Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Start/restart squeezelite when plug-in USB dac
O.K...seems to work now. Might have been a browser refresh issue all along---apologies, a rookie mistake. When I see the pCP Main Page after reboot with dac off, Squeezelite was shown "OFF" as would be expected. Then, after powering the dac on, the page still showed it as "OFF" but then, when I manually refreshed the page, it showed Squeezelite as "ON". Answers to your questions: 1. Yes. 2. Yes. 3. Yes. 4. Yes. 5. When I type that, I get only this (not the other 6 lines you mentioned): Installation complete Squeezelite is now set up to autostart/stop with DAC power Backup and reboot ('pcp br') to enable So, finally, does that User Command (/home/tc/SQLITE_control.sh find DAC51892395' in my case) need to stay Tweaks or do I delete it?? Cheers... chill wrote: The latest version of the script did not change the functionality compared to the one before (maybe I need to start using version numbers, because I can see that there may be some confusion already). The only changes were to make 'install' fail a bit more gracefully if the DAC wasn't present, and to make sure that the user types 'sudo' in front of the 'install' and 'uninstall' options. If you have disabled the 'stop' function with the '#' character (one or both lines is up to you: in front of the 'sudo' line prevents the stop command working, in front of the 'echo' line also prevents it from reporting in the log file, so both is better), and the 'start' function isn't working, then the script is now doing nothing! So it's possible a typo has been introduced into your version of the script causing it to fail to run. So let's do a few checks: 1) Do you have a file called 10-DAC51892395.rules in /etc/udev/rules.d? 2) Is it the only file beginning with '10-' in that location? 3) Is that file listed at the end of /opt/filetool.lst? 4) Do you see the following lines towards the top of /opt/bootlocal.sh? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Network dropout with pCP 7.0.0
I've since activated the syslog daemon. Unfortunately, the kernel prints out such a huge number of "lan78xx 1- eth0: kevent 4 may have been dropped" that both /var/log/messages and /var/log/messages.0 get drowned in seconds. I was just giving up, wenn I noticed a new error (which seems more plausible as the culprit because it's related to WIFI): [632481.832827] ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_run_escan: error (-110) [632481.832840] ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_cfg80211_scan: scan error (-110) [632485.352833] ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_run_escan: error (-110) [632485.352847] ieee80211 phy0: brcmf_cfg80211_scan: scan error (-110) ... I've found https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/2453, which could be the issue (I don't have the originating log lines, so I can't be sure it's the same error, but the symptoms sound quite similar). I've tried removing and reloading the driver, but that didn't work: $ sudo modprobe -r brcmfmac [633047.173955] usbcore: deregistering interface driver brcmfmac $ sudo modprobe brcmfmac [633058.970549] brcmfmac: F1 signature read @0x1800=0x15264345 [633058.975671] brcmfmac: brcmf_fw_alloc_request: using brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio for chip BCM4345/6 [633058.978083] usbcore: registered new interface driver brcmfmac [633061.672813] brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_bus_rxctl: resumed on timeout [633061.673089] ieee80211 phy1: brcmf_bus_started: failed: -110 [633061.673108] ieee80211 phy1: brcmf_attach: dongle is not responding: err=-110 [633061.713169] brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_firmware_callback: brcmf_attach failed pputzer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36842 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113680 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] [piCorePlayer] Customization of RF remote control keys?
Thanks for the pointer. It turns out this new remote is sending a different code for the OK and Enter keys than the one that works. Working remote: Code: Event: time 1613328411.379315, type 4 (EV_MSC), code 4 (MSC_SCAN), value 70028 Event: time 1613328411.379315, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 28 (KEY_ENTER), value 1 Event: time 1613328411.379315, -- SYN_REPORT Event: time 1613328411.387290, type 4 (EV_MSC), code 4 (MSC_SCAN), value 70028 Event: time 1613328411.387290, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 28 (KEY_ENTER), value 0 Non-working new remote: Code: Event: time 1613328715.194926, type 4 (EV_MSC), code 4 (MSC_SCAN), value 70058 Event: time 1613328715.194926, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 96 (KEY_KPENTER), value 1 Event: time 1613328715.194926, -- SYN_REPORT Event: time 1613328715.298836, type 4 (EV_MSC), code 4 (MSC_SCAN), value 70058 Event: time 1613328715.298836, type 1 (EV_KEY), code 96 (KEY_KPENTER), value 0 So it looks like the remote is functioning, but Jivelite is ignoring the 70058 code. I guess I will need to remap the codes to get it to work if I want to keep it? Is this typical of RF remotes? I would have expected Enter to be consistent/universal. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer Documentation
Thank you for adding information on SD cards for PiCore, that will be helpful for people deciding what to buy. I have been looking at the various settings and saw the Security button on the PiCore main page. It is using the default Id and password. I am curious, when is the id and password used? When I connect to PiCore from my internal LAN, it never asks for a user id and password. For cyber security best practices, I should probably change it from the default. However, I would like to know when that id and password is required. However, after the Solarwinds issue, I hope the various code elements used for updates are frequently checked for stuff that does not belong. I would not want my Pi to become a botnet for someone wanting to mine bitcoin or snooping for identity theft. Thanks for the wonderful software! Just got another RF remote to try out: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0787Z1C2G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8=1 33368 I wanted to try this one since the front side is much simpler and should do the job for jivelite control. All the buttons work with jivelite EXCEPT the OK button and the enter key on the back. They do nothing. These are obviously the most important for selections, so it is pretty useless. I suspect it is just defective and will send it back, but I was wondering about a quick way to check in the logs to see if these keys are getting recognized? Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Lost sound after upgrading to pCP 7
Today I retrieved the SD-card and installed piCorePlayer 6.1.0 on it. The player is back to working with the ApplePi DAC HAT board. I conclude that something went amis during my in-situ upgrade to piCorePlayer 7.0.0 P.S. My old trouble with the yellow lightning bolt is not resovled. As mentioned before, it might be the PSU that's not powerful enough (anymore) or it might be bad contacts in the Raspberry Pi. At least, while the device was disassembled I made sure that some contacts were pulled and pushed (aka cleaned a bit) and that didn't do the trick. This comment is not related to the subject. Tx for adding the LMS warning. It'd also be useful to say what navigating away from the page will do. I only saw a progress % counter on FF with no bar. I had to do a shit Reload (override cache) to get the bar to display. The image size makes a lot more sense now, though an old storage pedant says all that has to happen now is to change mb to be MB or GB and then we're !Done". Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Picoreplayer 7 + RPi4B. USB DAC output problems
There is a possibility I think that there is some sort of timing issue going on, as the DAC doesn't function at boot but will function if you replug it. The odd thing is that the DAC is recognised but doesn't function. Anyway, as an experiment, you could slow down the boot process by setting the "Wait for USB" parameter using the "Beta" tab "Main Page" -> "Extras" -> "Bootcodes" -> "waitusb=". Try setting is to something like 30 seconds. There is no USB device to wait for (your DAC is recognised) but it will slow the boot process by the time entered, which *may* allow the USB to get to a functioning state before Squeezelite is started. coyrls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44253 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113895 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
