Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Genre listing incomplete
I have found a work around. I've used kid3 to convert the ID3v2.4 tags to ID3v2.3 in ID3v1.1 tag set genre to blank. When I scan for changed music they show up under correct genre listing. Would be nice to know the reason why ID3v2.4 doesn't work properly though. -- Icarus Icarus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6793 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83815 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

[SlimDevices: Unix] Genre listing incomplete
I am running squeezeboxserver Version: 7.5.2 - r31488 on Ubuntu 8.10. I have an issue with genre of mp3 files that are tagged with ID3v2.4 (ID3v1 ID3v2.4) not showing in the 'genre listing'. Any mp3 files tagged with ID3v2.3 (ID3v1 ID3v2.3) do show in the 'genre listing'. Is there some sort of incompatibility in squeezeboxserver with mp3 ID3v2.4 (ID3v1 ID3v2.4) ?? All these files are tagged as Audiobook genre. It would appear that other genres are listed correctly. Anyone got any ideas how to resolve this ? -- Icarus Icarus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6793 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83815 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Genre listing incomplete
JJZolx Thanks for your reply. Squeezeboxserver is seeing them as 'Other' When I list by Other I see all the missing Audiobooks some Music albums. -- Icarus Icarus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6793 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83815 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Genre listing incomplete
Yes will upload a file when I work out how to. The ID3v1.1 tag says genre = Other the ID3v2.4 says genre = Audiobook. So my guess is that Squeezeboxserver is reading the ID3v1.1 tag first. Have tried removing the genre from the ID3v1.1 tag rescanning library but it still says genre = Other. -- Icarus Icarus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6793 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83815 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
