Greg,

I have the same DurioSound DAC as Squeezed Rotel and also use HiFiBerry
driver. I can do a test with the native driver and report back my
findings.

I'm not sure what source code you are referring to but I did find the
source code for the DurioSound DAC at '_this_ '
(https://github.com/pitichai/linux_durio_sound/blob/rpi-3.12.y/sound/soc/bcm/duriosound-dac.c)location.

Arie

Hi Squeezed_Rotel,

Don't worry about it! Life is too short to start learning vi. ;)

Thanks for the offer, but Australia is too far away. US to Australia
(and return) postage is prohibitive.

I'll just have to look harder to find the source code. It will be
somewhere obvious!!

The problem a number of plugin developers noticed is that the repository
URL which point to a single XML file - have suddenly got a lot of HTTP
redirections which can be break the requesting code (redirectionlimit
exceeded) and is reported as a failure.

I suggest just for info try a "wget" on your URL and see if it is
redirected. The last URL may only require http.

hi bpa and thanks,

In our case we are using http. If we change to https, it works!

I have been trying to find "official" information as to what changed,
have you seen any? There was a brief mention of implementing https
"properly" but very little actual detail.

I have been hoping sourceforge change back, but I haven't noticed any
complaints other than here.

On other plugin which use sourceforger we found that sourceforge is
using redirecting a lot - the solutuion is to use the last redirection
which can vary depending on yourlocation - for picoplayer onstead of
using

Hi maddymarc,

In my experience LMS does a very good job of tidying up the list of
players. LMS seems to refresh this list after a few minutes. LMS stores
a record of each player based in the MAC address, so if you are changing
from Ethernet to wifi you will change your MAC address and therefore
have 2 records for a few minutes.

If you are in [Normal] or greater mode, you should be seeing a row of
tabs on the top of the web pages. This is an accurate list of all the
"squeezelite" players LMS thinks are available. If you name all your
players the same, multiple tabs will highlight black but they will
control the correct piCorePlayer because LMS uses the MAC address to
distinguish between them.

As you can imagine, I sometimes to a reinstall of piCorePlayer on
multiple piCorePlayers many times in one day, never had a problem. Until
recently my LMS was unchanged for over a year, setting and forgetting
hundreds of piCorePlayers.

Sorry I can't tell you how to do a refresh, because I have never had
too. ;)

But as we know, anything can happen, so hopefully someone else can jump
in and help. :confused:

Greg

Hi Squeezed_Rotel,

Thanks for posting your results. Have you tried to use the "real"
drivers for the RPI-DAC? I am trying to add that option, so you can't do
it via pCP at the moment.

If you feel confident in using vi and have some time, can you try this
and post the results again. What I am looking for is the name of card 1
when using the RPI-DAC driver.

Code:

$ cd
  $ m1
  $ c1
  $ vicfg

  Do these edits in vi.

  #dtoverlay=sndrpihifiberry
  dtoverlay=rpi-dac

  $ pcp br

@all

Does anyone know the location of the source code for these device tree
stuff. I have looked at it many times but now I need it I can't remember
where it is located.

A Synology NAS is really easy to set up with LMS now they have
introduced a beta version of LMS 7.9, but would cost you £200+ ($300+).
I have also successfully used a Raspberry Pi 2 with SqueezePlug/Max2play
installed and with music stored on a large capacity memory stick in one
of the USB sockets. A USB portable hard drive would be good as well,
but it may need to go through a powered hub rather than directly into
the Raspberry Pi. This setup was just as fast as the NAS and a rather
lower cost solution (circa £50 / $70 with case). If you want to use it
as a player as well as a server then a USB DAC would be advisable.

Relevant forum thread is here:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?103218-New-Complete-Web-Bases-SqueezePlug-Version-Available

Personally I stuck with the Synology as I use it mainly for backup and
serving files over the web and to my mobile phone, so the LMS
implementation was just a bonus extra. Unless you need a NAS I would go
with the Raspberry Pi installation.
