[SlimDevices: Unix] Squeezelite on PI3, interruptions every ~5 secs
Hi there, I want to use a PI3 connected to my audio receiver as a squeezelite player. So far it is working if I start with only: squeezelite -o default:CARD=ALSA -s 192.168.1.23 However, every 5 seconds sound shuts off and seems to start over (volume goes from low to high) - what did I miss here? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Can't connect to LMS after reboot
My problem in indeed related to the missing log files. Every time I reboot the directory /var/log/squeezeboxserver disappears. If I manually create a directory and a stub for server.log and start LMS manually everything is fine. How strange is that? Apart from samba there is nothing running on my server. If I create additional dummy files in var/log they also get deleted after a reboot. What on earth would cause this to happen?? I don't even know where to look MartinK's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66540 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106864 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
You don't really need either the "<<" or ">>" as the little blue spot on the bar showing the position of the time to play / played is sticky allowing a swipe to skip either forward or backward. Well, they're there to skip to previous/next tracks, too. Skipping back is missing. But I rarely go back to the beginning of a track. But often want to skip a track and go to the next right away. I'm currently looking into a way to make the buttons configurable. But I'm rather new to skin programming :-). Excellent idea Michael, uses the screen area to advantage. It would be over the top to suggest that a swipe on the cover would bring up the back.jpg and any other local artwork, wouldn't it? Again: I'm pretty new to this. And even getting the buttons to work on top of the artwork made me scratch my head. I tend to believe that there is a bug in the underlying code which would not respect the z-order when touching UI elements. Eg. even if a button is on top of the artwork, and the artwork has a touch handler, then that latter would be executed instead of the button's. IMHO that's wrong. But I fear with my little knowledge of the code I'd break more than I'd fix if I tried to change this behaviour fundamentally... -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Ok I was just thinking that the PI delivered with rather flimsy PSU . ( I have two ) Would fair better with a powered external drive they are usually 3,5" drives . Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
As you see I've removed most of the control buttons at the bottom. What choice of buttons would you want to have there? I don't see the skip backward "<<" button. That doesn't directly answer my question. But I guess what you wanted to say is that you'd like to have the back button there? Yes, there's currently only play/pause, forward and volume. Because that's the ones I use the most. FWD is important to get rid of the accidental bad track quickly :-). Also, if the volume has been set for 100%, can the volume up and down buttons be removed? Hmm... good question. I'm not sure whether JiveLite even knows about that volume setting. How do the other skins behave when volume is fixed? -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite for piCorePlayer
that looks good to me. one thing that bugs me is the lack of a decent generic picture something nicer than a grey blob would be nicer for those without artwork :) If you don't have artwork, then you should probably not use the "large artwork" screensaver ;-). I wonder how hard it would be for someone to come up with something better and provide it as a minimalist plugin or skin... -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
