[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1891235] [NEW] Upon resume from sleep the mouse is down upon moving it, selecting text and dragging icons
Public bug reported: In this Thinkpax X1 Yoga, the touchscreen is managed by this wacom driver. After a few sleep/resume cycles (maybe 4 or 5), the mouse starts acting up: upon moving the mouse, it acts as if it was also down, selecting text or dragging icons in nautilus. It is as if upon click and then move, the mouse is never released, even if it has been. To work around the issue, do: sudo modprobe -r wacom sudo modprobe wacom ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: xserver-xorg-input-wacom 1:0.39.0-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-42.46-generic 5.4.44 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-42-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.6 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Tue Aug 11 21:30:06 2020 DistUpgraded: 2020-05-20 10:21:28,278 DEBUG 'libsignon-glib1' scheduled for remove but not safe to remove, skipping DistroCodename: focal DistroVariant: ubuntu EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-06-24 (1508 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160420.1) Lsusb: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04ca:705a Lite-On Technology Corp. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 992778] Re: Dual Monitor Freeze after changing Display Settings in ubuntu 12.04
No, you cannot use the -intel package from 11.10, because it is build for an older xserver version. Xorg log says: [ 1010.456] BUG: triggered 'if (!dev-valuator || dev-valuator-numAxes 2)' That suggests this is a duplicate of bug 921236. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 798787] [NEW] libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental lacks 32-bit binaries for amd64
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental As far as I know, all drivers for amd64 contain proper 32-bit compatibility binaries to run 32-bit programs. Win32 programs in Wine, and Google Earth, which both run through ia32-libs on amd64 systems, cannot use Nouveau 3D because the 32-bit driver files aren't there. But Nouveau 'experimental' amd64 does not contain any 32-bit binary, though the Nouveau development team says that compiling with -m32 is possible. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 774978] Re: xserver seg'd [945GM]
Marcelo, the record extension will still be loaded indeed. However, without synaptics the extension is not activated. You can check this by attaching gdb to Xorg (from a second pc) and setting a breakpoint on RecordAReply. If the breakpoint is hit, record is active. With synaptics installed (on a pc with a touchpad, so synaptics is actually used) you will see the breakpoint is hit, without synaptics it is not hit. Btw, my current fix/workaround is to build synaptics without record support, by dropping the libxtst-dev build-dependency. This way the touchpad is working properly and X does not crash. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774978 Title: xserver seg'd [945GM] ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 774978] Re: xserver seg'd [945GM]
I have tried running X under strace, but no success. I couldn't reproduce the crash, probably because X became too slow. Log file when calibre was running was 5 GB. I also tried xtrace and valgrind without luck. xtrace only showed what calibre was doing. Valgrind shows errors, but only before and right after login. Also, with valgrind I couldn't reproduce the crash, as X was very slow again. Then I enabled additional debugging in X by defining DEBUG_COMMUNICATION (in os/io.c). I added the requestbuffer address, request name and event name to the debugging output. The attached log looks interesting to me. Right before the crash we see the same requestbuffer is used by 2 different clients: [ 11518.727] REQUEST: ClientIDX: 6, type: 0x89 data: 0xa len: 8 buffer: 0x7f3071065010 name: DRI2 [ 11518.729] REQUEST: ClientIDX: 32, type: 0x35 data: 0x18 len: 4 buffer: 0x7f3071065010 name: CreatePixmap [ 11518.746] REPLY: ClientIDX: 6 buffer: 0x7f3071065010 Xreply: type: 0x1 data: 0xff len: 0 seq#: 0x1802 [ 11518.747] Segmentation fault at address 0x7f3071065010 (clientidx 32 is calibre, clientidx 6 is most likely compiz) As RecordAReply uses the requestbuffer to find the details of the DRI2 request, this looks very suspicious to me. ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log (8 MB) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/774978/+attachment/2117464/+files/Xorg.log.debug3 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774978 Title: xserver seg'd [945GM] ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 776749] [NEW] xserver crashed with segfault in RecordAReply
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Xserver frequently crashes when I start calibre and switch between different ebooks in the ebook list. This crash is quite reproducible, about 80% of the times I run calibre. The crash happens both in unity and in classic desktop session, but only when compiz is active. When I switch of sync to vblank in compiz, the crash does not happen. Attached is a full stacktrace. It looks like the client does not have a reference to the X request when the X reply is processed in RecordAReply. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 651294] Re: X crash on KDM logout (still - yes, really)
I noticed the refcount patch was applied in natty and can confirm logging out has been working fine in natty for the past couple of weeks. xorg-server (2:1.9.99.902-2ubuntu1) natty; urgency=low ... * 215_glx_drawable_refcounting.diff: - Refcount GLXDrawables to avoid use-after-free crashes. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 730278] Re: Xorg fails to start with fglrx in mult-monitor mode with right-rotated monitor
Thanks cdr. I updated my driver with this PPA, I removed my workaround, rotate the screen with the catalyst control center, saved and reboot. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 730278] Re: Xorg fails to start with fglrx in mult-monitor mode with right-rotated monitor
Same kind of behavior here : * Radeon HD 4670 [RV730XT] * Ubuntu 10.10 32bit * fglrx from Ubuntu * left screen 1920x1200 * right screen 1280x1024 I can configure screen with the catalyst tool, with the right screen rotate left. The result is apply directly but when I boot (or restart Xorg) the computer is unresponsive (like a kernel panic), no keyboard, no network (can't ssh access). Then I save a conf with catalyst tool without rotation and reboot : it works ! So my workaround is to push on the start of my gnome session the following command : xrandr --output DFP2 --rotate left Thanks xrandr, I can dynamically rotate my screen and the result is here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730278 Title: Xorg fails to start with fglrx in mult-monitor mode with right-rotated monitor ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
