[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1767468] Re: Upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 disables hardware acceleration on Intel Graphics
Ok I fixed the problem on my system. This has nothing to do with libglvnd but I don't know to which package it should be attributed. Problem (at least for me) seems to be linked to /etc/X11/Xsession.d/50_check_unity_support that fails (as I had uninstalled unity after update) and causes Xsession to fall-back on LLVMPipe. Remove or comment that file and accelerated drivers are back OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 (Skylake GT2) Hope this helps, and that someone more experienced can tag the appropriate package so that the update removes this leftover check. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to libglvnd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767468 Title: Upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 disables hardware acceleration on Intel Graphics To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libglvnd/+bug/1767468/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1767468] Re: Upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 disables hardware acceleration on Intel Graphics
Running on a live evaluation gets proper HW acceleration, but I'd really rather avoid having to reinstall if it can be avoided. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1767468] Re: Upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 disables hardware acceleration on Intel Graphics
Similar problem. I actually had updated to 18.04 beta, with no problems. The issue manifested itself after I upgraded to the final release yesterday. I don't think it's related to similar other bugs as I have libegl-mesa0 . I also cannot find any error message in the logs, seems that Xorg loads all of the HW acceleration libraries just fine, but for some reason gnome-shell runs on llvmpipe.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1141853] [NEW] Need a dipendence to work properly
Public bug reported: I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 x64 on my desktop with GeForce 8500GT. I have some lags using nouveau, so i have decided to install the package using the tool 'software sources' (but is the same with apt-get command). After the reboot, the video server does not work anymore, fortunately removing the package from the console restore the situation. Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 770283] Re: [fglrx]title bar does not update on non-maximized windows
I'm trying your PPA, it'work, but since I added the PPA sometimes when a program opens a popup (for example nautilus asking you if you want to overwrite a file or not, libreoffice asking you if you want save your document using an open format or the MS one), compiz hangs, I cannot interact with the UI, and I have to kill Xorg. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 745112] Re: [arrandale] desktop is messed up (goes black) when laptop is docked with two external 1920x1200 monitors (x86_64)
I installed the kernel posted by Timo, and so far I am pretty happy with it. Let me test it for a few days, though: on my machine (thinkpad t410) these crashes are a bit erratic. This is what I tested so far: Booted docked - correctly shows both LVDS and external monitor undocked - correctly updates monitors to display only LVDS re-docked - updates and shows both LVDS and external monitor suspended docked, undocked, resumed - black screen. fixed by switching to console and back suspended undocked, docked, resumed - shows both LVDS and external monitor correctly.
