Re: [UC] on the UCLipServ
is something like this possible? Lew, It's important to look at power imbalances and abuses, when you wish to consider the causes of incivility on the UCLipServ. Remember, most dirty little people can not show our civility at closed BID steering committees, or closed Master Plan Steering Committees, or closed Clark Park Partnerships, or closed Spruce Hill zoning committees! Crazy ranters and criminals only have our vital UCLipServ to expose secret plots against our neighbors and community. So no is the answer. This common decency concept is not possible in the midst of ongoing bullying, exclusion, betrayal and injustice in our community. Can you please tell me the time, date, and location of the next closed secret Clark Park Partnership meeting? I've been repeating this civil request for ten years and have only received ad hominem attacks as a response!!! Since I answered your question, can you have the common decency to answer mine? I will post the information on the UCLipServ, since the FOCP Board is too damn stupid to make public announcements or listen to its members. The limitations of email messages makes it difficult to tell your tone. I ask this because invoking the bible in order to skewer someone you disagree with doesn't seem to be in the spirit of either Passover or Easter. As for Mr. Lussenhop, he's perfectly entitled to ignore the listserve, but he does so at his peril, I believe. -Original Message- From: craigso...@aol.com To: UnivCity@list.purple.com Cc: glen...@earthlink.net Sent: Wed, Mar 31, 2010 12:03 pm Subject: Re: [UC] on the UCLipServ In a message dated 3/31/2010 14:38:47 Eastern Daylight Time, glen...@earthlink.net writes: It's important to look at power imbalances and abuses, when you wish to consider the causes of incivility snip BID steering committeessnip Master Plan Steering Committees snip Clark Park Partnerships snip Spruce Hill zoning committees! Absolutely! The limitations of email messages makes it difficult to tell your tone. Sharky Uyehara used to express the same concern; I miss his posts. I ask this because invoking the bible in order to skewer someone you disagree with doesn't seem to be in the spirit of either Passover or Easter. In terms of creating dynamic tension Jesus tells us to sell our cloak to buy a sword but admonishes us when we imprudently employ it. Passover was a deadly plague for non-believers and beasts, and freedom for the Israelite slaves. There would be no Easter without a terrible brutal sacrifice. Such conflict is why exegesis is so much fun. The Bible remains popular because there is an ongoing human identification with its moral values even when they conflict with our actions or personal expectations. As for Mr. Lussenhop, he's perfectly entitled to ignore the listserv, but he does so at his peril, I believe. Do you find it empowering to be brutally honest or pleasing to impart freedom with the truth? Thanks for reading and asking; I am honored. Ignore the discordant's siren song; and may you know peace as you follow the Believer's voice of victory. Craig
