2019-11-18 Thread Marcin P
After latest Ubuntu updates mouse seems to work properly without having
to execute

$ sudo hcitool lecup --handle 3585 --latency 0 --min 6 --max 8

Versions in my system:

$ uname -a

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1852083] [NEW] [HP ZBook Studio G5, Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, bluetooth mouse] Choppy/laggy bluetooth mouse cursor movement

2019-11-11 Thread Marcin P
Public bug reported:

1. Pair Logitech MX Master 3 bluetooth mouse with Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS (don't use
Logitech bluetooth dongle, use built in laptop bluetooth)
2. Move cursor.
Cursor movement is choppy, laggy, like it's having 20 FPS refresh rate.

Workaround:
execute in terminal: `sudo hcitool lecup --handle 3585 --latency 0 --min 6
--max 8`
This command must be used every time the mouse is connected to the laptop
(after turning on the laptop, after some time of mouse inactivity etc.).

When using Logitech bluetooth dongle this problem never occurs.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1852071] Re: [HP ZBook Studio G5, Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS] Brightness function keys works as microphone mute function keys

2019-11-11 Thread Marcin P
Sound function keys works almost OK:
1) fn+F5 mute/unmute outgoing sound, OK, however LED inside the key is always
off
2) fn+F6 decrease volume, OK
3) fn+F7 increase volume, OK
4) fn+F8 mute/unmute, OK, however LED inside the key is always off

But there are other function keys doesn't work as they should. For example:
5) fn+F12 Calendar - doesn't open the calendar, but does some weird changes to
keyboard layout?
6) fn+F13 Share screen - doesn't do anything, LED inside the key is always off
7) fn+F14 "Call" mostly isn't doing anything; in Firefox it shows/hides menu
bar; LED inside the key is always off
6) fn+F15 "End Call" seems not doing anything, LED inside the key is always off

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1590590] Re: Touchpad not recognized on Dell Latitude E7470 Ultrabook

2016-09-15 Thread Marcin Szałowicz
Bump, e5470 here 4.4.0-36 kernel still no TouchPad options.
Two finger scroll works
Naturall scrolling is enabled - no way to disable it. That's the biggest
problem for me.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1574266] Re: Xorg freeze [drm] stuck on render ring - gpu hanging too fast, banning

2016-05-16 Thread Marcin Sochacki
New finding: installing xserver-xorg-video-intel actually solved the
problem for me, LibreOffice is no longer causing Xorg to crash.
Previously I think Xorg was working using modesetting driver instead of
intel, though I might be wrong.

My HW: Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 on FUJITSU
LIFEBOOK E754.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1574266] Re: Xorg freeze [drm] stuck on render ring - gpu hanging too fast, banning

2016-05-04 Thread Marcin Sochacki
For me it is 100% reproducible with LibreOffice, especially when one
quits LO uncleanly and then on the next run it opens a dialog asking
about file recovery. Whatever I click in that dialog, LibreOffice will
hang for a while and then the whole X session is restarted.

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1510970] Re: Intel driver crashes on Ubuntu 15.10

2015-11-03 Thread Marcin Miszczuk
Hello; i have had the same issues on others DE like Manjaro, Mageia and Linux
Mint. Now, i'm trying Antergos (Arch distro with Gnome default); crashes
continue;i've found this site
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_graphics and i did this: to enable
KMS during the initramfs stage. To do this, add the i915 module to the MODULES
line in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf. And i've changed  LDM  for GDM. For now, since
few days, crashes stopped.
Cheers;

Intel driver crashes on Ubuntu 15.10

Status in xserver-xorg-video-intel package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Xserver crashes randomly after upgrading to Ubuntu 15.10. Before
  the update everything was stable.

The problem occured mostly while using Thunderbird but also once while

The Xserver crashes and I'm logged out. It takes about 10 seconds
until gdm fires up again and I'm able to login again.

Also happens with Google Chrome. If the application starts in maximized
mode, it will render its contents fine, until demaximized and maximized
again.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 980519] Re: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

2012-12-15 Thread Marcin Domański
Looks like this bug is affecting me as well. Like may others, I am also
running 12.04.1 + nvidia, with 310.14 proprietary drivers and
3.2.0-34.53 kernel. But I am experiencing it under Gnome Classic.

>From my recent observations, it ALWAYS happens in the same way:
* always on startup (I log in automatically)
* and after pressing ENTER in a application, be it Google Chrome (the address
field, or search field in gmail) or Gnome Terminal. It looks like the trigger
is always the ENTER key. I key in a URL, or a command in the terminal and press
ENTER, and then it happens, always.

After logging in again, the problem disappears.

This patch is in xorg-server-1.12.2.901. Can you still reproduce it on
this version?

Note that this bug can be workarounded by disabling smooth scrolling on
xf86-input-evdev side - it's one line change:

diff --git a/src/evdev.h b/src/evdev.h

-#define HAVE_SMOOTH_SCROLLING 1
+//#define HAVE_SMOOTH_SCROLLING 1
 #endif

That's what I'm running right now...

I believe bug description is wrong. Just moving mouse was enough to make
scroll not working. I said "was", because I fixed this a few days ago -
see

2011-03-17 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Bug happens also on my Radeon HD5450 nevermind do I use natty or xorg-
edgers packages.

Situation looks like everything works and then desktop freezes, turns to
black for moment, switches back to desktop. Sometimes it happens once or
few times and system is usable again. But sometimes it makes gfx card
unusable so reboot is required to get system working properly again.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 380126] Re: [Karmic] Touchpad not recognised correctly, synaptics driver not in use

2010-12-31 Thread Marcin Naglik
Can anybody test the patch:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=41862

attached to the:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15416

It's coded for Vostro V13, but currently I don't have the V13 to test
it.

Thanks a lot for the output.
Cheers,
Marcin

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 380126] Re: [Karmic] Touchpad not recognised correctly, synaptics driver not in use

2010-03-14 Thread Marcin Naglik
Hi,
I did test it previously on the latest upstream kernel 2.6.33 and it seems not
to change anything - the bug still exist. I've seen that in the meantime there
was 2.6.34-rc1 published - I did try to install but this kernel seems to not
start at all on my vostro v13.

Nonetheless I removed the needs-upstream-testing tag as you said.

I've also submitted a bug to the kernel some time ago:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15416

Thanks,

2010-02-27 Thread Marcin Naglik
Let me do a quick update about vostro.
Adding i8042.nomux to the kernel parameters at least allow the touchpad to be
recognized.

The Touchpad tab is visible in System->Preferences->Mouse
but when touching, tapping touchpad cursor doesn't move at all and the
following is logged:

psmouse.c: bad data from KBC - timeout

Same here on Vostro V13 - it seems not to recognize the touchpad.

dmesg:
[ 19.947803] input: PS/2 Generic Mouse as
/devices/platform/i8042/serio2/input/input11

/proc/bus/input/devices also do not show the Synaptic device

Only tpconfig sees the touchpad:

Found Synaptics Touchpad.
Firmware: 8.96 (multiple-byte mode).
Sensor type: unknown (0).
Geometry: rectangular/landscape/up.
Packets: absolute, 80 packets per second.
Corner taps disabled; no tap gestures.
Edge motion: none.
Z threshold: 6 of 7.
2 button mode; corner tap is right button click

I'm really confused why Dell is selling it with Ubuntu in that case...

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 479839] Re: Synaptics Touchpad on Dell Inspiron 2650 not always working after restart

2010-01-19 Thread Marcin Miklas
I didn't notice any improvement, when usb mouse is connected. Touchpad
work or don't work with the same probability. I also noticed that
sometimes keybourd doesn't work, much less frequently than touchpad.
Strange thing that I didn't see any errors or warnings in system logs,
it seems that when touchpad isn't working it isn't detected at all.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 479839] [NEW] Synaptics Touchpad on Dell Inspiron 2650 not always working after restart

2009-11-10 Thread Marcin Miklas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

After upgrading from Ubuntu 9.04, touchpad on my Dell Inspiron 2650 didn't work
sometimes. I mean, that sometimes after restart it works ok, but after other
restart it doesn't work at all. USB mouse works ok everytime.
I made also a clean install of Ubuntu 9.10 and the effect is the same.
It's annoying regression from Ubuntu 9.04.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 383086] [NEW] no Direct Rendering in Karmic with KMS and xorg-edgers

2009-06-03 Thread Marcin Giedz
Public bug reported:

Hi,

After some test with Jaunty and KMS/xorg-edgers for Intel I switched to
Karmic Alpha with latest update + Intel from xorg-edgers + i915-kms.conf
+ update-initramfs.

Results are:
1) KMS is ON and is fine really but needed to do manual init-ramfs rebuild as
without it (only options i915 modeset=1 in i915-kms.conf file) kernel's got
ooops.
2) There is NO Direct Rendering any more in X - please find ubuntu-bug report
in attachment

Perhaps UXA is not used at this time however I read that UXA in enabled
by default in edgers?

Thanks,
Marcin

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 377875] Re: [945G/GZ] Kubuntu: no direct rendering (KMS bug)

2009-05-28 Thread Marcin Giedz
... "there is no Direct Rendering any more" - my mistake!!! but:

1) adding "i915 modeset=1" ONLY to /etc/modules in my case did NOTHING really.
No KMS at all
2) adding "intel_agp drm i915 modeset=1" to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and
update on initrd WORKS! - I have KMS and Direct Rendering! I can even switch to
VT1-6 with not flickering! Awesome!

However I can now see that KDM (KDE) "switches" during boot time, which
I couldn't find previously - but this probably is KDM bug related to
KMS.

Thanks a lot If I can do anything else for you - let me know!

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 377875] Re: [945G/GZ] Kubuntu: no direct rendering (KMS bug)

2009-05-28 Thread Marcin Giedz
Hi

This time I've cleaned all logs, and did rebuild initrd changing /etc
/initramfs-tools/modules (added i915 modeset=1) by :sudo update-
initramfs.

Now:
1) I ran with KMS and got KDM :) - brilliant!
2) there is Direct Rendering any more and xorg process seems to run with 99%
CPU load when doing simple thing like dragging window .. even now typing I have
20-30% CPU load for xorg ... but KMS works fine!!!

If you need more help just let me know

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 377875] Re: [945G/GZ] no direct rendering after upgrade to KMS/intel-2.7.1

2009-05-26 Thread Marcin Giedz
I've got everything installed so I only changed modeset=0 but result was
still the same and I couldn't switch to VT. So I commented : #i915
modeset=0 from /etc/module and /etc/initramfs-tools/modules ... and I
can run KDM on 2.6.30-6 but obviously there is no KMS enabled. I'm
adding 2 Xorg logs - one Xorg.0.log is current session (no KMS), and
previous one Xorg.0.log.old (i915 modeset=1). Hope that helps.

What can I do next?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 377875] Re: [945G/GZ] no direct rendering after upgrade to KMS/intel-2.7.1

2009-05-24 Thread Marcin Giedz
Latest update: I installed kernel 2.6.30-6 from Karmic and results are
still the same -> can't run into graphic mode after reboot (no KDM) and
monitor says "Resolution out of range".

How can I help to developers with this, any suggestions?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 377875] Re: [945G/GZ] no direct rendering after upgrade to KMS/intel-2.7.1

2009-05-19 Thread Marcin Giedz
I know there is no KMS for 2.6.28. Simply I'd like to do tests with new
Intel drivers/mesa/drm and kernel. After little investigation it appeared
that taking latest mesa/drm/intel from sarvatt and kernel 2.6.30-5 I
don't have composition enabled. So I decided to try 2.6.28 with latest
sarvatt. It works quite stable.
