Hi Greg

Would you consider including the attached for item 2? It is for a
Synology NAS but I expect other NAS would be similar.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Memory Leak in Perl Engine on piCorePlayer?

2020-12-04 Thread mvordeme

The same thing again today. The moment Tidal gets stuck, the pCP web
interface does not load properly any more. And I noticed another thing:
I configured the Transporter to power down the audio section when off.
It was sitting there, clicking about once per minute. It seems that the
entire server is out of connections. As soon as the LMS is restarted,
everything is fine again.

I haven't tried this yet, but it sure looks a lot simpler than anything
else I've read.

LMS basically consolidates all the rules from convert.conf and
custom-convert.conf - so after processing there is only one rule (for
each combination of I F & R) which if you disable the "rule" it means
the "rule" is totally disabled - LMS does not revert back to the
original rule in convert.conf (how would you disable both rules ?).

i was able to replicate the problem i had the other day: i had two rules
for flc pcm, one in convert.conf using [flac] and another one in a
custom-convert file using [sox]. the latter had always precedence and
even when it was disabled the former would not work

Depends on which branch you have installed.

If you have the stable branch installed, then it will update the stable
branch. If you have the dev branch installed, then it will update that
one.

Ah, many thanks - looking in the web interface I see "Nightly Update"
and "Update Libs". The Nightly Update says "Download and update LMS
Nightly Server Package" - I've always thought Nightly meant bleeding
edge / beta, so have traditionally stayed away from it!

If I don't want a nightly build, would I be best following the
instructions in the docs?

Just to note, the link to update from within LMS points to: http://:9000/html/docs/picore-update.html?installerFile=http://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v8.0.0/logitechmediaserver-8.0.0-noCPAN.tgz

There are some changes happening with the update notifier process in
LMS. I'll need to check what is shown on that web page in LMS, it used
to point the user back to the pCP web interface. use the update that
is in the pCP web interface. If you get a no update found from the pCP
interface, then you need to follow the instructions in the link that I
posted.

Hello, sorry if this is a daft question or answered many times already,
I tried searching this thread but for some reason every search I try
returns no results... (update: I was trying "LMS" which is maybe too
short??)

Anyway, was really interested to see this documentation on how to
upgrade LMS, but I've also noticed that I have a prompt to update to LMS
8 from within LMS itself - if I click on the link I get a page which
says:

> An updated version of Logitech Media Server is available and ready to

The "click here" link it gives is to http://:9000/html/docs/picore-update.html?installerFile=http://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v8.0.0/logitechmediaserver-8.0.0-noCPAN.tgz

Would this work, or can I assume from the documented procedure above
that it is a case of "don't push the red button!!"?!

Many thanks for pCP btw, it has been so much better than my previous
setup of running LMS on my Readynas 202!
