Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 6.1.0 issues
Hi I was trying to upgrade the release version of LMS 8.0.0 to fix a .cue file bug and the update msg points to 8.1.0 but for PCP to use "this link": 3267232673 But unfortunately the PC link just opens my desktop folder, so was a bit mystified as what to do next. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer 6.1.0 issues
Tx, in the end somehow running the lmsupdate cmd again downloaded 8.1.0 and it upgraded fine. It'd be really good if the LMS stable release upgrade could be done via the UI and in an easy form, like it is on Windows (the taskbar icon shows an update is available and downloaded, you can review the new changes and then it's one click to update). As it tends to be a sporadic thing, it's easy to forget all the various steps. Code: $ sudo lms-update.sh -r ### This script will update the Logitech Media Server extension usage: /usr/local/bin/lms-update.sh [-u] [-d] [-m] [-r] [-s] [-t] -u Unattended Execution -d Debug, Temp files not erased -m Manual download Link Check for LMS update -r Reload LMS after Update -s Skip Update from GitHub -t Test building, but do not move extension to tce directory --mm Force the version you want to update. Hello ... insitu upgrade for 6 RPI units to PCP7. Three WiFi units disconnected and I have struggled to get them working again. I have 3B+ unit on my desk and have done a fresh PCP7 install, used built in and wifi dongles. I have no security, SSID is visible (and working). Both built in and dongle WiFi works as I can do full scan the network but no WiFi IP is generated. Originally user_wpa_supplicant file but deleted and regenerated file maintained by PCP. I have solid red light and bluetooth is turned off. It seems the AP will just not recognise and register the device. I have removed the Bind IP to Mac ..running out of ideas to get it working again..is it me but all 3 WiFi units have gone off line after upgrade! RPi4, PcP7, on ethernet. Got the onboard bluetooth running with phone successfully connected as a player. However, despite having hostname and player name set, my phone is still seeing the player name as picoreplayer. Have tested this across 2 separate devices. Obviously not being able to distinguish which player is which is less than ideal, and the GUI suggests it should send the player name as the bluetooth device name. Any ideas? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
So now that I'm back in front of my hardware. The RPi0 now has a few oddities from how it used to be configured. In old versions, the device for HDMI and the headphone jack was CARD=ALSA, In the newer kernels, they are now separate. On a pi0, there is no headphone jack, so there will be no device named CARD=Headphone, the onboard audio will only work with HDMI, which is now called CARD=b1.HDMI must be connected for this device to show up. As for the user with a Hifiberry-Dac-Zero. I don't have that specific card, but I do have the Pimoroni PirateAudio card, which uses the same driver. It is working fine. So I'm not sure. But I would start with looking at dmesg to see if there are any clues. You should see a line similar to this. Code: [ 20.795906] snd-rpi-simple soc:sound: pcm5102a-hifi <-> 20203000.i2s mapping ok What is shown in your output field on the squeezelite page. You should see similar to what I have highlighted. 32679 +---+ |Filename: 2020-12-26_11-34.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=32679| +---+ piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. [SlimDevices: Unix] Playlists empty on new LMS install
I have successfully set up a new RPi4 with picoreplayer and LMS and my music files and Playlists are on a USB HD. Everything is fine except my playlists are showing in LMS as "empty". The name lists appear in LMS but each one is empty. The playlist folder is separate from the music library folder under a directory called LMSfiles. Samba is set up and I can see the .M3U files in the playlists folder. The contents appears to be intact when I open the .M3U files in Notepad. The playlist folder and files are a duplicate of my older LMS server files which still play as expected. A comparison in FreeFileSynch shows them as identical. I have rescanned, rebooted and looked at all the settings but no luck. Any suggestions?? jfo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113526 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] ANNOUNCE: piCorePlayer 7.0.0
Hi, I was satisfied with normal FLAC's till now. But now I have seriously upgraded my headphone set. My DAC has both SPDIF and USB inputs. Got the new version working. But now I find out that the max over SPDIF is 192K and that the DSD only does 64. Have tried the new set with Moode. Not the kind of system I am looking, but I'm to get 384K on SPDIF and DSD256 working. So now I'm trying to replicate these rates with piCorePlayer. Conclusion thus far, I can not get it work. So, I need some pointers :o Regards, Len. lencoth's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69748 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

hi JulianH, The last line of wpa_supplicant.conf should have a: } It's weird that you had 3 failures! Most of my pCP are wireless so the building and upgrade processes with wifi gets a lot of testing. It may be having no security is the problem because I never test that and I guess not many people would use it either, so no user feedback. Its not clear to me what method you are using to setup wifi. If you put # Maintained by user in your wpa_supplicant.conf then pCP will not attempt to *fix* it. regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113512 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 'Official' docker container for LMS?
would be stored in the config folder you define for the container. Right, now that is were you lost me already. Trying to catch up with this dockers set up in Synology. First I have just launched it with out any changes (on host) That did not work. I do see mounting options which I do not fully understand how that works. A shared folder has been created called Dockers.. A Docker container needs to know where to store the prefs, caches etc. In Synology you can define this path when you lanuch an image for the first time. There's an "Advanced Settings" buttons which allows you to define where to map "volumes". The container will expect /config to be writable. Thus you have to make sure that you map some writable path to /config. Define others for /music and /playlist - which obviously should point at your music collection. But I can not find anywhere this server.log How to look in the container? Once you've set this up you should find folders with logs and prefs in whatever path you mapped /config to. Do I need to do anything with the docker run text as stated in https://registry.hub.docker.com/r/lmscommunity/logitechmediaserver/ No, you can define this in Synology's Docker manager. -- Michael ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
