 2017 x86_64

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1698287] Re: VA-API fails to initialize in a Gnome Shell Wayland session

2017-06-30 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Here's my first attempt at a fix for totem. Although fixing this bug in
totem then triggers corruption (bug 1701463) as well as higher CPU, so
still needs more verification to see if the higher CPU is just a side-
effect of poor plugin choice or related to the corruption...

Nice! Posting on my real account, don't really use the other ha.

Do they over hang on the slide a tad or no?

I was debating going with the surplus AK mag or a new pmag style one,
glad you prefer these and I made the right choice. Let me know how you
