[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 950469] Re: mouse doesn't work with AlpsPS/2 DualPoint driver

2012-03-09 Thread Seth Forshee
Rohit: I played back your evemu-record capture, and it looks like the
driver is working fine. I'm going to add a task for xserver-xorg-input-
synaptics here. What I really suspect is that you have some sort of
misconfiguration of your system causing the issue.

Can you run the following to attach some additional information to the
bug? Please do so while the touchpad is not working, i.e. without
passing proto=exps to the psmouse driver. Thanks!

  apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 950469

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected has-workaround reproducible ubuntu

** Description changed:

When I boot into my machine after upgrade to Precise I am unable to move
my mouse pointer on the screen using my touchpad. As a workaround I can
load psmouse proto=exps and have basic mouse functionality.

The expected and desired behaviour is to have my mouse working out of
the box and for it to support gestures such as two finger scrolling etc
out of the box. psmouse proto=exps only gives basic functionality and no
  gesture support.

  xinput list shows the following:
