[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 685825] Re: problems using ubuntu on a macbook in true efi mode
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I've installed ubuntu on a macbook 6,1 with true EFI booting, this time not with rEFIt. Interestingly, some hardware problems have arisen. The first is that the first ten function keys work (with Fn of course) but the F11 and F12 keys invoke middle mouse click and right mouse click for reasons I can't seem to understand. This is, of course, with Fn pressed (the non-Fn functions, lower and raise sound volume respectively, work fine). - The second problem I've noticed is that only one core on the Core 2 Duo - CPU seems to be detected. This is evident in gnome-system-monitor and - coretemp, but not lshw, which reports both cores correctly. + The second problem I've noticed is that only one core on the Core 2 Duo CPU seems to be detected. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 525155] Re: OpenGL renders extremely slowly with NVIDIA drivers
I think I know what it /could/ be! I have been using a clean (no-nvidia, no-xorg.conf) system for a while now and today I removed plymouth: sudo apt-get purge ^.*plymouth.*\$ Anyway, upon installing NVIDIA 195.36.08 through Jockey, this is the /third/ restart and Compiz through OpenGL is working without a hitch! Also, by me not using Plymouth, I am no longer affected by the current Plymouth bug which causes X to restart when hitting the Enter key. I'll keep you posted; if the driver continues to work, the bug could be a conflict link between nvidia and plymouth... -- OpenGL renders extremely slowly with NVIDIA drivers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525155 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
