If it is the squeezelite process actually dying as you say, you could
create a cron job (that runs every hour say) that looks for the process
having stopped and if it has restarts it. Relatively straight forward
to do.

Hello

Thank you for this great tool, just installed on my Pi to replace a
Squeezebox.Running fine with Synology as main server (LMS)

I'm looking how to play automatically a radio station (or one of my
favorite) just after the boot.

Squeezelite is started automatically, but the music/radio is not
launched automatically ?

IS there a specifis parameter to use on squeezelite to play radio
directly ?

Thank you

Thomas

JiveLite is a controlling application, not a player. What you want to do
is control the player. Run SqueezePlay (or JiveLite...) on your PC instead.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Community Squeeze OS R3

2013-05-16 Thread JackOfAll

KERNEL-WAND-3.0.35-CM43
Updated kernel includes 160 patches from 'Freescale git'
(rel_imx_3.0.35_4.0.0) that have been sync'd into 'Wandboard git'
(Reverted ENGR00254267 MX6DL/MX6SL max freq: Fix max cpu freq at 1G on
MX6DL ARD. Results in the loss of 1GHz core speed. 800MHz is the max
with patch applied.)

The latest kernels have dependencies on a new uboot package. The
uEnv.txt file is no longer included in the kernel package, it is
contained in uboot-wandboard-env. I screwed up a little when making the
switch, not providing a clean upgrade path. So if you have any kernels
installed, older than cm39+. eg. kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm38+.fc18, you
need to remove them before installing the update, or you wont be able to
install the update due to a conflict with uEnv.txt being owned by two
packages.

So basically, you run...

Code:

  $ rpm -q kernel-wand
  kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm38+.fc18.armv7hnl
  kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm37+.fc18.armv7hnl

... which will list the kernels you have installed. Any with a lower
number than cm39 in the name, you remove them. eg.

Code:

  sudo yum remove kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm38+.fc18 kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm37+.fc18

(NB. Use the package name returned by the rpm -q, without the
.armv7hnl!)

Now you install the new kernel...

Install...

Code:

  sudo csos-cleanInstall-testing kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm43.fc18

Changes...

Code:

  * Tue May 14 2013 - 3.0.35-cm43
  - Revert ENGR00254267.patch.

  * Tue May 14 2013 - 3.0.35-cm42
  - Update to latest wandboard git 8d5d7282de02a8d3a0f07477f10ce16092ed7c8f.

Anyone not interested in the techy stuff, stop reading.

Wandboard uboot is included in mainline uboot since 2013.04 release. F18
ARM uses 2012.10. The uboot src rpm I have created for the 2013.04
release does not replace the Fedora uboot package. It just adds 3 new
packages, uboot-wandboard-dl, (which contains the uboot imx binary for
the dual lite board), uboot-wandboard-solo (which contains the uboot imx
binary for the solo board), and uboot-wandboard-env, (which contains
uEnv.txt). Too much of a risk to use the 2013.04 release for omap, tegra
and every other platform that is built from the Fedora uboot. I can't
validate, so I have left alone. (I still want the CSOS image to work on
the BeagleBone, which it currently does.) When Fedora switches to a
later uboot source, which supports the Wandboard, we'll build from that
and drop our standalone package.

Wouldn't it jump to Now Playing once you start playback on the controlled

Correct, Alberto. (Don't forget to substitute cm43 for cm41 in the
instructions. And when you copy the kernel binary rpm from the desktop
machine to the WB, install it with yum so it pulls the uboot-wandboard-*
dependency packages from the repo. ie. sudo yum install
./kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm43.fc18.armv7hnl.rpm. It'll probably complain
that your kernel package is not signed, which is OK to ignore, just
press 'Y' to continue.)

not a real problem until you want to add a plugin then there is no

trackstat info on the occasions I have seen it, but I don't know if that
is the cause. I reckon I could replicate, but then again one time you
look at the screen its fine and then the next time you look at it then

Download the src rpm, not the binary.

Code:

  wget
http://www.communitysqueeze.org/repo/18/testing/SRPMS/kernel-wand-3.0.35-cm43.fc18.src.rpm

[SlimDevices: Unix] Bluetooth source audio

2013-05-16 Thread SteUK

Hi dudes,

Got an LMS system setup in my house, running 4 zones on 3 raspberry
pi's. Wondering if anyone knows of a solution that would allow me to
push bluetooth audio out from my laptop, phone, etc to my LMS server pi
(which would have a bluetooth dongle).

I know it _can_ be done (in theory only) as I currently can do this in
my car from iPhone to asus eee car-pc (running windows xp).

Cheers
Ste

If when you try and build from a src rpm you get a failed build
dependency, just install it. So

Code:

  sudo yum install lzma

... and run the build again.
