Have you updated recently?
If so, try port 8081 instead as that seems to be the new home of the
newer, faster web interface

 Hi JackofAll

Over the weekend my Wandboard has got in a state. It started with losing
connection with my windows home server, and then I found I couldn't
complete a scan. Now I can't get access to wandboard:8080. Before I lost
contact I did see some messages regarding not being able to write to
various locations and I wondered if my MicroSD might be full. I was
going to wipe it and start again (with the latest image) but before I do
can you suggest anything which might diagnose or fix the issue so it
doesn't happen to others? I did try looking in the scanner.log but it's
empty (I can still connect to wandboard:9000), and I couldn't see a way
to clear the cache or I would have tried that. Lastly, if I do end up
wiping the card and starting again would you advise copying of some
files like fstab so I don't lose all of my settings?

 CW

Chunkywizard, I'd be looking at the simple things first. From what you
say, it seems that your MicroSD card might be failing...so if possible
I'd certainly backup fstab, smb.conf (if you have one), your LMS
favorites file which you will find at /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs.
Once you have done that, I would use a new MicroSD card and load up the
latest CSOS image to it. Then copy your fstab etc on to the new card. At
this stage, it would be worth backing up the new clean image to your
WHS so that in the event of SD failure you have a readily available
easily installable complete backup of your personal CSOS.

Best of luck:-)

Don’t know how much of these pages are already functional, but below is
a list of my experiences with the lua web interface so far. Note that I
haven’t yet done any extensive testing:

1. It is a lot faster. Not that I was concerned about the java web
performance (one probably only uses this at the initial setup)
2. The java web at port 8080 doesn’t work anymore. I only get a black
page. Is this the way it is supposed to be? There are a number of things
I can’t configure anymore in the current state (see below)
3. Ethernet interface: there are no fields for entering fixed IP
addresses
4. Same for Wireless interface: no fixed ip fields
5. Squeezelite player: Alsa params: the default for the spdif interface
is ::16: and can’t be changed. Is that supposed to work like this?
6. Storage page: the mounted file systems box is empty even when
pressing refresh.

Sorry guys, I'm bogged down with a bunch of things that have absolutely
nothing to do with Wandboard or music players.

I'm already aware of the issue with the squeeze-web-gui-lua squeezelite

checked-in the fix, so no-one else needs to report that. Probably won't
be able to build and push a new package until later this afternoon.

1. Is your SSID hidden?

If you place this file on a USB stick that is present during booting of
your piCorePlayer, the file newconfig.cfg, will be copied and used as
the config.cfg file on the piCorePlayer.
It has been suggested that I should put this file in the FAT-formatted
partition on the SD-Card, and I might do that in the next version. But
for now you need to put it on a USB-stick that is present during
 booting.

I have tried 3 different sticks all FAT formatted and 2 different
picoreplayers and put the file called newconfig.cfg in the root of the
stick however the pi never picks it up and as a result doesnt pick up
the new config. The most important new config is the Wifi so I can
connect to it without having to unwire it and stick the ethernet in to
it to setup the wifi.

Am i missing something or is there some debug i could give you to help?

With the base package, squeeze-web-gui, you need to access via tomcat,

If you install the ROOT subpackage as well, sudo
csos-cleanInstall-testing squeeze-web-gui-ROOT, you can access via the
root of tomcat, and will be re-directed, http://wandboard.local:8080/;.

If you also install the httpd subpackage, sudo
csos-cleanInstall-testing squeeze-web-gui-httpd you can access via

http://wandboard.local/squeeze;, ie. without specifying the tomcat port
(8080).

EDIT: I would suggest that anyone updating to the F19 testing repo
 squeeze-web-gui package, ...

Code:

   sudo csos-cleanInstall-testing squeeze-web-gui-ROOT squeeze-web-gui-httpd

Thanks JackOfAll that works fine.
I first tried http://wandboard.local:8080/squeeze/; without installing

Ideally, you should be able to ping whatever lies between // and / and
get a response (firewalls permitting). The most common mistake is to
think that because we are talking to a Windows share we need

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Howto: build a self-contained LMS

2014-02-10 Thread Cabal2002

Hi,

Thanks for this tutorial but it's not working for me :(
The buildme.sh script failed building DBD-SQLite-1.34_01. So i modified
the script and DBD-SQLite-1.38_05 went through. But now when i try to
run slimserver.pl I get this error:

Code:

DBD::SQLite object version 1.38_05 does not match bootstrap parameter
1.34_01 at
/opt/perl-5.14.2-LMS/lib/5.14.2/i686-linux-thread-multi/DynaLoader.pm line 213.

What am I missing:confused:

Regards Cabal

Ideally, you should be able to ping whatever lies between // and / and
get a response (firewalls permitting). The most common mistake is to
think that because we are talking to a Windows share we need
backslashes; forward slashes are, in fact, mandatory.

Excellent...thanks!!

So tell me...can only one device be mounted at one time?? I threw on a
usb stick with a few cd's...it came up fine...mounted it fine...then I
go to mount my network drive and the usb stick was removed...just
wondering...thanks!!

That looks fine to me... strange...
I can come up with two things to try:

1. Although your AP seems to be using a pre-shared key, try using WAP
instead of WPA 2.

2. This is might be a long shot but can you try using channel 11 instead
of channel 1 on your AP?
There are quite a few wireless networks in your area and a few of them
are quite strong on channel 1.
I noticed that my Quad board is more sensitive to interference than my
Dual boards.

Another thing I noticed too...when I put in the usb stick...pointed
squeeze server to scan it...which worked fine...I was not able to choose
that player in my Squeeze Commander droid app...SqueezeliteWAND is my
default...wandboard being the secondary with the usb stick...I'm
assuming I should be able too just like when my Touch was connected and
I could go between it and the WB...

You can mount several drives but you need to be careful with the
mounting point. Ideally you would create different directories for
different sources.
So, your *fstab* entry looks something like (fstab is locate in the /etc
directory):

//ip-address or uuid/Music *mounting point* cifs nofail,rw, 0 0

The second entry is where the drive will be mounted. Create a different
one for each source, ex: /storage/drive1 and /storage/drive2 and so on.
You create directories with *mkdir*

Makes sense...k...did that through Putty...rebooted WB...my directories
show up under /storage but they are not available in the drop down menu
under the storage tab through the gui...

Secondly...set router to channel 11 WPA only and still no dice...still
says inactive under my wireless tab...

I don't know how far the gui is in supporting the mounting. JackOfAll
and Triode might give us some inside on this.
I guess you better give it try by manually editing /etc/fstab and add
your drives yourself.

I honestly have no more ideas to share on this one. Don't understand why
it doesn't work.

Ya...might take a stab at that...I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to
Linux LOL!!!

And I'm kinda lost as well with the wireless :)

There are some samples in the fstab file who are very useful.
Otherwise, just post here what shares and / or USB drives (along with
their details) you want to mount and we'll help you out with that.

I understand. Hopefully I or someone else will have an idea where to
look next. But at this time I'm out of ideas...
There's still a slight chance that you have an hardware issue. Do you
have a second Wandboard to test?
